- Reality TV being reality changes literally everything about the premise.
- * TV format/editing draws everything out and makes everything worse
- * "Big Personalities" in reality TV means weird, obnoxious people. I don't want to give these sort of people attention.
- * 24/7 observation goes from a plot device in a story (that is presented as creepy) to legit creepy in real life.
- * Being stuck together goes from a plot device in a story to "oh they did it for money, ok".
- * Big Brother has no script, no themes, no overarching narrative. These are the strongest aspect of a VN, even one themed after reality TV.
- * TV editing needs to be mentioned again because I really loathe it
- * In VNs, especially murder mystery VNs, deductions need to be arrived at logically. Despite the twists and turns in a DR / AA murder case, at the end of the day, the logical train of thought always wins the day. In reality, people's votes can be subject to personal preference and whims, which does not always make for a satisfying conclusion. If the classmates in a DR games randomly voted against the murderer you've just cornered because they liked him or something, it'd be pretty garbage.
