  1. Notorious Squash Matches
  2.
  3. 1981.06.13 George Steele vs. Rick Bolton (WWF Championship Wrestling)
  4. Steele focuses on Bolton's left arm and applies a flying hammerlock for the finish. As a result, it appears that Bolton's shoulder has been dislocated (since Bolton is double jointed) while the audience looks on in sheer horror.
  5.
  6. 1982.09 Terry Funk vs. Bruce Walkup (Empty Arena Cage Match - CWF)
  7. This was an angle to promote an upcoming match in Funk's feud with Dusty. Funk is even more maniacal than usual, and cuts an incredible promo during the post match.
  8.
  9. 1983.02.06 Tully Blanchard vs. Eric Embry (Southwest)
  10. Bob Sweetan informs everyone that Blanchard hasn't defended the Southwest title in 30 days. Tully replaces The Grappler against Embry, and then proceeds to make an example out of him by beating him to a bloody pulp. Embry is a grotesque sight to behold.
  11.
  12. 1983.05.04 Road Warriors vs. Sam Houston & Dale Veasey (GCW)
  13. Sam Houston takes some wicked looking bumps from Hawk & Animal, who are still green here.
  14.
  15. 1983.09.24 Masked Superstar vs. Eddie Gilbert (WWF Championship Wrestling)
  16. This is the infamous angle where Masked Superstar gave Gilbert a "broken neck" as a result of a swinging neckbreaker on the concrete. In actuality, Gilbert's neck was legitimately broken in an auto accident prior to the match. Winner of the most disgusting promotional tactic award in the Wrestling Observer for 1983.
  17.
  18. 1984.06.16 Paul Orndorff vs. Rudy Diamond (WWF Championship Wrestling)
  19. Rudy wears a shirt with "Paula" embroidered on it, and leads the crowd in chanting the name. Orndorff goes ballistic. The piledriver he gives Rudy Diamond looks absolutely SICK.
  20.
  21. 1985.01.11 One Man Gang vs. Shawn Michaels (WCCW)
  22. Shawn Michaels nearly gets decapitated by an OMG clothesline here, and subsequently squashed like a grape from the 747 splash. Good times.
  23.
  24. 1985.02.24 Kamala vs. Mark Pole & Lou Fabiano (Pro Wrestling USA)
  25. This is from the NWA/AWA Starwars event at the Meadowlands. Kamala is managed by Billy Robinson, who cuts a brilliant promo afterward. Somehow the business missed out on featuring Robinson as a manager.
  26.
  27. 1985.04 Mark Lewin vs. Rick Casey (Southwest)
  28. Lewin was intimidating as hell. Rick Casey would eventually be known as "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley.
  29.
  30. 1985.05 Mark Lewin vs. Henry Garcia (Southwest)
  31. Lewin continues to terrorize the Southwest region. Nobody is safe, including the referee.
  32.
  33. 1985.05.11 Ken Patera vs. Judo Joe Black (WWF Championship Wrestling)
  34. Meet Joe Black. Ken Patera faces a dude in a Karate gi who clearly had little to no training. Hilarity ensued. The fact that this even aired is a minor miracle and Mr. Black was never seen or heard from again.
  35.
  36. 1985.08.01 Dick Murdoch vs. Humongous (Mid-South)
  37. "Who won? Who lost? My lips are sealed. If you wanna find out get ready to order this great video cassette now."
  38.
  39. 1985.10.12 Kevin Sullivan vs. Jim Backlund (CWF)
  40. Before he was one half of the Heavenly Bodies in SMW, Jimmy Del Ray paid his dues in Florida.
  41.
  42. 1985.11.02 Roddy Piper vs. Rick McGraw (WWF Championship Wrestling)
  43. Perhaps the most infamous squash match ever as McGraw passed away a couple of days before the match aired. Back then, many fans believed that McGraw died as a result of the beating he sustained during the match.
  44.
  45. 1986.02.01 Koko B. Ware vs. The Patriot (CWA)
  46. The Patriot is not Del Wilkes. Whoever this dude was, he didn't endear himself to Koko because he gets pummeled!
  47.
