Dream Factory

Greetings ladies and gentlemen of /x/ - /jp/. Well, it is time for a another story.

1 December 2024, New moon. I'm in my home, trying to take a break form those supernatural bloody experiences. Last one was really intense and really took a toll on my body and spirit, guess using knight powers of doom like a damned dragon ball main character have a price. Mary was right about our dream selves/doppelgangers, we can indeed be hurt and our real selves getting hurt, or in my case; Being extremely exhausted. Its like being linked by quantum entanglement and superposition beyond the borders of reality and dreams. Quantum physics and metaphysics are closer to magic, esoteric, divine, whatever the hell than actual science, guess humanity will have to learn how to philosophy again as well to remember than science aren't a cult but a tool to get a better understanding about the world or god, I know, I digress. This time, I'll try to get a good sleep and I will not peek outside and at the moon, even if it is new and shrouded in darkness. But I still have this damned unquenchable thirst for adventure and a lot of questions running wild in my head; What exactly are Avalon and Camelot? Who are really those Watchers, Astartes, Old mysterious man on a boat floating in the dark? How do I control those damned powers of doom? And not only when I go feral or berserk, because of my instincts taking control over myself! What exactly are my relations with Maribel and Yukari? I know than Maribel rely a lot on me to protect her when she dig too far into the pits of danger and I have to suppress my thirst for adventure for that, witch really annoy me. I'm not delusional enough to imagine she have any romantic feelings or maybe I am too dumb and asocial to read the emotions of others. As for Yukari, I know she's a Youkai and Youkais eat humans, simple as that. I doubt you would take the effort to create a link with the cattle, then it is the same thing with her. Well, I have a bloody torrent of thoughts and I just think than I am overthinking stuff. I shall go sleep and shut the brain off.

I open my eyes and see myself into a abandoned post-soviet factory liminal space at sunset, there are rust, broken concrete, ceiling and windows with shattered glass shards on the floor while the red light of the setting sun pierce the cold darkness and reveal on how much the damned second law had gnaw this place trough the fangs of entropy. Well, as much than I enjoy this surreal scenery this also tell me than I can't escape form the influence of the moon or maybe there are subliminal messages than I don't get yet. While I'm at it, why not explore the place? So I get out of the room I was in and enter a way way larger room, production room I guess? Judging by the worn out posters and plans, this was a iron factory, or maybe a train one? There was worn out tracks but I don't know anything about industrial stuff or read Cyrillic. Well, as a urbex enjoyer and almost got into trouble more than one time because of it, this is a fine place since it look abandoned and forgotten and I won't mind some exercise because it's kind of bloody cold, expect being careful about bloody shards, those damned things can carry nasty diseases. There is a particular room in the upper layers of the factory which the red rays of the setting sun seem to glow brighter as to beacon me into going here, well just in case I check if my sword is here, there are the black scarf around me and I can feel the grab with my hand, good. Well, just a bit of stretching and good to go. Needless to say than I runned and jumped on pipes, stairs and another industrial platforms like a monkey and I even surprised myself of being so agile, even do a Tarzan on a iron chain. Blimey, I should do that more often. Well, I reached the door of the room, seem like the room of the director of this factory. I'm in top shape so I'm getting hired, I think, who knows? I open the door and see Yukari in her evening dress, sitting on a old chair behind a wooden desk, staring at the taiga covered by snow reflecting the setting sun. Well, without a word I sit on the desk and implying than I look at the same things than her.

“Under the darkness, brighter are the light. Over the doom, hope rages.”

Yukari like to greet others like that, immediately working them into her train of thoughts to probably manipulate them. Part of the charm I suppose.

“Over the dualities, none I am, yet fully defining who they are. Under the barriers, yet looking at the top.”

Yukari maintained a silence after I said this. She'll probably broke it soon.

“This place will soon become part of Gensokyo...”

“Everyone forgot about this place isn't it? The border between dreams and reality are fading away on this place.”

“So, you noticed?”

“Ever heard of liminal spaces? Those are pictures of often forgotten places with a eerie atmosphere, when you begin to feel it though yourself then you can guess than the borders are fading.”

“I see... But this is not only because it is forgotten, but also because this place was part of a dream. A dream to expend, prosper, conquest. Gensokyo are the realm of the dreams and the forgotten. Gensokyo doesn't share the same plane as yours, we have a barrier to make sure of that and protect ourselves from going back to the real world. This barrier also protect us form outside threats such as Lunarians, Hell, Demons, Gods, Celestials and anything like that. I bet the Black Knight would love to fight some of them, especially the Lunarians~”

“Mmmmm... So that's why Gensokyo are almost never bothered by entities and look much smaller than it actually is... That's maybe why Human beliefs would have a way stronger effect on Gensokyo. Do Humans in Gensokyo actually possess superpowers?”

