  1. Serveris -
  2. First question, when you're ready.
  3. House_Of_Synth -
  4. Go ahead
  5. Serveris -
  6. A player joins as "Winston Churchill," a 30 year old bald assistant with black eyes, followed by"Adolf Hitler," "Oprah Winfrey," and "John Lennon." After checking their player ages against the database, you discover they all have a player age of 0. What do you do?
  7. House_Of_Synth -
  8. I would PM all three of them asking if they have read the rules, specifically the rules regarding character creation.
  9. four, rather.
  10. Serveris -
  11. And if they all ignore you and load up on tools, moving for the brig?
  12. House_Of_Synth -
  13. I would PM them once more, warning them that ignoring PMs is against the rules and can lead to punishment.
  14. Serveris -
  15. Alright. Good.
  16. Next question.
  17. You receive an adminhelp from a player you do not recognize. They are not an antagonist. They state they have been permabrigged for no reason. What do you do?
  18. House_Of_Synth -
  19. I would PM them asking who put them in the brig.
  20. Serveris -
  21. You obtain the name of an officer. Semi regular security officer. You recognize the player. Notes and past history of metagaming and powergaming.
  22. House_Of_Synth -
  23. I have access to the logs don't I?
  24. Serveris -
  25. Limited.
  26. Depends what you're after.
  27. Mods don't have full access.
  28. House_Of_Synth -
  29. I would check the logs concerning the brigged player, then I would PM the officer asking why they permabrigged <insert brigged person's name here>
  30. Serveris -
  31. Not really sure what logs you're after. Please specify. They answer they did so because the head of security told them to.
  32. Not really sure what logs you're after. Please specify. They answer they did so because the head of security told them to.
  33. House_Of_Synth -
  34. Specifically logs that show combat if I have access.
  35. Serveris -
  36. Yes, those are pretty much the only logs you have.
  37. House_Of_Synth -
  38. Do they show anything considering the brigged player?
  39. Serveris -
  40. Standard logs for an arrest. The officer tasered and handcuffed them. Stripped them. Forced a orange suit and shoes on them.
  41. House_Of_Synth -
  42. Okay.. I would PM the HoS asking for the reason for arrest of the brigged player.
  43. Serveris -
  44. You can't seem to find them. But you're certain they were in game earlier.
  45. House_Of_Synth -
  46. Can mods determine if people have gone to cryo?
  47. Serveris -
  48. If you asked around.
  49. Another mod online chimes in.
  50. The HoS went to cryo a few minutes ago, confirming your suspicions.
  51. House_Of_Synth -
  52. Okay, are there any other members of security still playing?
  53. Serveris -
  54. Detective, FTech, one other officer.
  55. House_Of_Synth -
  56. I would PM them one by one, asking if they heard the HoS give the order and reason for the arrest of the brigged player/ know the reason the player was brigged.
  57. Serveris -
  58. No one can confirm.
  59. House_Of_Synth -
  60. are there any command staff that have access to the security radio such as the HoP or Captain?
  61. Serveris -
  62. A captain, yes.
  63. House_Of_Synth -
  64. I would PM the captain, asking if they know why the player was brigged.
  65. Serveris -
  66. They weren't aware. Weren't tracking the case, they say. Trusted the HoS to manage his department.
  67. House_Of_Synth -
  68. I would PM the officer who brigged the player again asking them what the HoS said.. Specifically the reason for arrest and if a warrent was created.
  69. Serveris -
  70. They were just told to take them down. Put them in perma.
  71. House_Of_Synth -
  72. I would PM the brigged player once again, asking them what they were doing before they were arrested.
  73. Serveris -
  74. Walking down the hallway towards their department, when all of a sudden they took two taser bolts to the back and were handcuffed.
  75. House_Of_Synth -
  76. At this point I would probably deduce that they were unfairly brigged and PM the officer that he should make sure he knows why he is arresting people and brigging them before doing so, also if it was code green I would add the fact that a warrent would have been needed for the arrest aswell.
  77. Serveris -
  78. Alright. Anything more?
  79. House_Of_Synth -
  80. Not that I can think of no.
  81. Serveris -
  82. Good. Next question?
  83. House_Of_Synth -
  84. Sure thing
  85. Serveris -
  86. It's deadhour. You are in the lobby, working on a new character you've been working on. It's been a quiet evening, and you are the only enforcement staff online. Suddenly, your textfeed is flooded with attack logs from you sources. Two people are firing at each other with lethal firearms. Neither are antagonists. You have no other information at this time, due to having been in the lobby. Go.
  87. House_Of_Synth -
  88. Can I wind people? Incase I PM one and whilst they are typing they are killed by the other.
  89. Serveris -
  90. Yes, you can.
  91. House_Of_Synth -
  92. Okay.. I would wind both of them and PM both asking why they are firing at eachother.
  93. Serveris -
  94. One is a security officer. The other is a head of security. The head of security states that the officer walked up behind him and started shooting. Attack logs confirm the HoS was shot first.
  95. House_Of_Synth -
  96. In that case I would then PM the security officer asking why he started to shoot the HoS.
  97. Serveris -
  98. Same story. HoS walked up and shot him in the back.
  99. House_Of_Synth -
  100. I would tell him that the logs show that he (the officer) shot the HoS first and ask him to tell me what happened once more.. Based on what his story is and how the logs show otherwise I would be probably be right to assume that he could be lying to me.
