  1. >Eat and drink everything FS gives you
  2. >Search for answers as well
  3.
  4. “Do you want some of this? It's really good...” You gesture to the plate in front of you, the scent still wafting deliciously from it.
  5.
  6. “Oh, don't worry about me... I already ate...” Fluttershy blushed as she pushed her index fingers together. “But thank you... I wasn't sure if you would like it.”
  7.
  8. “It's delicious.” Another forkful of food entered your mouth as you met her eyes. Smiling, you bringing the glass of Apple flavored milk up to your lips and taking a deep drink of the delicious fluid. You can't help but keep glancing over at Fluttershy, unable to ignore her more curvy figure. “Uh, Fluttershy? If you don't mind me asking... is... did the Heat... change you?”
  9.
  10. Fluttershy blinked curiously for a moment before she realized what you were referring to with a crimson stained face. She hunched over embarrassed as she hid behind some of her hair as she looked away from you.
  11.
  12. “...yeah... Twi said the spells... y'know...” Fluttershy barely whispered, steadily looking down at her feet. “...it looks weird... doesn't it...”
  13.
  14. You don't think Fluttershy looked weird at all, although her loose fitting sweater and ankle length skirt didn't permit you to get a good look at her enhanced figure... but Fluttershy didn't seem to have enough confidence to realize it herself. Perhaps she could do with a compliment? Or at least distract her by asking her something, maybe about the milk?
  15.
  16. 5 or 9 decides
  17.
  18. >Roll for milk
  19.
  20. “You don't look weird... in fact, I kind of like it...” You try to reassure her, but at your words she seemed to want to draw even further into herself with a heavy flush. Deciding that you didn't her creating a black hole of shyness, you finish your glass of milk before changing the topic of the conversation. “This milk is really good... did you add something to give it the apple flavor?”
  21.
  22. “It's... um... naturally tastes like that.” Fluttershy quietly stated, glad that the conversation had changed but still flush faced. “We get it from... well, Applejack brings it to us...”
  23.
  24. “I thought she didn't have any cows...”
  25.
  26. “She... doesn't.” Fluttershy continued to press her fingers together. “She... has another way of... getting it.”
  27.
  28. “Another way...?” The question came naturally, before a thought came naturally and you stared down at the trace of fluid still in the glass. Tipping it back, you allow the fluid to touch your taste buds. “Do you have any more?”
  29.
  30. “Yes... let me take care of this first... and I'll get more for you.” Fluttershy reached down to pick up the tray and you lift it to help her. Her hand brushed yours in the process and she froze in place as she stared at you with her still flushed face. Swallowing hard, she can't help but smile a little before she realized what she was doing and she seized the tray and hurried out of the room. “I'llberightback.”
  31.
  32. You can help but stare at her until the door closed behind her. Shaking your head, you stretch in bed and consider what to do next. The bed was incredibly comfortable and you were tempted to stay in bed and let Fluttershy take care of you... but you knew you'd have to leave it eventually to get on with your day.
  33.
  34. 2 or 8 decides
  35.
  36. >Up and at em, we've got a long day of SCIENCE! Ahead of us
  37.
  38. As much as you'd like to spend all day lazing about in bed, having Fluttershy tend to your needs you realize that you've already spent two days there and it was time to get out before you started to develop bed sores. Throwing the blanket off, you swing your legs over the side of the bed and unsteadily rise to your feet. Gazing into a mirror, you see that your time in bed had allowed the hairs of your chin to recover from Rarity's razor and it feels scratchy as you rub your hand over it. You spend a moment ensuring that you were half way presentable before you head to the door. It opens before you had time to grasp the handle, revealing Fluttershy with a tall glass of milk.
  39.
  40. “Are you sure you should be up?” Fluttershy asked worriedly, handing the glass to you. “You've been asleep for so long...”
  41.
  42. “I'm fine... I needed to get up on my feet anyway.” You pause to take a series of greedy gulps from the glass. “And I want to check on how much work Twilight's managed to do.”
  43.
  44. “If your sure...” Fluttershy sounded almost a little disappointed at missing an opportunity to dote on you. “Twilight's working downstairs right now...”
  45.
