  5. Banana : punish my reaction to banansa toss. So mix how I deal with banana.
  6. Gimp with arrow, Nair on his upB.

  9. Lylat : the tilts make the edgeguards easier, while harming Diddy's banana, and the platforms are the right height to get Usmash kills
  10. BF, DL : the platforms let Pit pressure from below. But help Diddy from juggling.
  11. Sv : bad, small and static stages, low blastzone for Fthrow kills.
  12. T&C : small blastzones and platforms don't help.
  13. FD : Diddy kong likes flat stages.
  14. Grizz : Pick BF, SV. Ban T&C, FD

  22. Diddy has a better ground game than us. His neutral = banana, dtilt, grab, Fair, sideB.
  23. Footsie outside of his dash grab range to react and spotdodge/roll.
  24. Camp him if I have the lead.
  25. Pressure when he wants to set up his banana. Don't let him pull banana for free. I can punish the banana pull on reaction.
  26. Play more passive when he has a banana.
  27. Stay grounded because of Fair.
  28. Look for sideB patterns. Diddy will likely use grab at low percent and dtilt at high percent.

  31. Do not throw any laggy move . Even spaced. Most diddy with bananas will stay grounded.
  32. His banana is a pressure tool : what is important is not the banana, but what comes after. Mix up the answer so he cannot punish it.
  33. When Diddy has banana remember that he is completely limited to only throwing banana or sideB. He can't fair/dtilt/grab.
  34. Catching banana : On the ground you can get it by doing a rising fair/dair. Dash attack to grab is really unsafe.
  35. If I get the banana try to put it on a place he will struggle reaching. Or make him drop shield with a dash dance, run, foxtrot back and forth etc. If I see an openining, throw then dash grab/dash attack/fsmash.
  36. With banana : If he tries to either monkey flip, or dash jump, jump above him and do a z-drop banana to fast fall bair.

  41. His options and how to beat them.
  42. His Fair has crazy range and priority, but isn't safe on shield. Dont contest it, just powershield it and punish. Can crouch under it. SH Fair : cannot do anything before he lands.
  43. Bair can be outdisjoint but it needs to be pre-emptive
  44. Monkey flip : run to the end of it and put my punish there (like pivot grab). Not disjointed. hit in front & below. Optimal location : near the top and his back
  45. 20 frames before the grab comes out. Kick comes out 6 frames after the 20 frames from grab. React to sparkle at the start of it and punish.
  46. Cannot special after he sideB attack variant.

  49. Juggling
  50. He is a fast faller, I can combo him well.
  51. His sideB has two different ranges that can be used to escape. He can B reverse three times (sideB, B, downb).
  52. Little options to land.
  53. Guess/Predict where he will drift. Preemptively catch him drifting but also have the lag ends to catch his landing if my prediction fails.
  54. Diddy popgun and banana mixups after side b should always be aware of.

  57. Edge guard
  58. I body him offstage
  59. It is easy to gimp his upB. But horizonally, it is hard to edge guard Diddy because of his sideB. So prefer arrows.
  60. Edge guard his upB : stay in front of the ledge and react to him releasing upB with Fair/Nair.
  61. If I trump him, he cannot monkey flip back on.
  62. Throw him offstag. Look for sideB pattern and punish it.

  66. Try to land away from Diddy.

  68. Combos & kills
  69. The kill moves you have to watch out for is dtilt>usmash. Dtilt is frame 4 and we can't punish it OoS. Either use side b to eat through the dtilt, or just roll behind him and do a 3 hit jab.
  70. Banana>fsmash and fthrow.
  71. When your near the ledge of the stage and you're at high percentage, don't drop your shield until Diddy does the ff fair.
  72. Usmash : DI away from Diddy. If the runs Usmash he can end in my back, so I need to adapt DI.
  73. Diddy has a hard time killing pit even with dtilt confirms. Especially on stages such as bf
  74. D-tilt to d-tilt is not true at low percents,

  77. Test how much lag his downB has.

  79. If there is a banana on the ground you can, dash, hold down as you are dashing and press a to grab the banana and not do a dash attack.
