- Box vs Kiryu
- I'll summarize my thoughts with respect to the matchups overall. Feel free to DM if you have questions.
- Overall, Kiryu's focus on the piercing vector for all his characters paid off. Box never really argued against Kiryu's team in a way that nullified their fairly simple win condition: land one hit and capitalize on the injury caused therein, or win outright at that point.
- Songbird vs Blake
- I think Songbird's shields can withstand Blake's attacks generally by virtue of the plane guns feat, and flying is a huge boon for her. The idea that Songbird could just contain Blake using a large enough construct was only argued around, not really against, by Kiryu. I don't know how Blake would escape a bubble forming around her if I take as true that Songbird can make constructs in relevant time-frames and could do other things while Blake is contained, such as move her around or continue hitting her in some fashion.
- However, I think also that Blake's clone jutsu can probably get around or through Songbird's constructs when they are made or when they attack Blake, and this exchange would put Blake in range to land hits on Songbird. There was no pushback against Blake piercing Songbird. Further, Kiryu pretty much controlled the debate with regards to how Songbird could actually utilize relevant reactions: that she is basically not moving while creating constructs in tier-relevant time-frames went unchallenged as well.
- Overall, I lean toward Blake.
- Makkari vs Tigra
- I think this one is much more straightforward. Makkari blitzes Tigra as her first move, can Tigra react? The answer seems to be yes. Makkari doesn't have any piercing resistance to speak of, Tigra's propensity to gut, cut, or otherwise kill her opponents was never argued against, and Makkari's reactions don't allow her to react to Tigra in response. When the first exchange happens, based on this debate, it seems as though Makkari will undoubtedly sustain damage from Tigra's claws, and Tigra will, if she was hit, be able to continue fighting better than will Makkari.
- Tigra wins.
- Panty vs X-23
- Again, this matchup is fairly straightforward. Box didn't introduce any more evidence to the idea that X-23 would be incapacitated by a single headshot, nor that Panty is any more likely than an Accurate Shooter to land headshots on X-23 such that X-23 could not dodge or intercept the bullet. Meanwhile, Kiryu supplied a countering feat of X-23 eating a hail of gunfire, including headshots, and not really giving a shit.
- Panty doesn't have any piercing durability feats, X-23 has piercing feats, so if X-23 hits Panty, Panty will be hurt by X-23's claws. The same is in doubt with regard to Panty's gun(s) and X-23's durability.
- X-23 wins.
- Kiryu wins 3-0.