  46. The two of you head downstairs, Fluttershy walking close enough that she was practically touching you without actually doing so. As you walk into the lobby, you notice that the tables are covered in even more notebooks and loose sheets of paper and there are whiteboards set up all around the room. Intricate circular designs cover them and they seem mostly identical. The designs didn't change a whole lot from copy to copy, but parts of each were highlighted in different colors and there are little post it notes attached to each one. You spot Twilight standing at one, carefully consulting a data readout as she traced out a new circle on the whiteboard. Besides the librarian, you spot two figures huddled together snoozing in a pair of chairs pushed together. You can't see their faces, but you can see a mop of electric blue hair and long black hair leaning against each other. Glancing around, you don't see Flare Watcher anywhere, but you surmise that she might be guarding the door outside.
  47.
  48. “Anon...?” Twilight noticed you after a moment, turning around to greet you with a beaming smile. “You're awake! You gave us a little scare when you didn't wake up with the others...”
  49.
  50. “I didn't mean to oversleep like that...” You gave an apologetic smile, before you feel her arms wrap around your torso to hold you close. Smiling down at her, you enjoy the sensation of her form against yours as you quietly note that much like Fluttershy, her figure had grown more substantial since you've last seen her. Speaking of Fluttershy, you notice her out of the corner of your eye looking a little left out. Looking back at Twilight, her gaze met yours and she gave you a slight nod before both of you seized a hold of the shy woman and pulled her into the embrace. Fluttershy trembled a little bit, but slowly began to relax as you all held each other close for a long time before finally having to let go. The smile on both of their faces refused to leave, however.
  51.
  52. Taking a look around, there were so many things that you could ask about... about how far Twilight had gotten into her research. About why they had undergone a physical transformation. About what those weird designs she'd been drawing on the whiteboards. Or where everyone else went for that matter.
  53.
  54. Or you could do something else.
  55.
  56. 3 or 6 decides
  57.
  58. >Ask all of those things.
  59. >Also, ask for more milk, you just can't get enough.
  60.
  61. “So... who are our new guests?” You start off asking, leaning over to take a look at the pair leaning against each other. Now that you have a clear look at them, you realize that they are Octavia and Vinyl Scratch who you'd had your first encounter with. “When did Octavia and Vinyl arrive?”
  62.
  63. “Yesterday... they'd been looking for you for a while.” Twilight explained as she turned back to the whiteboard. “I explained that you'd been helping us. Octavia was worried even before we told them about your little coma... and Vinyl wanted some words with you. They only just passed out a few hours ago...”
  64.
  65. “Let's let them sleep for now...” The words came after staring at the pair for a moment and then you joined Twilight as you take another drink of the milk. “So... what are these circles for, anyway?”
  66.
  67. “I'm mapping out the spell based on the calculations I've been doing... nobody really uses Magic Circles theses days, but they are still useful for mapping out spells. I'm trying to isolate the individual compartments of the spell...” Twilight paused to carefully examine her work. “There are a lot of threads that I'm still unsure of what they do... the physical modification one took us by surprise.”
  68.
  69. “Physical modification? So, uh... this...” Your hands gesture to Twilight's more generous figure. “...is a magical transformation?”
  70.
  71. “That's... the transformation is magically induced, but isn't strictly a magical transformation.” Twilight stated and than hummed at the pattern she'd just drawn. As she turned back to you, she must have seen the confusion on your face. “A magical transformation would cause a similar effect, but the extra mass would be falsified by magical energy. The spell is broken and everything reverts. This is different... the spell hijacks the bodies natural systems and induces them to act in odd ways. And while the spell helps speed up the process, all the raw materials and such are drawn from the bodies reserves. Hence, we've been able to determine that a modification is coming because an intense hunger will precede it. But ultimately it boils down to one thing...”
  72.
  73. “What?”
  74.
  75. “These...” Twilight ran her hand over her chest, feeling the new weight of them as she cupped them. “... and any other growth that may occur WILL stick around after the spell is countered.”
  76.
  77. “Will everyone wind up looking the same?” You ask curiously.
  78.
  79. “No... I'm still puzzling out the 'why,' but these alterations are not building toward a standard or anything. In face, the growth of each persons seems almost personalized to them... certain behaviors encouraging certain types of modification.” Twilight gazed down at the glass of milk that you'd been draining. “The sheer complexity of this spell suggests that this spell isn't a random spell form gone out of control. It was engineered specifically to target humans.”
