  4.
  5. [22:11] <Tangent> "I see dead people."
  6. [22:11] <Tangent> A familiar power might actually be amusing
  7. [22:12] <Tangent> since if the girl that got run over didn't reincarnate for whatever reason...
  8. [22:12] <Anonymous_> I like it because you can get crazy with the spirits...
  9. [22:12] <Anonymous_> Have them doing the moon walk and what not while their attacking.
  10. [22:15] <Tangent> Raven sounds about right as a spirit user familiars
  11. [22:16] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Hmm... Final reaction to Beastwood's OVA: mixed. On one hand, cute drider little sister... on the other hand, the cute human little sister...
  12. [22:16] <Tangent> hmm?
  13. [22:16] <Levinia-n-Niamh> T: Having the ghost of Previous Girl as a familiar?
  14. [22:17] <Levinia-n-Niamh> That would make for an interesting story...
  15. [22:17] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Though she could also be a monster musume type ghost, as a Big Freind...
  16. [22:18] <Karla_Morgenstern> >Ghost of MG Past
  17. [22:18] <Tangent> Maybe an owl
  18. [22:18] <Karla_Morgenstern> >YOU KILLED ME YOU IDIOT
  19. [22:19] <Tangent> >Why is that owl glaring at me
  20. [22:19] <Karla_Morgenstern> Sounds fun
  21. [22:19] <Tangent> "Oh. Oh god. Um...I'm guessing a 'sorry' won't cut it..."
  22. [22:19] <Anonymous_> I think there was a conversation about that in one of the past threads.
  23. [22:20] <Anonymous_> Or about letting that girl possess you while she waits to re spawn if she is capable of doing so.
  24. [22:20] <Karla_Morgenstern> What, a Birdy sort of thing?
  25. [22:21] <Tangent> Hmmm might be more amusing if she's just the familiar. A very annoyed familiar.
  26. [22:22] <Tangent> "Wait, is tha...are you LAUGHING at me?"
  27. [22:22] <Tangent> And the new magical girl doesn't clue in until she actually looks at the familiar with spirit-vision.
  28. [22:24] <Anonymous_> And similar to Birdy.
  29. [22:24] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Fund it
  30. [22:24] <Anonymous_> I think it was you I was discussing it with Karla.
  31. [22:25] <Tangent> Yeah, I think I'm writing clueless spirit girl and short-tempered ghost-owl
  32. [22:25] <Tangent> "Ow! What're you pecking me for?! Oh...I saw that. I got it, you can stop now..."
  33. [22:25] <Tangent> "Ow."
  34. [22:33] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Heheh... That's one I would really like to see
  35. [22:34] <Tangent> Olivia isn't happy about being a flying feather duster. Cassie really, really regretted the time she made a joke about "hunt and peck" after getting a keyboard for her to type on...
  36. [22:35] <Tangent> Olivia also has a habit of giving Cassie directions by pecking the ear she wants her to go towards.
  37. [22:38] <Levinia-n-Niamh> "grumblemumblebird.. OW!"
  38. [22:39] <Karla_Morgenstern> Owl patron could be interesting
  39. [22:39] <Tangent> Olivia also tends to use her shoulder as a perch. Cassie wisely learned not to complain about the weight. Or the claws ruining three jackets in a row.
  40. [22:39] <Karla_Morgenstern> Something like that knowledge spirit from Avatar
  41. [22:39] <Tangent> True, I just think "familiar" has more hilarity potential.
  42. [22:39] <Karla_Morgenstern> yeah
  43. [22:39] <Tangent> Since the...ah, familiar is rather unhappy about it.
  44. [22:39] <Tangent> Not outright furious, thinking Olivia partially is relieved that she doesn't need to fight anymore.
  45. [22:40] <Tangent> But still not HAPPY about being dead and hacking up owl pellets.
  46. [22:40] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Maybe Previous Girl's patron has some kind of bird connection, and reincarnated her as one as a reward for being such an effective servant, just in time to be the advisor to Patron's new girl?
  47. [22:41] <Tangent> Neat. An air girl with a mentor?
  48. [22:41] <Levinia-n-Niamh> That might be over complicating it, though
  49. [22:41] <Tangent> Of course neither of them are going to know either way.
  50. [22:41] <Tangent> As far as they're concerned, Olivia's an owl and it's kind of Cassie's fault for running her over and getting zapped for it.
  51. [22:42] <Tangent> "Well maybe you shouldn't have run into the road at 2 in the mor-Ow!"
  52. [22:43] <Tangent> But yeah, room for some amusing banter despite one of the participants' usual language being pecks, wingbeats, hoots, and if they're lucky microsoft sam?
  53. [22:47] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Hmm... so can sufficient mastery of spirit magic allow Previous Girl to take human-ish form now and then? http://orig08.deviantart.net/c361/f/2012/155/0/f/owl_girl_by_2gold-d528a5r.png
  54. [22:48] <Tangent> Probably.
  55. [22:48] <Tangent> Thing is going by rolls Cassie isn't...the most talented mage
  56. [22:48] <Tangent> So that's probably long term if ever
  57. [22:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh> I know I'm saving that picture either way
  58. [22:48] <Tangent> It's very shiny yeah.
  59. [22:48] <Tangent> "I have a mouth again! Hahahahaha!"
  60. [22:48] <Tangent> "Uh...Yay...Congrats..."
  61. [22:49] <Tangent> "You're still an idiot."
  62. [22:55] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Well, the spell WAS supposed to turn the familiar fully human, to blend in better in places where an animal wouldn't...
  63. [22:56] <Karla_Morgenstern> Character idea: Narcissist with Twin Soul
  64. [22:57] <Tangent> So...most twin souls? :p
  65. [22:58] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Normal owl form? http://img03.deviantart.net/f85d/i/2012/261/f/1/wip_cute_owl_by_artemis_phoenix-d5f4mr7.jpg
  66. [22:59] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Also, obligatory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hBpF_Zj4OA
  67. [22:59] <Tangent> Not grumpy enough. :D
  68. [23:05] <Levinia-n-Niamh> So more like this one, then? https://c1.staticflickr.com/7/6005/5927758528_a2060423e7_b.jpg
  69. [23:06] <Tangent> Oh yes.
