  7. Game: PARANOIA is a darkly humorous game where players publicly attempt to cooperate to achieve an ‘official objective’ while privately accomplishing secret objectives as well. Total Mission Failure is indeed possible. The game’s is about exploring the limits of the setting and engaging in the social satire as much as it is about betrayals and schemes.

Setting: ...when the Corporate Buyout Wars ended, the surviving megacorporations (ruled by powerful supercomputers known as AGIs) inherited a Solar System filled to the brim with wonderful technology and yet empty of life. The megacorporations put their surviving employees within utopian simulations to better "exploit" their human resources, and then banded together to create the "AGI Federation".

  11. You're a Transhuman police officer. Your goal is to protect the AGI Federation from its many internal and external threats: the Drifters (rogue AGIs who wish to destroy the Federation), the Irrationals (humans that are disillusioned by the endless hedonism of the utopian simulations and seek to escape to dystopian reality), and the Players (inter-dimensional horrors that disrupt the functioning of the AGI Federation and its simulations for their own entertainment).

  13. Play your cards right - and you might get promoted to a leadership role. Don’t - and the AGIs will erase your clone template.

  17. Additional Info: We will be using Lasers and Treason, and allowing people to create their own characters (very quick, just define your stats and create 1 R&D equipment). If you are a player, you will be given a mutant power - but you are not allowed to register it. The style of the missions will likely lean Classic.

  19. Expect: Deaths, Treason, Dark Comedy, Hostile World, PvP Combat, Semi-Cooperative/Semi-Competitive Gameplay, Clone Backups (so if you die, you can come back to life fairly quickly), Fear and Ignorance
