- [02:58] Yuri says, "Your Majesty."
- [02:58] Yuri asks, "Do you have a moment?"
- [02:58] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Sure."
- [02:58] Yuri says, "I-"
- [02:59] Yuri says, "Have two things on my plate..."
- [02:59] Yuri says, "I um. I need to improve my control of time magic."
- [02:59] Yuri says, "And."
- [02:59] Yuri says, "..."
- [02:59] Yuri says, "I need a hand with some super important task."
- [03:00] Alexander rei Petrakis says, "Let's start with the urgent task then."
- [03:00] Alexander rei Petrakis asks, "What is it?"
- [03:02] Averts his gaze. This was probably the thing that needed to be taken care of after - or maybe just... delayed. Why would he even mention it?
- "I... have to clean up the whole wall of Nysea. I-.. I'm not sure why Miss Anastasia wants me to, but... I figured that if there was a way to make it faster, time magic would help."
- Impeccable logic.
- (Yuri)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [03:04] She crossed her arms.
- "To help train your muscles, obviously!" She said with a nod.
- (Anastasia ven Astor)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [03:14] "Time magic to help accomplish a task? Hmm. I suppose I could help with that," he admits. Though, it did seem somewhat beneath using such magic, did it not?
- Regardless, the Petrakis dusts his hands off and glances down to the nearby wall.
- "What was your idea to start, Yuri?"
- (Alexander rei Petrakis)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [03:18] With his idea rather well-received he seemed a bit less nervous to push his thoughts forward.
- "Well- When I trained with Atlas I figured that if I wanted to be able to overwhelm and turn the odds on their head - to be the change in battle I.. uhm. I needed to bring all of my will in my sword. To make it special not because of its craftsmanship, but because of the person holding it.
- I-.. I ran into a problem, and that's swinging and properly hitting. I can hardly swing faster, so... I figured I'd use time magic to try and peer into the future like Atlas.
- Didn't work at all." He shook his head, disheartened by that. Though he quickly bounced back.
- "But. I.. had a moment when my fist seemed to have sort of-... Skipped ahead? I don't know how I pulled it off. I was mad, and I didn't want to miss Lain's face or have Liana stop it, so-.. Yeah. I-I uh. Forget about that- It's resolved! Mostly! But the important part is that I think I used time magic then. And it sort-of worked."
- (Yuri)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [03:24] "I know what you're talking about. Using time magic to increase the frequency of your swings and strikes. Let's head over to the wall and I'll instruct you on how to go about it," Alexander says, moving off and after the young boy- teenager now.
- (Alexander rei Petrakis)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [03:28] Yuri moves to the wall with the King in tow, making sure to give the people on the other side of it a mere peek before he brought his attention to the task at hand.
- "It's. It's less about the speed of them. I-.. I think it just sort of.. skipped ahead? Like my fist moved through time while it didn't advance and...
- ... oh. That's a frequency. I think. Maybe? It's own pace - for sure."
- He talked too much, though he knew the task at hand. With a bucket of water placed next to him and a rag in his hand, he awaited for Alexander's instructions.
- (Yuri)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [03:49] Alexander does not comment on the people on the other side of the wall, not at all, instead, his attention is on Yuri, this odd task of 'cleaning the wall', and helping the boy with his training.
- With the reply Yuri gives, Alexander decides to impart knowledge on what exactly the boy sought to achieve.
- It was almost like stopping time itself, except more akin to skipping ahead, like the accelerate spell so many magi had used before. A breath rises the Petrakis chest and he draws his blade, considering how to teach this odd application of time magic.
- "What you want to do is like accelerating the flow of your movements, except taking it to the next level and directly sending your strike into the future. Skipping ahead as you said. Explaining everything in detail, while nice, won't really get the point across. Instead practice will," he explains. And with that, Alexander brings his blade back and makes a single swing, in which blade splits through air and yet, just as it moved to strike, it skips a few frames, as if the blade itself appeared at one point and disappeared from the other.
- It returns to his side, and then he sheathes it.
- "Start working on it while cleaning the wall. Use your mana, your magic to push your hand through time and we'll see how you go, Yuri."
- (Alexander rei Petrakis)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [04:06] The young knight inspected the blade as it cut through the air, shifting a few centimeters more than it should have in the midst of its swing. This. This was exactly what he meant - like a swing had been brought forward in time, passing ahead of everything and... erasing the gap between itself and its destination.
- Yuri was rather... happy to actually have found someone who could understand his nonsensical words. Sure, a blade was what he'd practice with later on but the base concept? Grasping such was through magic. If anything practicing with a rag would leave nobody wounded. Maybe wet, but wounded? No.
- And so, the young knight dipped his rag into the water and began rubbing at the dirt and dust upon the wall, trying to make it shine while sparks of green built-up at his fingertips.
- Focus. How did he do it last time? He couldn't just be angry at the wall like he'd been angry at Avlainn. Not only that, but that... episode - those times were long gone. They were all friends again. It was... going to be better. For sure.
- Still, no advancement on his actual use of time magic, being too busy reminiscing about the bad times instead of looking at the task ahead of him. This monumental task of cleaning up the whole wall. It would take forever.
- A breath was drawn in, and Yuri focused on the rhythm of his heart itself, using it like a metronome of sorts.
- Badum, Badum, Badum, Badum
- Timing was key. To move in-betwen those beats and overcome this self-imposed rhythm. A greater spark of green surged forth with his first attempt, and while he was faster? It wasn't there quite yet. No. This was merely speeding up. Skipping ahead required... more.
- Definitely.
- Yuri's features gave a small frown as he gave more of his mana to the process. Trying to isolate his hands, to isolate his body within time itself in order to just...
- Skip.
- .. Barely. But there definitely was an ounce of hope in his motion. Yuri remained silent, deciding not to bother his King any further with his questions. He'd been answered and his theory and thoughts were merely reconfirmed by Alexander's own demonstration.
- To be disconnected from the flow of time itself, even if briefly, was a monumental task.
- One that began with washing the wall surrounding Nysea. Swipes were enhanced and used as practice for his art. In no time, the wall would look better, though... some dashes of dirt remained stuck on its surface where Yuri's experimentation went better, having him skip over the dirt completely to finish his motion.

- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [04:23] Alexander says little more for a long while. And he would not wait around forever, but it seemed Yuri had started to get the hang of it. At first, it's a mere application of the basics and soon it becomes a proper use that actually becomes worthy. Hand skips forward.
- Dirt is missed and Yuri keeps working. Alexander does not give much more advice for he was not someone to pester but it seemed Yuri had gotten the hang of it and thus, it was done.
- An approving nod leaves the Petrakis.
- (Alexander rei Petrakis)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [04:26] It's embarrassment that left Yuri when he reached the corner, looking back and realizing how much he'd missed. Quietly would he go back to properly clean things up. His duty came first, the exercise was merely an opportunity. Before the approving nod of the King, Yuri made sure to properly finish a side before getting to the next, repeating the drill over. And over. Until he'd get a better hang of the manipulation.