  70. [23:06] <Tangent> :D
  71. [23:06] <Tangent> Owlivia's default expression is "are you kidding me"?
  72. [23:40] <Tangent> A spirit magical girl would basically be playing Ghostbusters, right?
  73. [23:40] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Could be.
  74. [23:40] <Levinia-n-Niamh> If you want to write it like that.
  75. [23:41] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Could be Princess Mononoke or... damn, waht's the name of that show about the guy who sees restless spirits and tries to find ways to placate them?
  76. [23:41] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Not Bleach, the other one
  77. [23:42] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Alternately, Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai
  78. [23:43] <Anonymous_> So I could throw the black coin into a server room and severely mess things up?
  79. [23:43] <Anonymous_> It's sounding like the Black Coin has potential use as an offensive weapon or as a distraction.
  80. [23:43] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Nah, you'd just spawn another daemon
  81. [23:44] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Any good sysadmin could deal with that
  82. [23:44] <Anonymous_> So no bringing back dial up?
  83. [23:44] <Levinia-n-Niamh> There's probably more to it than just "poke with coin, evil happens" though
  84. [23:45] <Tangent> Hmmm. Amusing idea.
  85. [23:45] <Levinia-n-Niamh> I mean, the whole point of the mana coins in general is that they're stable unless the energy is specifically tapped
  86. [23:45] <Tangent> Cassie ends up running into zombies.
  87. [23:46] <Levinia-n-Niamh> ... and?
  88. [23:46] <Tangent> Freaks out, because I'm kinda a coward, and well, zombies are a lot less fun face to face. Olivia isn't amused by Cassie freezing in panic. PECK to snap her out of it.
  89. [23:46] <Anonymous_> You would be tapping it to animate something wouldn't you?
  90. [23:47] <Levinia-n-Niamh> T: Zombies are lame in general
  91. [23:47] <Tangent> Well, yeah.
  92. [23:47] <Levinia-n-Niamh> A: If you do it intentionally
  93. [23:47] <Tangent> But there's lame and then there's "Oh crap, this is real and it wants to eat my face."
  94. [23:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh> T: as a one episode collective mook, they're fine I guess
  95. [23:48] <Tangent> Yeah an intro episode mook.
  96. [23:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh> And probably really easy for a Spirit mage to dispose of
  97. [23:48] <Tangent> ayuppp
  98. [23:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Tutorial Level Zombies I am okay with
  99. [23:49] <Tangent> Like I kind of like playing up the goofiness of the enemies in CYOA
  100. [23:49] <Tangent> We're not talking Madoka witches, at least not as standard.
  101. [23:50] <Levinia-n-Niamh> As the player whose story parts are summarized "Grimdark can suck it. Magical adventures and happy little sisters." I approve.
  102. [23:50] <Tangent> I kind of have a bad habit of giving my PCs issues, but yeah, enemy and situation wise you don't want it to be too grim.
  103. [23:51] <Levinia-n-Niamh> The MC's emotional and personal character arc is usually the point of Mahou Shojou, so you're in good company there.
  104. [23:52] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Monsters and magic are only the tools used to tell the story
  105. [23:54] <Levinia-n-Niamh> But back to the tutorial zombies - they'd atually be good targets to show that even as an owl, Olivia is a badass
  106. [23:55] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Because seriously, owls, man. They're like ninja velociraptors that fly.
  107. [23:55] <Tangent> Mmmm.
  108. [23:55] <Tangent> >Do I really have to do this myself when I don't even have HANDS right now?
  109. [23:56] <Levinia-n-Niamh> "Buh-b-but, ZOMBIES! EEEW!"
  110. [23:58] <Tangent> More like "Oh crap oh crap this is real and they're dead and they're going to EAT MY FACE."

  112. [00:00] <Tangent> hey
  113. [00:00] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Hiyo
  114. [00:00] <notavampireloli> hey
  115. [00:00] <notavampireloli> sorry just checking in
  116. [00:00] <Tangent> No worries
  117. [00:00] <Levinia-n-Niamh> http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/9827609/Man-needed-hospital-treatment-after-owl-attack.html
  118. [00:01] <notavampireloli> what
  119. [00:01] <Levinia-n-Niamh> flying ninja velociraptors
  120. [00:01] <notavampireloli> thats awsome
  121. [00:01] <notavampireloli> I want beast to do this shit
  122. [00:01] <notavampireloli> somehow
  123. [00:01] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Tangent is writing it
  124. [00:02] <notavampireloli> tangent you wonderful dude
  125. [00:02] <notavampireloli> keep shining on.
  126. [00:03] <Tangent> :D
  127. [00:04] <Tangent> "ohn Mackay, 58, was left bleeding from the back of his head in a built up area of Inverness near to the city centre. He thought he'd been hit by a brick. "

  129. [00:07] <Karla_Morgenstern> Y'know, you can train owls like falcons
  130. [00:07] <Karla_Morgenstern> Sorta
  131. [00:07] <Karla_Morgenstern> I had a friend who did falconry, and he mentioned that it was possible, but rather hard
  132. [00:12] <Levinia-n-Niamh> So, is the one thing both Owlivia and Cassie agree on, The Labrynth for movie night?
  133. [00:20] <Tangent> :D
  134. [00:24] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Hmm. Browser's acting like it will crash soon. Best to preempt that.

  136. [00:27] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Oh crap, I forgot to save the chat log... oops. Tangent, you'd better come through...
  137. [00:27] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> (insert stern-faced owl glare)

  139. [00:28] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> um.
  140. [00:28] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Bye, past me?
  141. [00:28] <Tangent> Hey
  142. [00:28] <Tangent> I saved the Cassie stuff, yeah.
  143. [00:29] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Good-o.
  144. [00:34] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Do you have a picture for Olivia?
  145. [00:34] * Levinia-n-Niamh_ has found several girl-with-owl images
  146. [00:35] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> For Cassie, I meant
  147. [00:36] <Tangent> Nah, not yet.
  148. [00:36] <Tangent> Still thinking about what kind of costume to go for
  149. [00:36] <Tangent> But I'd love reference images
  150. [00:37] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Here's one of the good ones: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/50/6a/10/506a109d26c585b9bfc634e148359a06.jpg

  152.