  48. 1986.03.01 Koko B. Ware vs. Gustavo Mendoza (Mid-South)
  49. Koko delivers one of the stiffest, best looking dropkicks ever recorded.
  50.
  51. 1986.05.10 Midnight Express vs. Randy & Bill Mulkey (NWA World Championship Wrestling)
  52. Cornette was tied to a pickup truck and nearly dragged to his death by The James Gang a week earlier. Unfortunately for the Mulkeys, they have to face the irritable duo of Eaton and Condrey.
  53.
  54. 1986.09.13 British Bulldogs vs. Jack Foley & Les Thornton (WWF Superstars)
  55. Infamous match which Foley wrote about in "Have a Nice Day" where Dynamite Kid hits him with a clothesline which was so stiff that he was unable to eat solid food for several weeks.
  56.
  57. 1987.05.30 Midnight Express vs. Randy & Bill Mulkey (NWA Pro)
  58. The Mulkeys, two months removed from their improbable victory over The Gladiators, face the newest version of The Midnight Express, Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane.
  59.
  60. 1988.02.06 Dick Murdoch vs. Bob Emory (NWA World Championship Wrestling)
  61. From the TBS Techwood Drive studio. Cornette provides color commentary. At one point Murdoch sends Emory crashing through the podium and it disintegrates. Followed by a great post match interview. Tremendous segment.
  62.
  63. 1988.08.29 Honky Tonk Man vs. Ultimate Warrior (SummerSlam)
  64. One of the most satisfying squashes ever as HTM's interminable I-C title reign comes to an end in epic fashion.
  65.
  66. 1989.06.17 Terry Funk vs. Cougar Jay (NWA World Championship Wrestling)
  67. One of many terrific Funk squashes from his incredible 1989 run.
  68.
  69. 1989.07.22 Samoan Swat Team vs. Cougar Jay & Jerry Price (NWA Worldwide)
  70. SST really dished out the punishment in those days. Jerry Price takes one of the scariest looking bumps ever from a double back body drop.
  71.
  72. 1989.08.27 Sid Vicious vs. Lee Scott (NWA Main Event)
  73. Legendary. If a better squash match exists, I haven't seen it.
  74.
  75. 1989.09.16 Skyscrapers vs. Tim Parker & Luis Astia (NWA World Championship Wrestling)
  76. Sid & Spivey were such a badass team. That helicopter move that Sid used was sick.
  77.
  78. 1989.09.30 Skyscrapers vs. Lee Scott & Jerry Price (NWA Worldwide)
  79. Lee Scott. The man, the myth, the legend.
  80.
  81. 1989.10.28 Terry Funk vs. Lee Scott (NWA Pro)
  82. Perhaps the greatest wrestler of all time facing arguably the greatest jobber of all time.
  83.
  84. 1989.11.18 Buzz Sawyer vs. Trent Knight (NWA World Championship Wrestling)
  85. Poor Trent Knight takes a beating here. Sawyer was an absolute madman in 1989-90.
  86.
  87. 1989.11.26 Buzz Sawyer vs. Richie Rouge; Lee Scott (NWA Main Event)
  88. The Mad Dog's appetite was insatiable. Beating down one jobber simply wasn't enough.
  89.
  90. 1990.01.27 Steve Williams vs. Cactus Jack (NWA World Championship Wrestling)
  91. Foley takes a series of insane bumps here. It's amazing that his body held out as long as it did.
  92.
  93. 1990.03.03 Kevin Sullivan & Buzz Sawyer vs. Zan Panzer & Robbie Idol (NWA World Championship Wrestling)
  94. Between the post match antics and the interview with Jim Ross, in the words of Cornette, "Sawyer is nuttier than a Christmas fruitcake."
  95.
  96. 1990.07.07 Stan Hansen vs. Dave Reardon (NWA World Championship Wrestling)
  97. We all know Hansen's reputation for being stiff and blind as a bat, but somehow he inadvertently fractures Reardon's skull!!!