  80.
  81. “But who?” You ask after a moment. “And why?”
  82.
  83. “I don't know... right now, I'm just focusing on the problem I do have the chance to fix...” Twilight shook her head slightly. “As soon as I've got a solid grasp of the entire spell, I should be able to create a counter to it.”
  84.
  85. “If you've got a good chunk of it mapped out, why not start work on counter to the parts you do understand?”
  86.
  87. “I can't... there is still a chance that one of the threads I haven't puzzled out may be a form of trap.” Twilight carefully erased a few errant points on the map she'd been working on. “Or they might be co-dependent in some unknown way and it could produce a completely unknown result.”
  88.
  89. “We can't risk it then...” You state as you raise the glass to your lips only to find it empty. “Fluttershy, may I have some more, please?”
  90.
  91. “Certainly...” Fluttershy said as she took the glass from you and disappeared toward the small kitchen.
  92.
  93. You watch as Twilight turned to continue her work and ponder what to do next. You could try to help Twilight, although you aren't sure if you'd be able to spot anything she couldn't. Or you could just have a seat and relax with a book while waiting for Fluttershy to return. The fact that Octavia and Vinyl were still snoozing gently in the corner wasn't too far from your thoughts, either.
  94.
  95. 1 or 8 decides
  96.
  97. “Can you go ahead with it...?” You ponder aloud as you stare at one of the designs.
  98.
  99. “Go ahead with what?” Twilight turned her head to gaze at you curiously.
  100.
  101. “Um...” What were you thinking about having her do...? Your mind blanked on you for a moment.
  102.
  103. 7 decides
  104.
  105. >Do your own investigation. Find out who is behind all this.
  106.
  107. “Just an errant thought...” You admit, smiling as Fluttershy returned with a fresh glass of apple milk. Giving her an appreciative nod, you find yourself taking another big swig from it. You begin to settle down into a seat and try to get comfortable as you sip on your drink. Fluttershy sat across you and gently smiled at you as you shift slightly in your seat. The thought of the person responsible for all of this lingered at the edge of your mind. Draining the glass, you return to your feet and turn to Twilight again. “Hey, Twilight...?”
  108.
  109. “Hmm...?”
  110.
  111. “Do you know who Patient Zero is...?” You ask, wheels already turning in your head.
  112.
  113. “That... is kind of hard to pin down, Anon...” Twilight admitted as she set down her dry-erase marker. “The first documented case of the Heat was at Ponyville General Hospital... but it was more of a group, then anything. Did you want to look into it?”
  114.
  115. “Yeah... I can't help but want to puzzle out more of the circumstances. Maybe figure out who started all of this.”
  116.
  117. “Alright... I'm sure someone has already looked into it, but maybe it'd be a good idea for you to have a look into it as well.” Twilight nodded, before glancing over at the sleeping pair. “Just remember that there will be people waiting for your return.”
  118.
  119. “I will...” You state, before settling the glass to the side and planting a gentle kiss upon Twilight's lips. As you move to leave, you find Fluttershy nervously standing by the door. Planting a kiss on her own lips, you chuckle as she visibly swoons on her feet as you exit the library.
  120.
  121. Flare Watcher gave you a nod as you passed by, which you returned before stepping out into the morning air. The quiet murmur of the town was returning and you pondered the path you should take to the Hospital if that was your destination. There was a straight shot from her to the hospital if you followed the main road, but you debated if you should take the side streets instead.
  122.
  123. 9 decides
  124.
  125. >Find the Mayor, she'll have good info
  126. >Contact Celestia. See if she knows anything.
  127. >Contact both. They have connections, they'll know something.
  128.
  129. Deciding that you were going to try to get into contact with someone in authority first, you first thoughts went immediately to Princess Celestia and Mayor Mare. You had no idea how you were going to get into contact with the Princess of Equestria, Normally, you'd ask Spike to send a letter for you, but he'd been sent to one of the Emergency Shelters once the scope of the Heat became apparent. Not that you knew precisely where the Shelter was or if they'd even let you in.
  130.