  153. [00:46] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Here's a decent girl with large-but-not-too-large owl: http://orig01.deviantart.net/683e/f/2010/071/4/2/girl_with_owl_by_tsulala.jpg
  154.
  155. [00:48] <Tangent> Hmmm Cassie has a gypsy fortuneteller look?
  156. [00:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Elaborate, maybe on the upper edge of lfowing
  157. [00:48] <Karla_Morgenstern> Flowing?
  158. [00:48] <Karla_Morgenstern> Not elaborate, imo
  159. [00:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> I can go with FLowing
  160. [00:48] <Karla_Morgenstern> *not elaborate enough
  161. [00:49] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> T: I can attempt coloring on that if you want.
  162. [00:49] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> I'd need to know what colors you're looking for, of course
  163. [00:50] <Tangent> ...Thanks for the offer, but I'm good, do appreciate it...mostly because I'm still not sure about her color scheme and stuff.
  164. [00:51] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> No worries
  165. [00:51] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Alright if I post the spooky one as a vaguely-content-inclusive bump?
  166. [00:51] <Tangent> But I meant how specifically would you describe that costume, not which category, as useful as it is
  167. [00:51] <Tangent> Sure
  168. [00:55] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Describing the costume... Hm.
  169. [00:56] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Soft ankle boots with medium heels, the tops folded down into a leaf or boat shape
  170. [00:56] <Tangent> Ornate bracelets...
  171. [00:57] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> A light skirt that billows as she moves or in any breeze
  172. [00:57] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Actually, that's probably a drs, with the floral print or lace bodice attached
  173. [00:58] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> dress, I meant. Or gown, but I think a gown would probably be longer and more formal
  174. [00:59] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> A waist length, open jacket with lace cuffs and thin, eye-catching diagonal stripes
  175. [00:59] <Tangent> Mmm
  176. [00:59] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Back to the bodice, I'd say its definitely a print or embroidery, since the lace collar is drawn quite differently
  177. [01:00] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Call it embroidery, I'd say
  178. [01:00] <Tangent> Not sure what to call the headpiece, actually...descriptions aren't really my strong point so this is useful.
  179. [01:00] <Tangent> Yeah.
  180. [01:01] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> headpiece: A hair band over the top of the head, with more embroidery and lace trim
  181. [01:02] <Tangent> *takes notes*
  182. [01:02] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> The bracelets, ornate as you said, but mention the short chain of cabochons playing over the back of the hand
  183. The bead and wrapped end of her braid is also worth noting - it won't be fraying loose without actual effort spent
  184.
  185. [01:30] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> https://c1.staticflickr.com/7/6005/5927758528_a2060423e7_b.jpg owl: Are you serious?
  186. [01:30] <SnowRain> Ah, okay
  187. [01:31] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> failed human polymorph: Yay, I have hands again! But you're still an idiot. http://orig08.deviantart.net/c361/f/2012/155/0/f/owl_girl_by_2gold-d528a5r.png
  188. A braid.
  189. [01:34] <Tangent> *TUG*
  190. [01:34] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> AKA a leash for your human, yes
  191. [01:34] <SnowRain> Well, being transformed helps, but you'll still need to deal with it when not transformed
  192. [01:34] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> But also Best Hairdo
  193. [01:34] <SnowRain> lol
  194. [01:35] <Karla_Morgenstern> >not using it to make an Owl-Flail
  195. [01:37] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Well, you could argue the bead-and-cone at the tip as bieng a weighted blade or spike, I guess.
  196. [01:38] <Karla_Morgenstern> No, I mean the owl hangs on and you shake your hair back and forth
  197. [01:38] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> But if your owl familiar is not silently prowling the skies to deliver sudden death from above in complete silence, you aren't owling properly
  198. [01:38] <Karla_Morgenstern> And smack them with an owl
  199. [01:38] <Anonymous_> Isn't that owl abuse?
  200. [01:39] <Levinia-n-Niamh_> Owl abuse is what happens to you when you suggest that to the owl
  201.
  202. Got another possible spirit to deal with. It's rumored that one of the local schools is cursed - not one of the sports teams have won a single game in (time period,) drop-outs and delinqents are common, even among the teachers there have been so many scandals they've stopped being shocking
  203. [11:57] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Actually, the problem is that the School Spirit is dead/angry/got sealed by an overzealous devil hunter/something like that
  204. [11:58] <Tangent> heh nice
  205. [11:58] <Tangent> Sounds nice and goofy.
  206. [11:59] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Options include finding a new, energetic spirit to take its place, propitiating it, or releasing it and possibly hunting down the devil hunter to tell them to stop being so uptight
  207. [13:09] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Oh, the lake of slimes thing isn't mentioned on that page. Here's one with it: http://www.thebridgewatertriangle.com/2013/12/lake-nippenickett-or-nip-for-short-is.html
  208. [13:10] <Tangent> That actually sounds like story material, just add magic...
  209. [13:10] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Olivia spurring Cassie into a training trip weekend there could be a thing
  210. [13:11] <Tangent> :D
  211. [13:11] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Slimes are classic low-level "trash" monsters for newbies to fight without much danger, after all
  212. [13:11] <Tangent> Something something even you can't get this wrong, plenty of spiritual debris around for you to practice with
  213. [13:12] <Tangent> which translates into *HOOT* and bobbing her head at the map.
  214. [13:13] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Alternately, the slimes could be globs of ectoplasm that acculuate due to a hgh spiritual concentration around the Nip, making it easy to summon newbie-grade spirits or directly mold them out of energy, to avoid having to fight with more opinionated ones while getting a handle on the basics
  215. [13:13] <Tangent> ohhhh nice
  216. [13:13] <Levinia-n-Niamh> or just crafting material for Spirit spec
  217. [13:14] <Tangent> Mmm.
  218. [13:14] <Tangent> Worried about overlapping too much with empath
  219. [13:14] <Tangent> But Spirit Summoning for noobs might have them use ectoplasm/thought or spirit fragments left behind?
  220. [13:14] <Tangent> *in general
  221. [13:15] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Spirit is more commanding external things, where EMpath absorbs and releases
  222. [13:15] <Levinia-n-Niamh> You can summon a spirit for any job like you can find an emotion for every job, but they don't really work the same
  223.