“Some do, they're able to master magic or commune with the Gods and can get some real nasty powers, some even become Youkais or just get possessed by a Demon, in must case they must be killed before they reach those states, we have a shrine maiden for that actually. The nature of those lands make way more easier for Gods to sustain themselves and even materialize themselves, even better! Some humans can reach godhood!”

“Impressive... But what's exactly the deal of Lunarians? What those aliens did to you?”

“Oh, I'm happy you ask. Lunarians are superhumans; not to be confused with Moon Rabbits or other species that are born on the moon. Lunarians are ancient thousands years old psychically awakened humans or just gods that migrated form Earth to Moon because they found it impure using the Dream World, A world where anything is possible. A layer of what you would call the Immaterium in your case.”

“Immaterium?!” I was surprised to hear Yukari use a term form Warhammer 40000 and then I remember than it is also called Sea of Souls and me and Yukari spoke a lot about seas and stuff like that... “Elaborate.”

“Dream World is a psychic world ruled by the sentience of lifeforms and since it is a psychic world, laws of physics can be bent and not deep enough in the Immaterium to have constant Demons attacks or even worse. You still have to be weary of them in the Dream World, especially of Bakus since they use the dreams as food and can possess others. So, yeah; Lunarians used their powers to physically enter the Dream World then travel trough the void of space to the Moon. To return to Lunarians themselves, They're a bunch of elitist superhumans or aliens for the Lunar Borns that believe in purity and are neither alive or dead. They also possess technology of thousands of years more advanced than Earth and a infinite source of energy up there, lives on a paradise created by and for themselves and enslaved the creatures that lived on the moon before them.”

“What about their powers and the difference between a Lunarian born on Earth and one born on the Moon? I'm genuinely curious.”

“Well, they're individually far more powerful than Youkais and Humans and this is even more true for the Lunar Born. They all possess a sort of immortality, god-like abilities and able to suppress ours and add to that their superhuman physiognomy you get a real scary foe. They're also able to manipulate lifeforms on Earth using the Moon light and psychically receptive people can react to it depending on the phase of it and developing abilities form them and even become Youkais, for a Human it is dangerous to look at a Lunarian because they're insanity including and highly aggressive. They're also possess weaknesses such as exposure to impurity and arrogance, as for the Lunar Born they also possess everything but amplified to the extreme to the point than some of them shun the Earth Born and/or the Lunar dogma, they're also quite the loose cannons but they can be killed in battle. They would hate you in particular because of your deep link with nature as they hate it.”

“That explain a lot of things, you got beef with those pompous buggers because you can't fight them head on or maybe there is something else in your mind about them but you don't wanna tell me about it. As long those aliens don't stand in my way, it is fine.”

“If they stand in your way, you'll fight them I presume?”

“Correct. I took a stance and a pledge to you in Camelot and I attend to keep it fully.”

Yukari let out a sigh.

“I want but I can't keep you in Gensokyo... As a sage, I can't get powerful humans that might disturb the balance in Gensokyo, even if my heart want you to stay.”

“Don't you worry about it, I'll never stay long in Gensokyo because it is not my place to be. I don't belong here, I still have things to do and to live on Earth. I have quests to do and I am a adventurer at soul and essence, Avalon would be my final destination once I kick the bucket as I keep being draw by this place.”

“I see... At least when I'm with you I have the power of the knight of Avalon.”

Yukari sounded sad...

“You do not have only the power, you have the heart. Power are nothing without the heart. My flames are the manifestation of my will to protect and fight, those who dare harming you, will feel the blazing wrath of my blade on them.”

Yukari vanished and reappeared sitting on my lap embracing and clinging to me on my side, at this point I'm not surprised anymore by her shenanigans. Heh, I suppose she's enjoying to hear my damned knight speech and deep at heart, she's a woman with a need of protection than only strong men in body and spirit can give, she's just like Maribel on that point.

Well, you probably think; “How the hell a human with just a sword and sometimes a shield and armor, who can only do some white flames and fart a black mist, but can't do bullet hell fights or fire bloody twin-kamehamehas. Think he can protect a mysterious, eldritch, superintelligent Youkai with reality-god-breaking superpowers of doom? He is THAT confident on himself or deeply delusionally arrogant? Is schizophrenia have finally claim this bloody fool?” Well, it is up to your free will to decide that, but I'll quote a certain shrine maiden; “You can't let yourself being held by common sense.”
Anyway, needless to say than Yukari is taller, heavier and look more mature than Maribel with way longer blonde, close to golden hair but it's is better to not to speak too much about her weight or age as women tend to be quite susceptible about it, you can thanks my grandma for her lifesaving advices. Though her embrace I could feel her body heat and of course her damned large voluptuous pillows and pointers?! Is she wearing anything under her dress?! Bloody hell! Alright, I shall focus on someone other than my raging lustful thoughts, but on what?! I wished that old mysterious man was here to help me like last time!

