NSA captain Warren Hart helped set up Baltimore's Black Panther chapter.

Key to the decimation of the Young Lords in the '70s was Dan Williams, an NSA operative married to activist Gloria Gonzalez.

Williams manipulated and tortured Gonzalez into sabotaging the Young Lords' operations from within.

A 1974 speech by Amiri Baraka was largely understood as a negative turning point in the movement, but it was given in the context of some activists trying to deal with the revelations that UNITA, Angolan anti-communist rebels, were a CIA front.

The speech can be listened to at the Schomburg Center in Harlem.