  224. [00:31] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Seriously, when your magic powers give you a bell, why do you not at least try ringing it before using it as a club!?
  225. [00:31] <Tangent> :D
  226. [00:31] <Tangent> Actually that'd be amusing.
  227. [00:31] <Tangent> Wild flailing with the chime inadvertently triggers the bell. Stuns the zombies.
  228. [00:32] <Tangent> Some of the mud starts to melt.
  229. [00:34] <Levinia-n-Niamh> maybe the candlestick could be one of those hand-held ones, to render spirits generally visible and interactable? That's a classic take on it
  230. [00:35] <Tangent> Maybe just the chime, at least to start with?
  231. [00:36] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Since that's the one suited to her immediate need, sure
  232. [00:36] <Tangent> "Hey! N-now you're leaving?!" Cassie yelled at the vanishing owl, her panic making her babble. The only response was a dismissive hoot.
  233. [00:36] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Book appears when she wants to cast, candle for doing spirit detective interaction things
  234. [00:40] <Levinia-n-Niamh> https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/29/-_Bugia_candlestick_-.jpg/1166px--_Bugia_candlestick_-.jpg
  235. [00:40] <Tangent> Hmmmm.
  236. [00:40] <Tangent> Reserving judgement on the other two for now, but thanks.
  237. [00:41] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Cool
  238. [00:42] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Having the bell on a cord/leather strap/something like that might be more thematic, actually. Less bludgeony, but you can still swing it around as a flail
  239. [00:43] <Levinia-n-Niamh> More fitting with the intention of being rung to be used, or held as a magic focus
  240. [00:43] <Tangent> chainlink, maybe?
  241. [00:43] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Chainlink would jangle on its own, and make disruptive sounds, I would think
  242. [00:45] <Tangent> cord then
  243. [00:46] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Sounds good. It looks like the image I had i my mind of a short, looped leather strap, is just a common style for a metal handle on the handbell
  244. [00:46] <Tangent> *nods*
  245. [00:47] <Levinia-n-Niamh> http://store.schulmerichbells.com/img/hndbl_set.jpg well, maybe it's hard leather, I don't know
  246. [00:47] <Tangent> ohhh, I was thinking a cord for the handle
  247. [00:47] <Tangent> attached to the handle, that is
  248. [00:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh> No, a cord works
  249. [00:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh> It would be meant to be dangly, and you shake it to cast after focusing magic into the ball
  250. [00:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh> bell
  251. [00:49] <Levinia-n-Niamh> not knowing that, she swings it around to whack things
  252. [00:49] <Levinia-n-Niamh> That works with a solid grip too, though
  253. [00:49] <Levinia-n-Niamh> with basically the same description
  254. [00:49] <Tangent> Hmm. Kinda do prefer the "shake by the handle" approach, rather than the one that's just a bell on a cord?
  255. [00:49] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Go with the normal solid handle, then
  256. [00:49] <Tangent> mmm
  257. [00:50] <Tangent> heh walking the tightrope of "panicking newbie" and "darwin award winner"
  258. [00:56] <Tangent> Olivia'd finally managed to untangle her feet from Cassie's head while the new magical girl'd been backpedaling. Without a second thought, she took off. The zombies weren't her problem anymore. Finding a way to fix this was. Even a rookie should figure it out soon enough. She could still hear the zombies as she flapped her wings. They weren't dying. ...Even a rookie that wasn't a moron should figure it out, Olivia mentally amended.
  259. [00:56] <Levinia-n-Niamh> The thing is, "panicking newbie" is often synonomous with "Darwin award winner" in the most lteral way
  260. [00:56] <Tangent> ayupppp
  261. [00:56] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Fighter pilots who survived a few minutes of combat were no longer considered "rookies" in WWII, for example
  262. [00:57] <Tangent> mmmm
  263. [00:57] <Levinia-n-Niamh> re above snip, maybe "Even a rookie should figure it out, as long as they weren't a total moron"
  264. [00:58] <Tangent> adding a line
  265. [00:59] <Levinia-n-Niamh> "even a rookie that wasn't a moron" makes it sounld like being a moron is the norm and would make it easier
  266. [00:59] * Levinia-n-Niamh suspects that Olivia has forgotten quite what her own first fight was like
  267. [01:00] <Tangent> Selective amnesia
  268. [01:00] <Tangent> and having an air spirit patron helped.
  269. [01:00] <Levinia-n-Niamh> With several years of experience, even looking back at something honestly can be very different
  270. [01:01] <Tangent> Plus Olivia is kind of full of herself
  271. [01:01] <Tangent> it's not completely unjustified but uh
  272. [01:01] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Well, she's the pro from dover, stripped of a lot of her cpaabilities and stuck rookiesitting
  273. [01:01] <Tangent> mhmmm
  274. [01:01] <Tangent> also update the story so far, how's it read?
  275. [01:02] <Levinia-n-Niamh> She doe have a reasonable justification for being peeved
  276. [01:02] <Tangent> http://pastebin.com/cYDQwsMh
  277. [01:02] <Tangent> Yes, being run over does qualify.
  278. [01:02] <Tangent> In Cassie's defense, she literally ran into the road.
  279. [01:02] <Tangent> In Olivia's defense, Cassie was an awful driver when she still had a car.
  280. [01:04] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Looks good so far, though it could maybe stand to have a few of the " 'd" expanded back into "X had"
  281. [01:04] <Tangent> mkay
  282. [01:04] <Tangent> Characters sound distinct? Not too cartoony?
  283. [01:05] <Levinia-n-Niamh> No, that much is looking good
  284. [01:05] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Perspective switches come a bit fast and furious, but there's no real way to get around that with one character unable to speak and the other one too gobsmacked for it
  285. [01:06] <Tangent> That's kinda intentional.
  286. [01:06] <Tangent> The crazy perspective switches are about to come to an end.
  287. [01:07] <Levinia-n-Niamh> It's a confusing time, for both of them
  288. [01:07] <Tangent> mmm
  289. [01:07] <Tangent> Does the incoherence come over IC and not OOC?
