Kabir Grewal, a Casanovic film maker and screenwriter is making multiple films (GUNS Trilogy) based on a thief&#39;s life and robberies, all achieving high success. In order to shoot his third installment (GUNS 3), he goes to Malaysia, where he meets a London based film-maker Ayesha Aamir . Kabir and Ayesha get friendly and soon fall in love. When Ayesha gets to know about Kabir&#39;s casanova attitude, she breaks up with him and returns to London. Dejected Kabir goes into depression and returns back to Mumbai, leaving his film incomplete. After several failed trials Kabir couldn&#39;t find a perfect climax for his story. On his assistant Meera&#39;s suggestion Kabir goes to a film festival as part of the jury, where Ayesha&#39;s film is being screened. Ayesha, thought that Kabir is following her and asks him to stay away from her life. After his father&#39;s death and been sued by film financiers Kabir decides to move on and complete his film. In a parallel story, An infamous Roy is a mysterious international Art thief whom no country seems to be able to get their hands on, including detective Wadia. On his new assignment, Roy goes to an unknown foreign land to steal an expensive painting only to find that its owner is the beautiful Tia. Tia lives alone in a huge mansion where the painting is kept. Hence, Roy tries to befriend Tia in an art auction and soon impresses her with his charm. A chemistry sparks between the two and both start spending time together, giving Roy entry into the mansion. Seeking for the right opportunity, one night Roy runs away with the painting, leaving Tia heartbroken. Roy later regrets, as he has fallen in love with Tia and hence decides to return the painting to her. After a small clash with painting&#39;s new owner, Roy manages to get it back. On receiving the paintings Tia realises that Roy is now a changed man and forgives him. Meanwhile, Kabir&#39;s film &quot;Guns 3&quot; releases with huge success.
Before I go ahead with with my review i would like to clarify one point- The movie Roy is about Kabir, a character named &#39;Roy&#39; from his movie series and his love interest Ayesha.<br/><br/>Now Roy starts of with the interview which makes it quite clear that Kabir has been fascinated with thieves since an early age because of a bank robbery he witnessed at the age of seven. He now writes action thrillers with the title &#39;guns&#39; and is planning on long legacy for the series. He is shown as a absent-minded, if a bit careless and a flirt who has a problem writing the script for his next movie. He hears about a robbery in Malaysia and that&#39;s where he finally puts ink on page to set &#39;Roy&#39; for his next adventure.<br/><br/>Roy is portrayed as a lonely brooding character much like Kabir (Roy is a persona of Kabir in many ways. For example Kabir addiction to smoking makes him turn his character into a compulsive smoker much like him.) Kabir never expected his life to change until he meets Ayesha in Malaysia during a shoot of his movie.<br/><br/>What follows is a two hour narration about how she inspires and intrigues him and how Kabir is forced to change his view of life.<br/><br/>Roy is much more than Romance or thriller. It is a journey of one man, portrayed in dual character. &#39;Roy&#39; is the story of Kabir, his obsessions, insecurities and struggles. Ayesha is his muse and his love, but the story goes on to be about so much more. Every step that Roy, the thief takes is a reflection of the turmoil within Kabir. Hats off to the superb direction by &#39;Vikramjit Singh&#39; and acting on part of every single actor - Jacqueline Fernandez, Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor and so many more. &#39;Roy&#39; is a story that will stay with me for hopefully a long time.
You will have lots of expectations from the movie but it would shatter the whole logical sense in a jiffy! I simply did not expect Ranbir and Rampal to be a part of such a mess. This movie is one of the Top 5 worst movies ever made in Bollywood in my view. Spend your time at better things in life. Even a sedentary Analysis job won&#39;t be so torturous as this awful bollywood crap was. Awful! It&#39;s high time that the respected actors like Rampal and Ranbir do justice to their audience and stop being a part of such a non sense piece of creativity. I slept, did Facebook and went to the loo for around as long as I remember during this show. I wish I can get back my 147 minutes back that I wasted in watching this whole pile of $%&amp;+!!
