  11. Revealing the mystery project as Speedrun Breakdown last Monday went insanely larger than I ever expected. In May, it originated as "Trihex's Yoshi Tutorials", but with collaboration w/ IE6 grew to try to better the community in as many ways as possible.

  13. It received largely negative reaction on /r/speedrun. I got more questions of its actuality than excitement on twitter (though I feel that's more because target audience [future GDQ watchers skimming YouTube to get into speedrunning] is a silent majority not present for its reveal). But I'm excited to elaborate much further on SRB in aid of boosted transparency to build trust tomorrow.

  15. Understandably, I won't get much until I have videos to show my vision and pull off production to convince others this is worth doing, but that's a challenge I will try my best to address.

  19. ▤▤▤ SpeedrunBreakdown production process detailed
  20. Tomorrow, I'll have a graphic to show the 10-step production process of SRB. Help show everyone how serious I take it, and of what quality I am aiming for. Here's the breakdown in boring text-only:

  22. --> General Notes of entire game (compile all to-be-used Speed Tech; list any problems w/ making a linear tutorial of target speed game; whether there must be a beginner/expert route, etc.)
  23. --> "Game Chapters" Outlines (arrange your notes into game-intended chapters (like Paper Mario's); add cross-references wherever relevant ("This thing we do in Ch2 is the easier version of the same puzzle in Ch6", etc.)
  24. --> Assign Chapter Notes into 10min segments for YT Meta (figure out good end-points for each video as a satisfying independent video in each segment; advise timing each portion of your notes to you have a ballpark of running time)
  25. --> Begin script (What you actually want to say in each video; implement any video-editing-as-informational-tools to be used [picture-in-piture, real-time item hud, show overworld map w/route markings, etc.])
  26. --> Peer Review (braintrust, and possible others NOT fluent in the target speedgame read script, point out anytime things that are hard to follow or digest)
  27. --> Revise
  28. --> Final Review
  29. --> Produce all videos needed labeled w/ time-stamps
  30. --> Enter Production (videos get made)

  35. When revealing the production process, I'll also have an accompanying pastebin elaborating on many details of SRB assumed since they weren't explicitly detailed during reveal presentation. It's my first formal response to all the criticism/misconception/hate of SRB. It'll detail:

  53. I haven't done a follower special since 10k but figured doing a cool event with a catchy marketing is most appropriate. I am going to do a 24hr-ish stream of a single game. One I've wanted to play since 2014 but never found time because too busy feeling guilty about Yoshi WR. This stream will also serve another purpose, but I wanna wait until next newsletter to detail anything further.

  60. Continuing theme of Eddie Murphy tribute (part 2 of 3), I will show 1987's stand-up classic RAW. But I'm a bit busy with pre-TwitchCon preparing to do the 2nd of August's double-feature FMN this Friday. So let's push it back and see how I'm doing schedule-wise next week.