  290. [01:08] <Levinia-n-Niamh> The owl swooped at Cassie's face with an angry screech. She yelped and ducked, and the claws that'd been meant for her face got caught in her hair instead. Instead of an angry owl clawing her face off, she now had an angry, entangled owl for a hat.
  291. [01:08] <Levinia-n-Niamh> I think this one is the only place where not doinfg a perspective swap would be better
  292. [01:08] <Tangent> mmm?
  293. [01:08] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Most of the action in it is still Olivia, and the rest can be told thorugh the spoken line and narration
  294. [01:09] <Tangent> Hmmm. I'll remember to try and rework that, but I'm kinda overly attached to the last line of that draft. But yeah, noted.
  295. [01:09] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Basically, just swap in "She swooped at the rookie's face"
  296. [01:10] <Tangent> Thanks btw.
  297. [01:10] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Last line is gold, definitely keep
  298. [01:12] <Tangent> How's that edit?
  299. [01:13] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Does she know Cassie's name already? Maybe witout quite realizing it, as part of the familiar bond?
  300. [01:13] <Levinia-n-Niamh> That's the only thing that sticks out now
  301. [01:13] <Tangent> Nah, not yet, I thought I took out all the name references?
  302. [01:14] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Otherwise good
  303. [01:14] <Tangent> Did I miss a name reference?
  304. [01:14] <Levinia-n-Niamh> "she swooped at Cassie's face"
  305. [01:14] <Tangent> edited atm
  306. [01:15] <Levinia-n-Niamh> (tuhmbs up)
  307. [01:15] <Tangent> thanks
  308. [01:15] <Tangent> It reads okay?
  309. [01:15] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Yeah, it looks good.
  310. [01:15] <Tangent> yay
  311. [01:16] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Could even be posted, since it covers a mini-character arc of Liv scorning and then going back for Cass, but better to just keep going if it's still flowing for you
  312. [01:16] <Tangent> "The owl slammed into one of the zombies like a small, fluffy comet."
  313. [01:17] <Tangent> Yeah, going to finish it, probably end it when Cass gets a clue by four that yes, the owl is sentient
  314. [01:17] <Tangent> Yes it's annoyed at you
  315. [01:17] <Tangent> and yes it's actually the girl you just ran over when this started
  316. [01:18] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Huh... Does Olivia get to experience the wierd of attending her own funeral?
  317. [01:19] <Tangent> ...Heh, by coworkers or mundane?
  318. [01:19] <Levinia-n-Niamh> If they haven't clued in that Cassie is a Spirit MG, there's sure to be some hanging around the graveyard to pick up on
  319. [01:19] <Tangent> Because the SEP field is going to have a great time explaining this one away.
  320. [01:19] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Why?
  321. [01:20] <Tangent> Well, I guess the zombies might not leave remains behind
  322. [01:20] <Tangent> since even the bones are mostly being kept together by sheer unpleasant-mindedness....
  323. [01:20] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Esp with your old ID erased, it's a mystery why there was a little girl out in the woods or where the driver fled to, but otherwise the narrative is pretty clear
  324. [01:20] <Tangent> No closure for this character but yeah.
  325. [01:21] <Levinia-n-Niamh> I thought it was? Well, they're still not going to connect the (live) little girl with the driver who ran away after hitting one
  326. [01:21] <Levinia-n-Niamh> That's if C hangs around to be found at all
  327. [01:22] <Tangent> "...Wait, I'm wanted for murder?!"
  328. [01:22] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Mass murder. There were a whole lot of partially decomposed remains found in that area...
  329. [01:23] <Levinia-n-Niamh> though if so, the vehicular homocide was probably not the intended result
  330. [01:24] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Alternately, they're looking for the killer who dragged a little girl out tere, and disposed of the dirver who hit her after she escaped and was trying to flee
  331. [01:24] <Levinia-n-Niamh> If Cassie is found in the aftermath, that's probably the way to spin it
  332. [01:24] <Tangent> either way, shenanigans
  333. [01:25] <Levinia-n-Niamh> That she and O were both borought out there by some creepo who kept his face hidden, then escaped and ran to the road, O was hit by a car and the dirver fought creepo/just ran and you escaped in the confusion but can't ID either one definitely
  334. [01:26] <Tangent> otoh Cassie DOES have incognito
  335. [01:26] <Tangent> which just adds to the mess that is the mundane attempt to make sense of this
  336. [01:26] <Levinia-n-Niamh> If the girl who was "rescued" just vanishes as well
  337. [01:27] <Tangent> "Okay, why are there burned human remains here that we've matched to missing person cases from across three states? Come on, people, we're missing something here."
  338. [01:27] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Sounds like one of those phantom-hitchiker ghost stories already
  339. [01:27] <Tangent> Fun times: Cassie has no idea what powers she has either.
  340. [01:28] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Wow, Incognito really does fit well with a spirit detective, doesn't it?
  341. [01:28] <Tangent> mmm
  342. [01:28] <Tangent> I'm actually surprised by how well the rolls meshed
  343. [01:29] <Levinia-n-Niamh> She has Gifted, too. So once she gets her feet under her and figures out what her powers are, she should be really good at using them.
  344. [01:29] <Tangent> mmm
  345. [01:30] <Tangent> Surprise competence with character development.
  346. [01:30] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Fodder for earning O's respect as a longer arc
  347. [01:30] <Tangent> Many, many pecks later.
  348.
  349. [04:27] <Levinia-n-Niamh> I was thinking cream-brownish-yellows-maroon earth tones, but I do tend to go a little overboard
  350. [04:27] <Tangent> mmm
  351. [04:28] <Tangent> cream for the flower-embroidery and skirt, maybe? maroon for the coat thing? /is bad at good color schemes
  352. [04:28] <Levinia-n-Niamh> This one is nice: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8PBTY8Q8iQw/UggFOhtgYXI/AAAAAAABS4M/61Oq7I7pqeo/s640/shanatanu-and-nikhil-showcase-bridal-collection-2013-in-delhi-15.jpg
  353. [04:28] <Levinia-n-Niamh> maybe a little brighter marron
  354. [04:28] <Tangent> mmm
  355. [04:29] <Levinia-n-Niamh> https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/a7/1a/c3/a71ac3e50e41e483499dcaedc9e6105b.jpg
  356. [04:29] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Cream mostly for the lace, I was thinking
  357. [04:29] <Tangent> mmm
  358. [04:30] <Tangent> maroon for the jacket or the stripes on it? Or maroon and darker stripes?
