  1. CHARGE MAN AI:
  2. - At the start of the fight, Charge Man will rush toward you.
  3.  
  4. - After any rush pattern, Charge Man will do a walk pattern. He walks a fixed distance of about 3/4 of the screen before doing anything else. Twice during this walk he checks to see if you're behind him, and turns around if so (at the 1/3 mark and 2/3 mark).

  6. -At the end of the walk phase, he randomly chooses to shoot coal or do another rush to your location. The secret to being able to jump over a rush pattern is knowing how long the walk phase lasts (so you can predict when it ends and react quickly enough to hop him).

  8. -After coal, he checks your distance from him. At a little under half the screen length, he'll rush to your location. If you're closer than that, he starts walking right away.

  10. TO SUM UP:
  11. -After a walk phase, he'll randomly choose either coal or rush.
  12. -After a rush phase, he'll always walk.
  13. -After a coal phase, he'll rush if you're far away and walk if you're up close.

  15. ADDITIONAL QUIRKS:
  16. * The points at which he stops during a rush pattern don't seem to have a lot of fidelity. In other words, he only checks to see if he's reached you every 8 frames or so. This is why it's possible to avoid being hit by walking away from him, but it also throws people off for when to jump sometimes. It just takes practice.

  18. *During a walk cycle, if he bumps against a wall, he turns around without it affecting his two checks for your location. This can make it hard to determine when he'll make those checks and when his walk phase ends.
