  10. >"hey, is everything okay in there?"
  11. >a muffled eep, and then a nandroid push her head through the mass of leaves
  12. >she looked way too happy seeing you, it was kind of creepy
  13. >she explain she's having trouble with a few stubborn weeds
  14. >having a bit of knowledge about gardening yourself, you give her a few tips, and it spark a conversation
  15. >it was mostly platitude, but it was nice to talk with someone upbeat
  16. >after a bit you have to get going, and she go back to her garden
  17. >next morning you pass by and she hail you, thanking you for the pointers
  18. >once again you talk, it goes a bit deeper and you catch each other's name
  19. >it's still mostly about gardening, and she give you a few pointers for laundry on the side
  20. >it goes on for a while and one day you figure out she's just horribly bored
  21. >you lend her books and puzzles you don't use anymore
  22. >sometime you meet at the market, and start talking about whatever

  24. >weeks later she give you back the books, but she look upset
  25. >basically she got too efficient at reading and she went through several months of books in a few days
  26. >problem is, an android can't just unlearn to be good at something
  27. >you figure out a game system would suit her best, since even if she get very good at it, 100%-ing things will still take her a long while
  28. >you give her games you're not playing anymore and one of your old laptop that you kept for redundancy, but it's your 15th one so you can spare it
  29. >after this she seems a lot more relaxed when you meet
  30. >this goes on for a while more, and from what she's saying her duties didn't suffer any loss of efficiency, quite the contrary now that she was motivated
  31. >one day you happen to find her with her family in a store, and she present you to them
  32. >it's a bit awkward but they don't seem to think too bad of the whole ordeal, especially after the circumstances are explained
  33. >they let you see each other, knowing that she need something to keep her occupied, and you didn't seems like a bad sort, if a bit of a loner