  359. [04:30] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Maroon and darker stripes, I'd say.
  360. [04:30] <Tangent> mmm
  361. [04:30] <Tangent> maroon and cream as her main colors?
  362. [04:31] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Sounds good
  363. [04:31] <Tangent> Shiny, thanks.
  364. [04:32] <Tangent> white puffs for the flower embroidery?
  365. [04:33] <Levinia-n-Niamh> I was thinking cream background on the bodice with the skirt and embroidery in a dusty pink (maroon plus some white, basically)
  366. [04:33] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Up to you though
  367. [04:33] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Boots in the jacket's main color
  368. [04:34] <Tangent> Huh, was thinking a shade of brown for the skirt for some reason but again >bad at color matching...but pink's interesting definitely for embroidery...
  369. [04:34] <Levinia-n-Niamh> If she's wearing hose, they could be brown
  370. [04:35] <Tangent> Hmm. Eh, main colors make sense and that's good enough for now. :D
  371. [04:36] <Levinia-n-Niamh> http://classiq.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/givenchy-fall-2014-stockings-and-sandals-1.jpg
  372. [04:39] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Hair color?
  373. [04:40] <Tangent> Brown, I think. A lighter shade of brown? Dark eyes? I kinda like the art's look.
  374. [04:41] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Sort of an indeterminate not-blonde light yellowish brown?
  375. [04:43] <Levinia-n-Niamh> http://dfemale.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/light-brown-almost-blonde-hair-color.jpg
  376. [04:43] <Tangent> hmmm maybe a /bit/ more towards the brown side of that?
  377. [04:43] <Tangent> only because I inadvertently overused blonde as a PC hair color- and I was kinda surprised
  378. [04:44] <Tangent> The funny thing is they were cheerful but were pretty much all over the personality spectrum other than that
  379. [04:44] <Levinia-n-Niamh> http://usafashionaward.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Highlights-for-Brown-Hair-and-Blue-Eyes.jpg
  380. [04:45] <Tangent> Neat
  381. [04:48] <Levinia-n-Niamh> What if the skirt is a similar, thoguh not the same, color? Probably lighter
  382. [04:49] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Light the brightest highlights on that hair photo
  383. [04:49] <Levinia-n-Niamh> like them, I meant
  384. [04:49] <Tangent> That'd work. Do you think that'd mesh well colorwise? Maroon jacket, cream shirt with pink embroidering, and...cream? hazel? skirt like you suggested? Dunno about what hose would make sense, but maroon shoes?
  385. [04:50] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Well, I wouldn't be suggesting it if I didn't hink it would work :D
  386. [04:50] <Tangent> Point. xD
  387. [04:51] <Tangent> So your idea for the skirt is cream, hazel, or...
  388. [04:51] <Levinia-n-Niamh> Something like that, yes
  389. [04:51] <Levinia-n-Niamh> I htink a fashion designer would call it "sand" or something, probably
  390. [04:52] <Tangent> Shiny.
  391. [05:28] <PhoenixHanabi> heart-shaped and unusually symmetrical, with perfectly clear skin, a pert nose, and expressive eyes. Her ears have multiple piercings fited with unobtrusive small studs similar to the stones in her cabochon bracelets.
  392. [05:29] <Tangent> ...Want to hear something amusing?
  393. [05:29] <PhoenixHanabi> Given the outfit colors previously discussed, I'd make the eyes either a warm mahogany brown or hazel brownish-green
  394. [05:29] <PhoenixHanabi> Lip gloss dark but not as dark as her jacket, it any
  395. [05:29] <PhoenixHanabi> if any
  396. [05:30] <Tangent> I actually missed that. It might make sense for CASSIE to miss the piercings until she gets a chance to de-stress. And mmm. Was thinking of brown, but hazel-green kinda works better since >ectoplasm.
  397. [05:30] <PhoenixHanabi> nails well-manicured and given a coat of clear gloss, if any
  398. [05:30] <Tangent> *scribble scribble*
  399. [05:31] <PhoenixHanabi> Toenails as well, when she gets around to detransforming
  400. [05:33] <Tangent> >"What the fuck, Puuchu?"
  401. [05:33] <PhoenixHanabi> Generally very little body hair, and what is there is soft and all but invisible except down below.
  402. [05:33] <Tangent> Meethinks the braid is going to go. At least if it's not part of the "factory setting" for the costume.
  403. [05:34] <Tangent> Or would that fall under eternal style?
  404. [05:35] <PhoenixHanabi> *I* certainly think braids are eternally in style, but it's your character
  405. [05:35] <Tangent> Well yeah but I know I wouldn't have the patience for it, Cassie'd generally be unamused by everything, and the braid's an obvious target.
  406. [05:36] <Tangent> Just saying that if a certain hairstyle is part of the "look", would cutting it cause it to not be restored next time in costume in your opinion.
  407. [05:36] <PhoenixHanabi> I think the "laesh for your human" thing is a great reason to keep it, OOC at least.
  408. [05:36] <Tangent> Yeah.
  409. [05:36] <Tangent> So *pop* Factory setting again.
  410. [05:36] <PhoenixHanabi> Cutting it off every time she detransforms couls also be a thing
  411. [05:37] <Tangent> >The one time she got the bright idea of selling the cut hair, it turned out to melt into ectoplasm.
  412. [05:37] <PhoenixHanabi> And then Olivia scolds her for leaving hair lying around where enemies could get it to use in remote magical attacks
  413. [05:37] <Tangent> heh
  414. [05:38] <Tangent> Funny thing really: Spirit ISN'T O's speciality.
  415. [05:38] <Tangent> So her mentor role's a bit tricky too.
  416. [05:38] <Tangent> Probably writing a O-centric story at some point.