“So, say. Lunarians are ancient psychic humans that moved on the Moon, that mean humans of today can also move on the Moon or I'm missing something?”

“Well, there is a catch. Humanity's psychic collective are like a giant dim candle made out of a bunch of small flames that are slowly getting eaten away by demons. Ironically, you can see it in large cities where spirituality are completely gone with populations living like automatons. Sleep, eat, move, work, repeat. You can see it especially in Asia with people that have been eaten so much than they look soulless. Humanity are slowly taking the path of the machine and for those who are psychically awoken and somehow managed to travel to the moon, they would be send back on spot or just outright killed if spotted by a Lunar born. In a nutshell, they don't want to do anything with humans.”

“Mmmmmm...”

Well, I've been on the Moon two times but for a short one with Maribel and Yukari and so far we didn't get spotted  by those.

“Say, since it is getting cold, won't you like some vodka? Onis absolutely love this~”

Oh damn, Yukari's god-blessed chest are rubbing against me again, I didn't even noticed but since when my bloody arm was surrounding her wrist?! And why it is me who drag her even closer to me?! Oh shit, I guess I do things than I don't even realise! And now, she ask for me to drink some booze! Curse my definitive weakness for large chested blondes!

“I don't think than drinking poison to cure coldness is a good idea...”

“Well, I'll keep you hot~ Perhaps you're not brave enough to drink?”

Then something snapped inside of me, No one shall put my bravery in question! She might be playing me but I don't care! Absolutely no one call me a coward!

“Give. Me. That.”

Yukari smirked, satisfied of her damned coup and gapped some bottles. They're already opened so well, let's do this! I'll show her how we drink vodka in Europe! Holy hell! This thing burn the throat!

“Are you sure than you're not a Oni? I mean, no one drink one bottle in one go...”

“Miss, I'm a pure blooded European! This are but mere water on us!”

Bloody hell, now I gotta put on my damned act... The thing is autism and alcohol are one hell of explosive cocktail and... Oh bollocks! I think that was a bad idea!

“What's the matter? You're feeling unwell all of a sudden?”

This bloody grog making me all upset and its damn burning! I gotta let it out whatever if Yukari will mock me! I open my mouth and release a huge blazing breath of white flames of doom like a dragon! I feel way better now.

“You're scary sometimes...”

“Heh, I didn't know I could spew fire like this, but I feel way better now.”

But I think the booze still have a effect on me as I feel less on control of myself... I get up of the table while princess carrying Yukari.

“Heh?! What are you doing?!”

Yukari flushes lightly and cling on me tighter on a instinct.

“I'm taking you for a trip to the I have absolutely no idea where we are going, I just have enough of this place.”

My black mist power activate itself and surround me and Yukari.

“Hold on! Do you have any control on your powers?!”

“I have no idea! But that is what make it fun! Let chaos lead our dance!”

I give a pulse of strength on my legs and jump out of the factory then on a instant the taiga let place to the forest of Avalon. I land on a branch of one of the probably infinite trees that make up this forest.

“Huh? I never saw this forest! Where are we and what is that forest?! There are no dimensional boundaires or anything like that!”

“I don't know either, but we're on Avalon and I'm the only one that can access that forest with my black mist.”

I again give pulses of strength and jump trees on trees with the agility of a monkey while still carrying Yukari on my arms. On a another instant we end up on a hot summer night with a familiar scenery in front of me, This is the bloody chalet when Yukari and me met on that mountain, probably the Youkai one.

“Wait, you can end up on Gensokyo by will?! A little forest walk?!”

“Its seem so. Old humans managed to get on the moon by nothing but spiritism so why I shouldn't? Also, forest walk is a nice name for a ability. I'll keep it.”

“Did you choose the destination at least?”

“Nope, like I said; I have no idea and let chaos lead us.”

“I see, but let me show you a more reliable way of travelling~”

Yukari open a gap in front of us, then look at the big dipper.

“Unlike you, old chaired coot! I have a young prince to carry me~”

I think she's throwing childish insults to someone she know... Anyway, I walked in the gap Yukari made and end up on a Japanese style garden of a house.

“This is my home, my Shikigamis usually maintain it and do the chores but they're aren't here for now.”

“That's a nice house.”

“Hee hee, I'll guide you to my room~”

Wait! She said to her bloody room?! Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit! I follow her instructions that led to her room and it is surprising that the room it isn't a total bloody mess. Probably a Shikigami did the cleaning on it. Then Yukari gapped us on the bed, bloody hell! I didn't see that one coming! She's clinging to me and... She's asleep, did I missed a train of events? But anyway, she's using me as a damn body pillow! Her soft and good-smelling golden hair are warped around me, her voluptuous large chest are pressing against me, guess I've really become a body pillow... That's not so bad actually so why not sleeping with her? Welp, good night. Aaaaaaanddd! I wake up alone on my bed... That's all folks.
