- The 90s and early 2000s brought us many beautiful 3D platforming games each brought to life through the faces of amazing and memorable characters. I’ve always felt drawn to this era and believe it was the pinnacle of gaming. Certain speedrun communities recognize the value and beauty in 3D platformers specifically, such as the 1545. However there is more that 3D platforming has to offer than only the games of the 1545. In fact, most franchises that were born as 3D platformers are not recognized in that marathon. This is a list of all the main 3D platforming serie characters that were born as original game titles (rather than from movies or shows), most of which were born out of 3D platforming (*rather than starting from 2D).