  131. Mayor Mare was a much better bet, unless you felt like tempting fate by approaching the Quarantine border. You set out toward Town Hall, sticking to the main path as you did so. You encountered a few people but no one of note or who would bother you appeared along the way. Slowly the Town Hall came into view and you notice a several barricades blocking off some of the streets.
  132.
  133. Ignoring them for a moment, you approach Town Hall itself and notice a posting on the front door. It was the same standard flier that had been stuffed into your mail box, albeit with the addendum declaring the Shelters to be already sealing their entrances. You test the door and find that it opens readily for you.
  134.
  135. The interior of the Town Hall was littered with a lot of the fliers among other things but otherwise seemed deserted. On the far end, you can see the entrance to Mayor Mare's office still had a light on and you think you can hear something coming from within.
  136.
  137. Do you wish to announce your presence before entering or just walk in? Or have you reconsidered coming here?
  138.
  139. 4 decides
  140.
  141. >we are already here talk to but don't have sex with whoever is inside
  142.
  143. Raising a hand to the door, you give three solid knocks on the door. After a moment, you can hear the sound of movement behind the door and low cursing before you hear a drawer shutting.
  144.
  145. “You may enter.” You can hear Mayor Mare's voice ring out from the other side. Opening the door, you see the faux-gray hair woman seated behind her desk. Her modest bust had jumped a cup size and a half since you've last seen her and if she were standing, you were sure that her ass had filled out just the same. The Mayor had apparently decided against finding a better fitting dress shirt and just wore her suit jacket over her new additions. Aside from various bits of paperwork, you can see a bottle of wine and accompanying glass sitting on her desk and you weren't sure if the flush on her face was from that or something else. “Hello, Anonymous. Before you say anything, Twilight Sparkle is working on the cure as we speak and no, I can't get you into one of the shelters.”
  146.
  147. “Yeah... I just came from Twilight's.” The reply came evenly. “I think she's getting close to a break through.”
  148.
  149. “That's good to hear!” The Mayor smiled before taking a sip from her wine. “...did she need anything?”
  150.
  151. “Nothing from in-town, I think. I'm just here because I'm trying to figure out who's behind this.”
  152.
  153. “Twilight thinks this magic disease was engineered?” Mare asked with a raised eyebrow. “Who would want to do this?”
  154.
  155. “We don't know...” You admit. “Do you know who Patient Zero is?”
  156.
  157. “Hm... a lot of the details are still sketchy, but the first reported instance of the Heat was roughly at Noon three days ago.” Mayor Mare paused to look down into her glass. “It was a group checking in as one... we didn't immediately realize just how bad it was going to be until much later, though...”
  158.
  159. “Do you know precisely who was in that group?”
  160.
  161. “The Hospital will likely have the admittance records... wait just a moment...” Mayor Mare pulled out a form and quickly started jotting information down on it before handing it to you. “Take this... it marks you as a Special Investigator in this case. You will have a hard time trying to convince the hospital staff to open up their records without it.”
  162.
  163. “This will make things easier...” You admit, trying to restrain an 'Authority' joke.
  164.
  165. “Is there anything else you needed?” Mayor Mare asked, refilling her glass.
  166.
  167. 5 decides
  168.
  169. >Let's get to the hospital and solve that mystery.
  170.
  171. “No, that's all I need to know right now... thank you.” You nod your head as you carefully fold up the SI license and place it into your pocket. “Would you like me to look into anything else while I'm doing this?”
  172.
  173. “No, focus on this first.” Mayor Mare ordered, before taking another sip. Staring at the glass, she offered it to you before you could turn to leave. “A drink for good luck?”
  174.
  175. “I don't mind if I do...” You take the offered glass and looking at it, you notice a trace of the Mayor's lipstick on the rim. Taking a small gulp, you return it to her. “I'll report back if I find anything unusual.”
  176.
  177. “Please do...”
  178.
  179. ---
  180.
  181. As you leave the Mayor's office, you find the sip of wine had left you wanting slightly. Unbidden, the memory of the milk you had earlier comes to your mind and you wish you could have some right now. That was impossible of course and you shake your head to clear it. Taking a deep breath, you look up to find that it was approaching noon.
  182.
  183. The main street still lead to the Hospital, but from the Town Hall the road twisted and curved enough that you though you might get there quicker by taking the side roads. Of course, if you got into trouble, it would be easier to gain help on the main street.