  417. [05:38] <PhoenixHanabi> The ectoplasm thing is good too, but actually, being able to donate the hair to whichever group it is makes wigs for chemotherapy patients might be enough to trigger the "doing good feels good" effect
  418. [05:39] <Tangent> otoh she's going to be basically lost and broke for a good while
  419. [05:39] <Tangent> so that's more longer term
  420. [05:39] <Tangent> Thinking Cassie really, really doesn't like being a thief. :D
  421. [05:41] <PhoenixHanabi> Well, no. Doing good feels extra good, but bad tings still feel bad, or at least as much as they ever did.
  422. [05:41] <Tangent> Ayuppp.
  423. [05:41] <PhoenixHanabi> Probably a little more, if it troubles others
  424. [05:41] <Tangent> Thinking non-violent theft doesn't trigger anything- it's just guilt inducing.

  428. http://www.trueswords.com/medieval-steel-steel-gauntlets-polished-layered-design-p-5867.html
  429.
  430. [18:12] <PhoenixHanabi> I'd say average height for her apparent age, with the kind of slender build entire cliques of high school girls would get catty over
  431. [18:12] <PhoenixHanabi> Nah, I'm happy to help
  432. [18:13] <PhoenixHanabi> A heart shaped face with a pert nose, and large, expressive eyes slightly downturned at the corners, making her look pensive even when she's not
  433.
  434. [21:35] <Tangent> Just finally got it to install. Wondering how to handle the gender bender aspect well for Cassie on the side- like it's definitely a THING that needs acknowledgement in-story but not my usual area of writing and definitely not with a kinda-SI.
  435. [21:44] <IWBTG> Right. Honestly there's not as much dealing with it in a lot of these stories as I thought there would be.
  436. [21:45] <Tangent> Mmm. Like not /dwelling/ on it beyond what's reasonable, she's got plenty of angst as is and more than I meant her to originally, just...>This isn't me. This isn't me at all. should be a thing, right?
  437. [21:46] <IWBTG> As far as Nadia goes, I think I'm resolving it by having her sort of partition her personality a bit. Like, in her mind, she's only pretending to be this cool girl, so she sees the girl and herself as separate entities almost.
  438. [21:47] <IWBTG> Plus, if she's supposed to be not-me, and I'm the one willingly writing this stuff, she must be okay with it at least on some subconscious level. That might be getting too meta though.
  439. [21:47] <Tangent> Wheras Cassie doesn't have that comforting self-delusion, just the personality equivalent of being sedated (mild, but it's there) and having more things to deal with and heh. I'm honestly more worried about a)keeping her as me on some level or at least starting that way, b)making her consistent and INTERESTING to read about
  440. [21:48] <Tangent> So more "...Okay. That's a thing that exists. More crap to deal with. Going to deal with it." than Nadia's hiding behind a facade?
  441. [21:49] <Tangent> And yeah, it gets weird if you start thinking about it means when you willingly break your SI's psyche. xD
  442. [21:49] <IWBTG> Right, that makes sense. Just another thing to add the pile and be overwhelmed by.
  443. [21:49] <IWBTG> Haha
  444. [21:49] <Tangent> Cassie looked down at herself. Yep, it's definitely a girl. She thought glumly, then reached for the hoodie.
  445. [21:51] <IWBTG> Yeah, that's way different. Nadia keeps talking about the girl in the mirror and how that's the ideal she wants to live up to. She's crafted this entire persona that she feels like the person represented by her new body should be.
  446. [21:51] <Tangent> Thinking she's most bothered even more than by the body than by the fact it makes her a /stranger/? She- and me- is someone who tends to like their comfort zones. Routines. Nice quiet stability, even if she does get a thrill out of adventure...so something like losing her entire life and connection to everyone she ever knew would uhhhh be if anything the bigger hit than "lol teenage girl", if that makes sense?
  447. [21:51] <IWBTG> Right, of course.
  448. [21:52] <Tangent> Cassie's not trying to live up to anything- yet, she ends up clinging to Puuchu's "suggested" persona as a matter of being so lost and scrambled that it seems better than nothing
  449. [21:52] <Tangent> Plus...well, the nudge, actually knowing she's doing good...lots of little things.
  450. [21:52] <Tangent> All that makes sense?
  451. [21:52] <IWBTG> Right
  452. [21:52] <IWBTG> Yeah, of course
  453. [21:53] <IWBTG> Hold on, I have a resopnse but I just got pulled into an instance
  454. [21:53] <Tangent> Like she's going to be bothered by it in this story in the near future- gets frustrated by her own costume, inadvertently magically detransforms. Nakedness ensues. Cue response above.
  455. [22:02] <IWBTG> Mostly, Nadia doesn't really see her body as hers, and that's how she's coping. She has a whole thing where she feels really guilty about thinking and doing certain things because she can't divorce her old self from her actions, even if she objectively realizes that she is the little girl now.
  456. [22:03] <Tangent> Cassie...well, she's getting the door slammed in her face in the most direct way possible soon. Think that'll be the straw that breaks the camel's back?
  457. [22:04] <IWBTG> It's the same reason she felt really ashamed of having feelings for Holly, because in her mind it was like, "Alright, I'm a grown dude with a crush on some girl who's like fourteen. This is disgusting on some level." Without being able to come to terms with the fact that she wasn't exactly a grown guy anymore. It's why she tries so hard to be the k
  458. [22:04] <IWBTG> ind of person she thinks Nadia is.
  459. [22:04] <IWBTG> Oh, yeah, that'll definitely be it. If she can't even hold on to the thinnest tether to her old life, you know?
  460. [22:05] <Tangent> Mmm.
  461. [22:05] <Tangent> So people in situations they're not designed for coping poorly, sounds about right.
  462. [22:30] <Tangent> So Cassie'd basically be less "lol teenage girl" more "issues with her identity being torn down and this being another part of that?"
  463. [22:32] <IWBTG> Well, dysphoria is a real thing that she would probably have to deal with at some point, but I can't imagine that it's the first thing on her mind considering everything else that's changed and gone wrong.
  464. [22:32] <Tangent> Mmm.
  465. [22:33] <IWBTG> So I guess it'd be more like, "And on top of all of these identity issues, I don't even feel comfortable in this body."
  466. [22:34] <Tangent> Though with literal magic involved bets are kind of off for the dysphoria thing but mhmm
  467. [22:35] <IWBTG> That's fair; the magic could rewire the brain to identify as a girl I guess. Although that would probably cause a more existential crisis when/if she realizes that this essential part of her personality was just overwritten like that.