  98.
  99. 1991.04.06 Stan Hansen & Sid Vicious vs. David Isley & Keith Hart (WCW Worldwide)
  100. Imagine being one of these poor jobbers and getting to the arena only to be informed that you'll be facing Stan & Sid. Yikes!
  101.
  102. 1991.12.21 Moondogs vs. Deuce Mason & Don Kelly (USWA)
  103. 1992.01.11 Moondogs vs. Tim Wilson & George Robertson (USWA)
  104. 1992.01.18 Moondogs vs. Richie Hutchens & Dazzler Hayes (USWA)
  105. These are among the most brutal squash matches that you'll see.
  106.
  107. 1992.03.29 Sid Justice vs. Mike Casey & Terry Davis (WWF Wrestling Challenge)
  108. People can say what they want about Sid's work, but his squash matches during the late 80's and early 90's were awesome.
  109.
  110. 1992.08.29 Big Van Vader vs. Scott McKever (WCW Worldwide)
  111. Vader is coming off the title loss to Ron Simmons a few weeks prior, and he's even more volatile than usual, which is bad news for Mr. McKever.
  112.
  113. 1992.11.07 Big Van Vader vs. T.A. McCoy & Joe Thurman (WCW Worldwide)
  114. The infamous match where Joe Thurman had his back broken by Vader.
  115.
  116. 1993.03.13 Yokozuna vs. Casey Cleric (WWF Superstars)
  117. Yoko prepares for his title shot at Bret Hart at WrestleMania X by squashing a jobber. Nasty looking bonzai drops. Yes, plural.
  118.
  119. 1993.03.20 Kevin Sullivan vs. WING Kanemura (SMW)
  120. Sullivan has a metal spike and uses it liberally. This resembles a scene from a horror film more than a wrestling match. I'm still amazed that this aired.
  121.
  122. 1993.06.03 Stan Hansen & Joel Deaton vs. Steve Williams & Terry Gordy (AJPW)
  123. It seems rather obvious which guy will be dropping the fall, right? Guess again!
  124.
  125. 1993.08.21 Quebecers vs. Dan Dubiel & Scott Despres (WWF Superstars)
  126. The Quebecers look awesome here dishing out some great double team moves.
  127.
  128. 1993.09.19 Headshrinkers vs. Tony Roy & Mike Davis (WWF Wrestling Challenge)
  129. This has one of the most unforgettable spots from any squash. I saw it when it aired, and can still recall it vividly all these years later.
  130.
  131. 1994.01.03 Yokozuna vs. Dan Dubiel (WWF Raw)
  132. Featuring the sickest bonzai drop ever.
  133.
  134. 1994.01.29 Vader vs. Randy Hogan (WCW Power Hour)
  135. This is about 6 months before Hulk arrives and nearly ruined the promotion. I like to pretend that it's Hulk in there taking a beating, which I encourage everyone to do while viewing. :)
  136.
  137. 1994.05.14 Rick Rude vs. Mark Starr (WCW Saturday Night)
  138. Mark Starr got on Rude's bad side, which is not somewhere most wrestlers wanted to be. Sadly, this was Rude's last televised match as a result of the career ending injury suffered against Sting in Japan.
  139.
  140. 1994.11.26 Harlem Heat vs. Scott Sandlin & Joey Maggs (WCW Saturday Night)
  141. Apparently Scott Sandlin managed to piss off Booker T and Stevie Ray because they stiff the hell out of him.
  142.
  143. 1994.12.24 Harlem Heat vs. Davey Rich & Rob Morgan & (WCW Saturday Night)
  144. I developed a new appreciation for Harlem Heat after watching these. This one might be even stiffer than the previous match. Their finisher was GREAT.
  145.
  146. 1996.03.23 Jerry Lawler vs. Al Jackson (WWF Superstars)
  147. Lawler does his own color commentary during the match! Al Jackson is billed as a pro boxer with a record of 35-1 with 31 KO's. Ha! Yeah, right.