  184.
  185. 7 decides
  186.
  187. >sneak through the back roads, avoid all distractions
  188.
  189. Deciding not to risk an encounter on the relatively more populated main road, you begin stealthily weaving your way through the back roads of Ponyville. Quietly humming what you believe to be your own ninja based theme song, you slip from one alley way to another in an attempt to avoid distraction. You pass by a few people who had the same idea as you and a few who had given into the Heat along the way. Almost stopping, you notice a lone woman servicing a number of men in one of the alleyways.
  190.
  191. “Hey Handsome!” You hear a voice call down from one of the second floor windows. Hurriedly moving along, you pretend you didn't hear it, especially since the voice in question sounded distinctly male and you weren't sure if you wanted to explore that possibility.
  192.
  193. Finding yourself in front of Ponyville General Hospital, you find a number of people milling about the entrance. A sign on the front door declared that a cure was being worked on, but wasn't available. A second sign declared that they no longer had a stock of contraceptives or condoms available. As you push open the door, the waiting room was packed with people leaving no standing room.
  194.
  195. “Hello! Please take a number if it isn't an emergency.” Nurse Redheart called out from the waiting room desk before gesturing to a ticket dispenser mounted onto the wall. She seemed to think that you were just another patient.
  196.
  197. 3 decides
  198.
  199. >Flash the paperwork the mare gave you and get access to the records. Time is of the essence.
  200.
  201. “Hello, I am here on behalf of Mayor Mare.” You state evenly, bringing your license up and holding it out for inspection. “I would like to take a look at your record books... specifically your admission log for the past three days.”
  202.
  203. “Well...” Nurse Redheart seemed a little uncertain as she carefully read the license. “Just a moment...”
  204.
  205. Redheart disappeared into the back of the office and you stood there patiently for her return. After a moment, once of the office doors opened up and Redheart waved you in despite some general discontent from the crowd.
  206.
  207. “This is really unusual, sir... but the Doctor gave the go-ahead...” Nurse Redheart stated as she led you to a desk where she sat a think log book in front of you. Opening it up, you flip through the pages until you find the relevant date. There were three patients checked in at the time Mayor Mare described, each listed with 'unknown ailment' written in the notes next to each name. The patients were Bon Bon, Lyra and Colgate.
  208.
  209. Your gut feeling caused you to continue flipping through the pages that followed and noted the up shoot of patience coming in with the unknown ailment after some time had passed. And then you saw something that made you sit up and take notice.
  210.
  211. Colgate had checked into the hospital a second time. Flipping back to the initial entry, you note that the space that would note the time of release hadn't been filled out. According to this log, Colgate hadn't checked out the first time but had checked in a second time before being formally released. Part of you wanted to attribute this to a paperwork error, but as you flip back and forth you realize that none of the potential Patient Zeroes had actually checked out. But they had all checked back in at various points of time.
  212.
  213. “Nurse Redheart... is it possible for a patient to leave without it being recorded?” You ask after a moment.
  214.
  215. “Well... even if a patience decided to self-release, we always take note of it in the log...” The Nurse stated after a moment, before looking over you shoulder curiously. “Why? Is something wrong?”
  216.
  217. “We have at least three patience who are listed as being checked in twice without being released the first time...” You point out the logs in question, and the confused look on her face was telling. “Do you have the paperwork for these patients on hand?”
  218.
  219. As Nurse Redheart scurried off to find the folders in question, you pause to think. What could this mean? Was it really just a paperwork error? Or was it something else? Should you examine the log book further?
  220.
  221. 4 or 6 decides
  222.
  223. >Suspect a changeling plot, but say nothing for now.
  224. >Get any more useful info that might be in that book, and then get more info about the patients that might have been changelings. What room were they in? Anything notable about them, etc.
  225. >Maybe go find the 3 of them if it's prudent, but if they were being impersonated by changelings…the original thems might not be any help.
  226.
  227. As you continue to leaf through the log book fruitlessly, the wheels inside your head were turning. Could it be the work of an imposter of some sort? You recall Twilight telling you about the Changeling attack on Princess Cadance's Wedding. You had never come face to face with one, so all you had to rely upon was based on hearsay. The ability of a Changeling to mimic the appearance of another was well known, as was their desire to feed upon the love of others. Depending on the definition of 'Love', the state of Ponyville right now might very well look like a feast to them. But while they could mimic the appearance of anyone, they couldn't copy the memories and could only ape the originals personality.