  468. [22:35] <Tangent> Ayupppp.
  469. [22:36] <Tangent> Yeah, Cassie's already gotten a preview of /that/ particular egg with the name thing, the personality effects, she'll clue into basically being magically drugged to want to hunt...
  470. [22:36] <Tangent> So yay for another cascade of issues?
  471. [22:38] <Tangent> So yeah thinking quiet panic over "how much of me is me?" is going to be a thing that ends up eventually bubbling over after the first round of issues
  472. [22:39] <IWBTG> Similar to Holly's issues?
  473. [22:39] <Tangent> Holly was more throwing herself into being an idiot hero- very much on purpose. Cassie's more quietly stewing, if that makes sense.
  474. [22:39] <Tangent> And in what sense?
  475. [22:40] <IWBTG> I know a lot of Holly's issues stemmed from having her memories played with and altered, right? Basically only about that deep.
  476. [22:50] <Tangent> mmm yeah, they've got that in common
  477. [22:50] <Tangent> Not really surprising seeing as well they've got someone in common xD
  478. [22:51] <Tangent> They do both have issues with casual murder
  479. [22:51] <Tangent> But Cassie's going to be a bit more...open to alternatives there
  480. [22:53] <Tangent> Also eventually more level headed than Holly
  481. [22:53] <Tangent> since when you have a pretty good idea of how death works... xD
  482. [23:28] <Tangent> Hmmm.
  483. [23:28] <Tangent> SWTOR is fun xD
  484. [23:28] <Tangent> Probably going to procrastinate on Cassie for a while haha
  485. [23:28] <Tangent> Silly question but how's her personality come over so far?
  486. [01:17] <IWBTG> Sorry, I fell asleep I guess, haha
  487. [01:17] <Tangent> np, wb xD
  488. [01:17] <Tangent> So yeah kinda curious how Cassie reads so far
  489. [01:18] <IWBTG> She seems like she' just kind of being carried along with things. Sort of passively resentful of the situation but already at the point where she realizes complaining won't do anything to help her.
  490. [01:18] <Tangent> Bit /too/ passive and resigned? Hmmm.
  491. [01:20] <Tangent> So she could stand to show more life/emotion? Got it.
  492. [01:22] <IWBTG> Yeah, if that's what you're going for.
  493. [01:25] <Tangent> Well Cassie's meant to be somewhat level headed but not a Rei Ayanami if that makes sense
  494. [01:26] <IWBTG> Right. I guess what I can say is that Cassie doesn't really have a clear motivation. Like, she's clearly not thrilled with the magical girl thing, so why is she going along with it other than just because she sort of feels like she has to?
  495. [01:27] <Tangent> *nods*
  496. [01:27] <IWBTG> That's what I mean by getting swept along with things.
  497. [01:27] <IWBTG> Sort of.
  498. [01:27] <Tangent> Mmm.
  499. [01:27] <Tangent> Think the next part should clear things up a bit there actually
  500. [01:27] <Tangent> She sees the ghost
  501. [01:27] <Tangent> considers just walking away
  502. [01:28] <Tangent> then decides, no, she's going to find out what's going on and make her own choice for once
  503. [01:28] <Tangent> and that voice in the back of her head has nothing to do with it of course
  504. [01:28] <IWBTG> Of course :P
  505. [01:35] <Tangent> So yeah, that might be her taking some intiative, thanks for the commentary
  506. [01:35] <Tangent> Like she's less /directly/ active than, say, Holly but I definitely don't want to write her as flotsam indefinitely
  507. [01:35] <IWBTG> Sure thing
  508. [01:37] <Tangent> Thinking Cassie's future is actually as the calmer of the duo?
  509. [01:37] <IWBTG> Probably the more level headed, I think. She doesn't seem like one to let passion get in the way of her judgment.
  510. [01:44] <Tangent> Might need to rethink parts of how I'm writing her hmmm.
  511. [01:47] <Tangent> Since she /is/ meant to fundamentally be me/Holly under different circumstances and I'm not really quite /that/ level-headed.
  512. [01:50] <IWBTG> It's mostly because it doesn't really seem like she has that much left that she values, you know? There's a sense of duty there, so she keeps on trucking, but beyond feeling obligated she doesn't have anything that she deeply cares about it seems.
  513. [01:50] <IWBTG> So she has no reason to get worked up.
  514. [01:50] <Tangent> Mmm.
  515. [02:03] <Tangent> Thinking that composure cracks early and often soonish?
  516. [02:11] <IWBTG> At the beginning, yeah. She just gets overwhelmed after a certain point and just cracks.
  517. [02:12] <Tangent> With the ghost exorcism this story being a sort of false recovery?
  518. [02:12] <Tangent> Her getting things together long enough to get something done, then have the whole thing crashing down when she finds out the rest of what happened at the accident?
  519. [02:15] <IWBTG> That'd be a nice juxtaposition, yeah. She finally feels like she's getting back on her feet and accomplishing something. Has some hope for the future.
  520. [02:15] <IWBTG> And then "Oh here's your corpse and your family hates you. Sorry."
  521. [02:16] <Tangent> ayuppp
  522. [02:16] <Tangent> break the Cassie :V
  523. [02:28] <Tangent> Thinking she might be less the emote type and more the type who lets pressure build up until it's too much?
  524. [02:32] <IWBTG> That sounds completely reasonable to me
  525.
  526. Right, I didn't forget about you! Just was busy a bit. Anyway did you want the character traits that it seems to suggest about her or something more like a typecast/trope set she seems to fit? I feel more comfortable listing the former though. Anyway: she seems to be an analytical type. Thinks and researches what to do instead of being hasty and jumping into it. In spite of that she doesn't
  527. [01:53] <Ai-n> give off a detached or aloof feeling, mainly because of her connection Olivia, although if she sees enough practice as a spirit girl she may go down a slippery slope of being more jaded (because getting rid of zombies is just a job). I wouldn't say she seems naive, but that she hasn't faced many life threatening challenges. If she has, then in fact she has a positive outlook
  528. [01:53] <Ai-n> And for what it's worth I think you nail writing a teen-something girl in third person voice heh
