  1. Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland
  2. Any% Cake Contest Notes (Stolen Milker+Forage/Chicken Route, w/ mineral YOLO)
  3. [Updated 25 Jan 2026]
  4.
  5. Fatigue address = 20267832
  6.
  7. FULL FORAGE (SPRING)
  8. - Carpenter's: 5VB, 5MD = 100G
  9. - Lake: 5BB, 5MD = 200G
  10. - Goddess: 5VB, 5MD = 100G
  11. - Villa: 5VB, 5MD = 100G
  12. - Total: 500G
  13.
  14. FULL FORAGE (SUMMER)
  15. - Carpenter's: 5VB, 5MD = 100G
  16. - Lake: 5BB, 5MD, 5PC = 300G
  17. - Goddess: 5VB, 5MD, 5CB = 200G
  18. - Villa: 5VB, 5MD, 5CB = 200G
  19. - Total: 800G
  20.
  21. CARPENTER MINERALS
  22. - Blue Rock: 90G
  23. - Rare Metal: 180G
  24. - Copper Ore: 40G
  25. - Iron Ore: 60G
  26. - Limestone: 40G
  27.
  28. LOUIS MINERALS
  29. - Moonlight Stone: 100G
  30. - Rare Metal: 180G
  31. - Iron Ore: 60G
  32. - Copper Ore: 40G
  33. - Pontata Root: 80G
  34. - Medicinal Herb: 30G
  35.
  36. MONEY BREAKDOWN
  37. - "Standard" pre-mining funds: 2090G (1 Katie gift, 1 Golden Egg, no early MHs, no Ronald "flex" berries), thus 410G short
  38. - Additional Golden Eggs: -50G each
  39. - Summer 2/3 "bonus" eggs: +50G each (up to +100G)
  40. - Early Herbs: +10 each
  41. - Early MHs: +30G each
  42. - Ronald "flex": +150G (foraging VB+CB from Goddess pond after the evening cafe CS, costs only two loading zones and a relatively quick extra shop before buying the cow)
  43. - There are certain minerals that Woody won't buy, but Louis will; unfortunately, because Summer 29 lands on a Wednesday, you can only sell to Woody, so at least on this current route, Moonlight Stone and Pontata Root are useless
  44.
  45. EARLY MINING STRAT
  46. - As an alternative to a full forage on Spring 23, you could start the morning off mining, then forage only 5VB+5BB. This loses 200G, but as long as you dug up at least that much in minerals, you break even, with the potential to make even more with better luck.
  47. - With early mining, you are also able to sell Louis-only minerals (Moonlight Stone, Pontata Root) that would otherwise be wasted if you dug them up on the night of Summer 28.
  48. - You would still mine on Summer 28, but this is just an alternative early-game strat, and gives you more opportunity to potentially skip bonus eggs if you got good luck.
  49. - This also saves a little extra time because, with a full forage, you actually reach the cafe at like 12:30-1:00pm (~12-25s lost). You also save two loads (entering/exiting Goddess pond).
  50. - With early mining, you do have to intro+gift Katie inside the cafe though, which is a small loss. You also give up three MH checks (in Goddess pond).
  51. - With early mining and the lighter forage, you're short 610G for the cow, to be made up between minerals, Herbs/MHs, flex berries (+150G), and bonus eggs (+50-100G)

  74.
  75. - Goddess Questions: NEGATIVE
  76. - Spring 2: Sleep until Spring 23
  77. - Spring 23:
  78. > While foraging, grab Herbs/MHs if they are directly on your path, but don't go out of the way for them
  79. > Forage order: carpenter's (VB+MD, reset for weed), weed intro+gift Katie, lake (BB+MD), Goddess (VB+MD) = 400G
  80. > Enter the cafe to trigger CS1 (it's likely just past noon after forage)
  81. > Re-enter the cafe after the CS and show Katie the weed 7 times before leaving (toss the weed)
  82. > Ronald's: Sell all VB, buy 3 eggs (-50G=350G)
  83. > Incubate an egg and sleep until Spring 26
  84. > GET THE RECIPE!!!
