Video games

I only got in touch with video games in my late teens so I didn't get to play too much of them. Moreover life is getting in my way slowly but surely.

ALL TIME favourites
~The games that changed my gaming view (ruin other games) in one way or another~
- Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix (Heavy rando player, learnt speedrun strats, countless casual playthroughs)
- Persona 4 (PS2 + Golden) (Immediately started NG+ right after NG, almost 100% except fighting Margaret, learnt speedrun routes)
- Final Fantasy X (Absolutely love the characters, the world and the plot. But I suck at this game.)
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Semi proficient rando player)
- Tales of Berseria (Completed most sidequests and I am normally a no-sidequest player, still has bad dungeons and less memorable OST tho)
- Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling (great cast, very good OST)
- Trails in the Sky FC+SC (Elaborate world building, great cast chemistry. natural character growth, banger OST, good combat system, pretty much perfect, Estelle is Bestelle, maybe the best localization ever existed in video games)

REALLY good

- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Actually a better game than WW)
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
- To the Moon
- Finding Paradise
- Tales of Symphonia
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Chrono Trigger
- Ori and the Blind Forest (very good game but metroidvania is not my type, sry)
- Tales of the Abyss (Great story, pacing can be odd, good combat system. Guy is the top 10 dudebro in JRPG history)
- Final Fantasy VII
- Terranigma (ARPG ahead of its time, great OST to create mysterious and sombre atmosphere, slightly dark/bittersweet ending is a nice touch, surprisingly having some decent cast)
- Trails in the Sky the 3rd (spin off ish. nice to see some detailed character back story and future moves. Serviceable main plot compared to FC+SC)

INTERESTING titles
~May not appeal to a lot of people~
- Final Fantasy VIII (Plot: Mess, Characters (esp Squall and Rinoa): Beautiful, Gameplay: Mess, Music: Beautiful. Rated beautiful mess)
- Super Mario RPG
- Odin Sphere (PS2) (Fairy tale, multiple characters, everyone have arcs ranging from amazing to OK, decent OST)
- Persona 2: Innocent Sin (PSP) (Weird game. im so glad psp version is that easy i never fused a single persona [read never engaged with battle system]. story is fine ig. didnt like the music as much as i wanted to. Liked how no one is crafted as waifu/husbando but Maya is best girl)
- Child of Light (way too short. could have use another dungeon or 2, casual is a bit too easy but uh who would expect normal RPG gamer mode is named Expert. nice combat system though can feel slow every battle. nice little fairy tale, half decent cast)

PRETTY nice but skippable
~Don't waste money/time on these unless you can afford to~
- Tokyo Xanadu Ex+ (I will always use this phrase to describe this game: Budget Persona 4 - Made with Lots of Love. Edit: Seeing what Falcom had achieved with Trails in the Sky I am even more confused why is this is so mid )
- The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
- Persona Q

~Would suggest to avert your eyes on these~
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (DS) (played this for the story only cuz Roxas is my boy, Xion is eh)
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep (only played the PSP version, which is probably the worst way to experience this half of a train wreck)

- Bravely Default (Job system hurts my brain, love the OST though)
- Rogue Galaxy (Generally clunky, boring dungeons and OST)
- Final Fantasy VI (SNES) (on hold, just didn't grab me...?)
- Star Ocean: First Departure (PSP) (combat is too barebones, lack of real control, yeah Sakuraba i just dont like you that much)
