car parking complex
car trunk
box cutter
inf. stomach
crosshatch cuts
guy approaches
try to intimidate
he stands still
slam trunk on inf.
held in choke hold
grazing cut to the gut
run looking back
he stands still
knee over extended
slices thighs
gashes palm
running up holding eye contact
second floor
hid behind concrete
cars drive up well
cover mouth
forgot gash
he drives up and sees me
steps out of car
kicks me over and stomp on my shoulder
stomps on my knee
i run down stairwell
lean on rail
look down center
long way down
i see a fleshy creature standing on two feet, the legs are about a foot long, the torso connects to it's neck, no defineable fingers, the hands are fleshy bulbs, it has purple bruises and red spots on its skin and stands at 4 feet tall
i hear a voice
He is but a man, There's nothing wrong with him
he looms forward
He is simply misunderstood, that is all
it raises an arm

i take another step down
it punches me into the rail
it fillets my torso
and splatters my body on the wall opposite
my intestines suspend me twisted around the rail

He stands there with an arm raised
I look down the stairwell and jump
I free fall but hear the words just as clear
He was perfect
i see the flesh man stand by the rail
of every floor I fell, watching with it's arm raised
i hit the ground and wake up in a car
my belt is buckled and hands tied
the mirror is down and open
a women gets in the driver seat
she says we were perfect
who us?
she replies you two
i look at the mirror
the car man is back smiling
i do not break i contact
she drives
i'm crying, my eyes burn, i don't know where we're going
wake up in a bed, there's two beds, other one to my right, right of that there's bookcases
he stands in front of my bed, hands bound
she calls him John
tells him to get to work
unties his hands
he kills her
a man walks in
he kills John
he lingers
he grabs my arm and pulls me to the books
the covers are all women with scars around their necks

The scars

he takes me to the balcony
we look towards the city
all blue lights
the women from the covers adorn building's facades,
he whispers
they don't know what freedom is
you thought you had it but they wanted you to do those things
they can't hear us here