  85. - Spring 26:
  86. > Hatch egg, incubate another, and put the chick outside
  87. > Sleep until Spring 29
  88. - Spring 29:
  89. > Hatch egg, incubate another, and put the chick outside
  90. > Sleep until Summer 4
  91. > Summer 2/3 can be used to get 1 egg each; you can choose to grab them or skip them depending on MH luck and your desired level of YOLO
  92. > Probably grab 2 if you get 0 MH, 1 if 1-2 MH, and 0 if 3+ MH
  93. - Summer 4:
  94. > Grab 1 egg (+50G=400G)
  95. > Hatch egg and bring chick outside
  96. > Do chicken escape and spam Gina 49 times
  97. > Put the chick back on the farm
  98. > Sleep until Summer 26
  99. - Summer 26: Grab eggs
  100. - Summer 27: Grab eggs
  101. - Summer 28 (part 1):
  102. > Grab eggs; if you didn't get a Golden Egg over the last three days, reset
  103. > While foraging, grab Herbs/MHs if they are directly on your path, but don't go out of the way for them
  104. > Villa: Forage CB, sell eggs to Martha (+500G=900G; -50G for every extra Golden Egg)
  105. > Forest: Forage at carpenter's (VB) and lake (PC, BB) (+300G=1200G; -50G for every extra Golden Egg)
  106. > Enter the cafe at NOON SHARP for CS2, then head to the Villa
  107. > Enter Villa to trigger CS4
  108. > Sell at Flower Shop (MD, PC)
  109. > Sell at Tool Shop if you have any MH
  110. > Sell at Ronald's if no flex (VB, CB, BB); otherwise, just sell all on Summer 29 when you would sell flex berries
  111. > Enter cafe by 5pm for cutscene
  112. - Summer 28 (part 2):
  113. > Consider foraging at the Goddess pond now (VB+CB=150G), especially if you got particularly many Golden Eggs
  114. > Grab regular Herbs if you see them, but these are just a backup in case you barely miss the required money
  115. > Head back to the farm to start mining (need +410G under "standard" conditions, i.e., 1 Golden Egg, no early MHs, no Ronald flex)
  116. > You can't mine until you collapse or else you will catch a cold; swing NO MORE than 34 times after sundown!!! (must have <70 fatigue)
  117. > Once you're done mining, if you've met the money reqs, pause once to make note of the time
  118. > Get into position to store the town load and pull out an item, then use your timer to get close to ~4:45am (25s per in-game hour)
  119. > Assuming you leave the cafe at ~4:30pm, you'll arrive on the farm at ~5:30pm
  120. > Pause "buffer" as necessary and pocket the item at ~4:57am to store the load
  121. - Summer 29:
  122. > Make note of the weather--sunny or cloudy?
  123. > Sell minerals to Woody
  124. > Talk Katie at the lake
  125. > Sell late Herbs to Lyla if necessary (~15s after the door closes behind her)
  126. > Head to Brownie Farm, sell 3 chickens, and buy a cow
  127. > Start PTW, then do PTW escape (whistle)
  128. > Back on the farm, put the cow out to pasture
  129. > If the current weather is sunny, sleep until Winter 6; if cloudy, sleep until Winter 7
  130. > On the last sleep, save, quit, and reload (this is necessary to reset the PTW flag; otherwise your cow will only produce Milk S)
  131. - Winter:
  132. > Dry season ends on Winter 7, so YOLO!!!
  133. - Once you have Golden Milk:
  134. > Give Golden Egg and Golden Milk to Katie outside the cafe on a non-rainy non-Monday
  135. > Enter/exit/re-enter the cafe at noon (~45s after the door closes behind her) until the successful cake cutscene
  136. > Head home, sleep a week, and exit the house to finish the ending
  137. > Mondays are Winter 9/16
