  1. Omnibelt: Can you explain your side of the events with Knight that led to your departure and what you may do in the future to avoid it?
  2.
  3. Akinok: Yeah, totally. Knight has always rubbed me the wrong way, his text comes across as incredibly arrogant to me, and confrontational. I was on a bad downward spiral at the time, and in my mind the move from a gm to a normal player was the right one. Sadly all it did was remove one of the only remaining filters I had. Which was the "Professionalism" I brought up earlier. It is just insanely not OK for a gm to attack a player like that. But another player? Still not OK, but something in the realm of not insane. It was just the perfect timing of irritation at him, upset at being wrong on a ruling, tone being impossible in text, and being fed up with the environment.

  5. As soon as I said it I realized it was just not a good place for me to be. It wasn't even a "I can't believe I did that, without thinking." It was a "I stopped and really thought about it, and decided I didn't care." Clearly if I was in that state, then the environment wasn't right for me at the time and I needed to leave.

  7. As for the future? As we talked about, just taking a break if I start to feel that way again. It's insane how a week or two away can just clear your head. All the annoyances just become super petty and not worth it. This is a gaming community, none of it truly matters compared to things like my little brother looking at colleges or close friends going through hard times.

  9. Distance gives some perspective. Do I still not care for Knight? Yes. Do I regret not giving him more of a chance an allowing myself to try to change my mind about him? Also yes.
  10.
  11. Omnibelt: That's a fair answer. As it has come up time and time again, not all the GM team is going to like eachother, or like all of the players that we work with. At the end of the day a little forethought into how we act and speak, respect for the people we are talking to, and a consideration from where they are coming from can go a long way.

  13. We may not all like eachother but at the very least we have to respect one another and be respectful to one another, regardless of the different view points we may have. It's a struggle sometimes, I get it. That's why these breaks are a good thing. It allows you the chance to calm down, take stock of what really matters to you, and to come back fresh and open minded.

  15. It seems from your answer like you understand that since your last stint and for me that's good enough personally.
  16.
  17. Akinok: Thank you, is there anything else?
  18.
  19. Omnibelt: No, that'll be it. Thanks for taking the time to answer our extra question
  20.
  21. Akinok: No problem, Have a good day Counsel person Omni.