  228.
  229. “Here.” Nurse Redheart said as she placed three folders in front of you. As you flip through the more recent entries in each, you start asking her questions regarding what you were finding within them. It seemed like all three had been acting oddly, but it had been attributed to the illness they were under the influence of. The rooms in question had been cleaned and put back into rotation to help to deal with the influx of new patients and nothing unusual had been found outside of the windows having been left open. Whoever the imposters were might have used them to skedaddle when they saw the originals coming.
  230.
  231. “Will that be all?” The Nurse asked as you copied down the addresses of the patients. If nothing else, you could confirm what their side of the story was and you note that Bon Bon and Lyra lived together. Checking in with Twilight to learn more about the Changelings might also be to your benefit, unless you had something else you wanted to ask the nurse?
  232.
  233. 2 or 9 decides
  234.
  235. >Find Lyra & Bon Bon
  236.
  237. “Yes, thank you nurse.” You respond as you close the folders and hand them back to her. “Just one thing... can you keep an eye out for anyone acting exceptionally out of the ordinary?”
  238.
  239. “Yes, sir.” She nodded as she escorted you out of the office area and back to the waiting room. You bid the overworked nurse farewell as you exited the hospital, a long cry of passion echoing out behind you as someone within succumbed. The afternoon felt warm upon your face as you pulled out your notes and examined the addresses you've written down. The obvious choice was to visit with Lyra and Bon Bon, living together would make it easier to collect information from them.
  240.
  241. They weren't too far off from the hospital either and you made a bee line to their residence. Stopping at the door, you raise your hand to the wood and rapped loudly upon it. After a moment, the door opened and Bon Bon peered hesitatingly at you from within. A robe was tied loosely around her form and you imagine that she used to be smaller than she was.
  242.
  243. “Hello? Can I help you?” She asked, still holding onto the door.
  244.
  245. “Yes, I'm Anonymous, a Special Investigator looking into the Heat.” You flash your letter of license in front of her. “I'd like to ask you and Lyra some questions about your hospital visit.”
  246.
  247. “Oh, uh... alright... just a moment...” Bon Bon spoke, before briefly disappearing from sight but you could still hear her. “Lyra! Put something on, we've got a visitor!”
  248.
  249. After a moment, she returned to guide you into their living room and you sat down on a chair opposite the couch that the couple had settled down upon. The two of them were cuddled close to each other as you begin to question them.
  250.
  251. “I just have a couple questions... is it true that both of you checked in to the hospital last Saturday?”
  252.
  253. “Yes, when we realized that something weird was happening to us, we headed to the hospital for help...” Bon Bon stated with a nod.
  254.
  255. “Not that they helped... the place was packed with people in the same situation.” Lyra popped in helpfully.
  256.
  257. “Did you check into the hospital at 12:23 PM?”
  258.
  259. “No... it was closer to 8 o'clock.” Lyra stated. You paused to consider this confirmation of what had happened.
  260.
  261. “You're certain? Neither of you checked in that afternoon?”
  262.
  263. “No... what's this about?” Lyra asked curiously.
  264.
  265. “On Saturday at 12:23 PM, a pair of women identifying themselves as you checked into Ponyville General Hospital.”
  266.
  267. “W-What?!” Bon Bon gaped slightly at this bit of information. “How's that possible?”
  268.
  269. “That's what I'd like to know...” You respond. “Can anyone beside the two of you confirm where you were at that time?”
  270.
  271. “Uh... yeah. We were out with Carrot Top at that time...” Lyra injected in response.
  272.
  273. You pause to consider what you've learned. You think they are being honest, but you could check with Carrot Top to make sure. The imposters were still an unknown but tracking them down would be problematic. Perhaps there is something else you'd like to ask them?
  274.
  275. 2 or 8 decides
  276.
  277. >Maybe Colgate knows something.
  278. >Find her and find out.
  279.
  280. “Alright, thank you for your time.” You raise from the chair and give them a nod. “I'll let you know if I find out what happened.”
  281.
  282. “Thank you... See you later...” Lyra stated as you let yourself out.
