  1. Basically the campaign's set in a high-fantasy, high-magic world where "Heroes" are everyday occurrences, not the stuff of myth. A Hero is, in short, someone that has been given grace by the planet, which is a sentient being here. There are no gods to govern the world, so to hold the planet together, powerful and proven people are granted control over some form of element, and act somewhat as balance points, shaping and holding up the world with their very existence. These nigh-immortal people are known as Heroes, and without an abundance of them, the very world would fall apart. Wherever they go, their influence exerts itself on the planet, changing it bit by bit. It's your character's goal to become one of these people, and to do so you must prove yourself, after getting approval from an already-existing Hero and the planet.

  3. Your character should plan to start the game at age 18-21(or equivalent if their race has different age groups than humans), though you'll also need a ten-years-younger token/image(don't even worry about that if you're an Elf or Aasimar or something). This younger token will be statted for level 1, and primarily only be used during the first session, while the "regular" token should be statted for...level 2 or 3, have not entirely decided yet. You'll need to pick one of these 16 Elements for your character to be attuned to(this is what element your character wants influence over as a Hero, though it's not a guarantee, since what you get is mostly determined by actions and personality): Sound, Water, Light, Law, Darkness, Death, Nature, Fire, Wind, Ice, Metal, Life, Chaos, Earth, Lightning, or Balance.

  5. As you've probably gathered, basically any race is allowed. This is because no dominant race exists anymore; races are fairly even in standing and representation across the globe. However, you can't be a Construct or anything inorganic, or any race with more than 17 RP(read: OP as all fuck).
  6.
  7. Thrice: You start in a somewhat large city known as Johan-Selani, so named because the two presiding Heroes(Johan of Chaos and Selani of Law) could not come to terms with what to call it. Your characters don't have to be originally FROM this place, but they will spend ten years there. You'll know of some important people around the city once Tirk and I get to that.

  9. FLUFF STUFF:
  10.
  11. As for the city itself, there are two people that absolutely everyone knows: Johan, Hero of Chaos, and Selani, Hero of Law. They live on extreme opposite sides of the town; Johan in a messy 2-story sort of tavern at the east end, and Selani in a very structured marble castle at the west. The completely conflicting elements of the Heroes have caused somewhat of a discordance with how the city expects people to act and how they truly do. Many laws are set in place by Selani, but very few are followed. However, in exchange for following exactly zero of Selani's laws and guidelines, Johan has agreed to one rule to actually enforce: no one can leave the city to become a Hero until they are 18, and all wanna-be Vassals must report to Selani to be blessed by her, or "knighted" as she calls it, when they're young. That's basically just a fancy way of her tracking age.