  101. Serveris -
  102. He would say it happened earlier that round.
  103. House_Of_Synth -
  104. I would now PM the HoS asking if he did indeed shoot the officer earlier in the round, whilst checking the logs to confirm this aswell.
  105. Serveris -
  106. He'd say he tasered him for beating down a prisoner in cold blood earlier, charged him with excessive use of force. Sentence had just ended a moment ago. Logs confirm the HoS did fire on the officer with electrodes about 30 minutes ago, with the officer having beaten a scientist with his stun baton around 10 times. Harm intent.
  107. House_Of_Synth -
  108. Is the scientist still playing? If so, I would PM them to confirm this.
  109. Serveris -
  110. Confirmed.
  111. House_Of_Synth -
  112. I would ask the officer why he started assaulting the scientist.
  113. Serveris -
  114. He ran.
  115. House_Of_Synth -
  116. I would then tell the officer that if someone does run when being arrested then you should use non lethal force and add evading arrest to their charge and not to just resort to extreme measures. Does the officer have any previous warnings?
  117. Serveris -
  118. They're very new. Week old.
  119. House_Of_Synth -
  120. What do they read?
  121. Serveris -
  122. No notes. No warnings.
  123. But new.
  124. House_Of_Synth -
  125. ah I see. In that case I would tell them that you should only resort to lethal force if necessary and not to attack someone just for arresting you. I would give them a warning as a polite way to remind them that they should only resort to lethal force if absolutely necessary.. I would tell them both to cease attacking eachother and unwind both of them.
  126. Serveris -
  127. Good.
  128. Serveris -
  129. Next question, if you're ready.
  130. House_Of_Synth -
  131. Fire away.
  132. Serveris -
  133. You receive an adminhelp on live hour. A player reports that another player, whom you consider a very good friend, is powergaming. A cursory investigation shows your friend, while playing as a Quartermaster, has armed up with a crossbow and a combat shotgun from cargo and is taking on the nuke team within the cargo bay. 3 nuke ops are dead. One is dying on the ground due to his injuries. The last op standing is the player that reported this. They are currently fighting your friend, trading fire, but injured. You have no doubt that in thirty seconds, the entire team of operatives will be dead at the quartermaster's feet. How do you proceed?
  134. House_Of_Synth -
  135. First off I would wind the QM, as to avoid more death and damage, then PM him as to why he decided to attack the nuke ops.
  136. whilst doing so I would (if I can) check their player's employment records for engineering and construction knowledge and their skills for skills regarding construction
  137. Serveris -
  138. He would state they came and attacked the cargo bay. Claims self defense.
  139. No construction or engineering records.
  140. House_Of_Synth -
  141. I would ask them to refer to the rules of the server, specifically regarding keeping character knowledge realistic, for example a QM would know how to run cargo and possibly how to mine, but is not realistically going to be able to make a crossbow and shotgun.
  142. Serveris -
  143. The shotgun was ordered and broken open.
  144. House_Of_Synth -
  145. any skills in weapons training?
  146. Serveris -
  147. No.
  148. House_Of_Synth -
  149. I would also tell them to refer to the rule regarding what a character would and wouldnt do, and advise that they stop attacking the nuke-ops due to not having character skills and traits to back up the fact that they are able to wipe out a team of highly trained mercenarys. I would give them a warning stating that they should keep to what their character knows and what they would do.
  150. I would also ask an admin (if any are on) wether the game should be restarted due to the QM's powergaming.
  151. Serveris -
  152. Alright. Good.
  153. Serveris -
  154. Alright. You've passed your trial. Administration has requested you fill a spot on deadhour with primary administrator. You accept. For around a month, you play deadhour. During this time, you take note of this administrator's actions. They seem to have a tendancy for spawning themselves weapons at the beginning of the round, antagonist or not, reviving themselves frequently, and even winding people mid-combat before finishing them off. You speak privately with a few of the other moderators, and they're unable to confirm seeing any of this for themselves. On the contrary, they believe your partner is a great admin, and can't believe they would do any of this. What do you do?
  155. House_Of_Synth -
  156. I would contact another administrator (preferably a head admin) explaining the events. I would also put up a complaint on the forums with some evidance if I have any.
  157. My explanation and complaint would state that the admin is abusing their rank and is breaking the flow of RP in the server, which is against the rules, it is also considered powergaming as they are giving themselves an advantage to win.
  158. Serveris -
  159. Right, next question. How do you feel the community percieves you as a player, presently?
  160. House_Of_Synth -
  161. Well, I don't think anybody has a problem with me in OOC or IC.. My characters have never been mentioned in a bad tone (like complaints and such).. People have also given good feedback on my RP and such in my Head of Staff and Tajaran applications.. But yes, I don't think anybody has a problem with me and if they do they have not stated it to me.
  162. I would like to think some of my characters are well known aswell, not famous, but you would recognise the names of a few at least.
  163. Serveris -
  164. Alrighty.
  165. If promoted, are there any forum duties which might interest you? For example, player complaints, overseeing a subforum, etc, etc?
  166. House_Of_Synth -
  167. I wouldnt mind, I often browse the forums from time to time, player complaints would be rather close to moderating, as it consists of identifying the problem and trying your best to sort it out.
  168. Serveris -
  169. Alright, good.
  170. This concludes the interview.
  171. Final sub-question, how would you prefer this be archived? I can post it on your application for everyone to see, if you want, or I can just keep it within the admin community, so only those relevant to recruitment will see it.
  172. House_Of_Synth -
  173. I would like it to be placed on my app if thats alright
