  1. hey, do you think a cobbler's daughter might make a good mahou?
  2. [23:19] <Jran-Kri> Absolutely. Very good work at the time.
  3. [23:19] <Tang> Was it?
  4. [23:21] <Jran-Kri> Well, not very good work. Wouldn't be rich by any stretch of the word. A poor cobbler would still be working-class, but a skilled one could find himself catering to officers, political appointees, and become relatively middle-class.
  5. [23:21] <Tang> Aha.
  6. [23:22] <Tang> Gee, I wonder who might wish for her father to get lucky. :V
  7. [23:23] <Jran-Kri> ha ha ha
  8. [23:23] <Jran-Kri> Yes, a perfect fit
  9. [23:25] <Tang> Other options included innkeeper's daughter or child of, ah, some unlucky royalists.
  10. [23:25] <Tang> *still in boston*, so either spies or rather tightlipped about it
  11. [23:26] <Jran-Kri> That could also be pretty interesting, ye
  12. [23:26] <Tang> ...What if her father's vision is going.
  13. [23:27] <Tang> And she wishes for him to have vision as good as, no *better*, than it used to be. :D
  14. [23:28] <Tang> I kinda want to avoid mimicking any of the canon mahou wishes tho
  15. [23:28] <Tang> and something era-specific might be nice
  16. [23:28] <Jran-Kri> Ah yes, that's a bit too similar to Sayaka fixing Kyousuke's hands.
  17. [23:29] <Jran-Kri> Hmmm
  18. [23:29] <Tang> One option was the daughter of a soldier who just wishes for her father to *come home*
  19. [23:29] <Tang> >then he gets hanged as a deserter
  20. [23:32] <Jran-Kri> Oooh, that would bite
  21. [23:34] <Tang> Bit too monkey's paw though.
  22. [23:37] <Jran-Kri> Maybe a little
  23. [23:39] <Tang> What if someone wished for a guardian angel to watch over her father?
  24. [23:40] <Jran-Kri> That's a good question. I dunno, maybe the Incubator would watch over him? Or they would make a literal guardian angel?
  25. [23:41] <Tang> This must be the work of an [Enemy Stand]
  26. [23:41] <Tang> :p
  27. [23:42] <Jran-Kri> ha ha ha
  28. [23:42] <Tang> Thoughts? xD
  29. [23:42] <Tang> What're some outfits and weapons that fit the era, do you think?
  30. [23:43] <Jran-Kri> It's original and seems fitting.
  31. [23:43] <Tang> Candlestick for a more pious mahou?
  32. [23:43] <Jran-Kri> That would make sense, ye
  33. [23:48] <Tang> Playing a slave would be a bit, uh, of a minefield to write well.
  34. [23:49] <Jran-Kri> Oh yeah. That would be a real touchy subject.
  35. [23:49] <Jran-Kri> There's fertile ground there if you're willing to tackle it, but you would need to be careful.
  36. [23:49] <Tang> Mmm.
  37. [23:50] <Tang> Probably easier to play the stereotypical poster girl of that era instead and work from that and avoid the potential echhh
  38. [23:51] <Jran-Kri> That would be the better option, ye
  39. [23:55] <Tang> Hmm, maybe someone associated with the Revolution? A daughter of the Revolution, as it were?
  40. [23:56] <Tang> Filled with secondhand fervor because half her family's wrapped up in it and she doesn't want to just be sidelined?
  41. [23:58] <Jran-Kri> The Daughters of Liberty were an actual thing, but that was more pre-revolution, and they were a non-combat organization. Point is, there's definitely historical precedent for girls getting fired up about it.
  42. [23:59] <Tang> "Chapters of the Daughters of Liberty throughout the colonies and participated in the war effort by melting down metal for bullets and helping to sew soldiers’ uniforms."
  43. [00:00] <Jran-Kri> Ye, more of a support role, essentially.
  44. [00:02] <Tang> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv2Pb-ezFAQ
  45. [00:02] <Tang> >spinning wheel
  46. [00:02] <Tang> Hmmmmm.
  47. [00:03] <Jran-Kri> Huh. That's a helluva thing
  48. [00:06] <Tang> plenty of joan of arc wannabes even in the historical revolutoon
  49. [00:06] <Tang> *ion
  50. [00:07] <Jran-Kri> Definitely
  51. [00:33] <Tang> Compass maybe but that's for a more roaming mahou.
  52. [00:33] <Tang> Maybe one who wished to talk to a dead relative?
  53. [00:34] <Jran-Kri> That would make sense, ye. Or something to do with the navy
  54. [00:36] <Tang> Flute for a more musical mahou?
  55. [00:37] <Tang> or drums?
  56. [00:39] <Jran-Kri> Both are very good options