  283.
  284. Flipping out your notes, you glance down at Colgate's address as you decide to go pay her a visit. It was unlikely that she would have more information than you'd gotten from Lyra and Bon Bon, but it was worth a shot. Weaving yourself through the streets, it didn't take you long to arrive at Colgate's residence. The first floor of the building had been converted into a Dentist's office and as you approach the entrance, you can see the sign had been flipped to the closed position. You try the door handle, but it was firmly locked against intrusion.
  285.
  286. However, as you listen close, you think you can hear someone on the other side of the door. Should you try to get their attention?
  287.
  288. 3 or 7 decides
  289.
  290. >Do whatever it takes, whoever is in there has answers, I can feel it.
  291.
  292. You strike your knuckles against the door to Colgate's office in a series of knocks. The sounds briefly stop and you strain your ears trying to listen for their return. Time passes slowly as you wait a response, before you finally become impatient and pound your fist against the door in an attempt to gain attention. The silence was finally broken as you hear someone fumbling with the lock on the door. It took them a moment to unlatch it and the door swung open wildly revealing a trembling Colgate.
  293.
  294. You pause as you take in the sight of the dentist. She was leaning against the doorway, her chest heaving under her loosened lap coat and she was visibly trembling as she stared at you. Her eyes were almost growing red... no, they were glowing red in the dimmer interior of the building. As her eyes latched upon you, you couldn't see anything but pure lust behind those orbs.
  295.
  296. The distinct feeling of magic charging up around you made you realize that you had only a split second to make a judgment call.
  297.
  298. 5 or 9 decides
  299.
  300. >”Colgate, or whoever you are, we need to talk.”
  301.
  302. “Colgate, or whoever you are, we need to talk.” You raise your hand in a placating manner. She gave no sign of hearing you however as you find yourself picked up off your feet with a magical glow. Normally, even an untrained mage was capable of relatively delicate manipulation of objects with their magic. The feeling around you felt nothing like that, feeling nothing less than like a gigantic hand picking you up and dragging you roughly into the clinic.
  303.
  304. Finding yourself tossed into the dentist's chair, you feel the distinct pressure of the magic still pressing down on you as she approached with nothing less than the demeanor of a predator stalking it's prey. A feeling a pressure bore down on your groin, desperately trying to manipulate the zipper on your pants before she gave up. You could only stare as she leaned down over you, her skilled hands undoing the button and sliding down the zipper of your pants. She pulled down the waistband of your boxers and gave a relieved smile as your hard, traitorous shaft bobbed free of it's confines. Wasting no time, she yanked up the hem of her skirt before straddling your lap. Her soaked panties were shifted to the side as she lined your member up with her wet tunnel. There was no attempt at foreplay, no attempt at romance, just a desperate attempt to get tab A into slot B.
  305.
  306. As she sunk down on your member, she gave a long throaty moan as your hard cock pierced her tender nether region. Her pussy wrapped itself around the pole presented to it as she settled down upon your lap. She wasted no time in beginning to vigorously bounce herself up and down on you shaft as her hands pulled her shirt up to begin roughly groping her own chest. Part of you wanted to reach up to enjoy them yourself, but the pressure kept you pinned down in the chair entirely under her control. The rough fucking continued as her juicy pussy drooled all over your lap as the wet sounds of the union filled the room. You weren't so much a lover as a toy that the dentist was using to gain her satisfaction at this point, not that you could ignore how tightly her womanhood gripped you. Your groans echoed along with her moans around the room as she writhed atop you before you could feel her clench tightly around you. A long scream echoed from her lips as her gushing fluids were joined with yours as you shot your seed up into her waiting womb.
  307.
  308. She rested atop of you for a moment, staring down at you with a flushed face. There was still a distinct ring of red around her eyes, but it had diminished enough that you could see traces of Colgate's old self starting to reappear there. But it wasn't enough as her hips began to move again, slowly teasing you back to hardness even as you felt the pressure on you begin to lessen a little. It was unlikely that you had a chance at escape, but you had the opportunity to stop being passive in the scenario. Or you could continue to let her do as she pleased with you.
  309.
  310. 3 or 8 decides
  311.
  312. >Keep letting her get what she needs from you, as this will help with your line of questioning.
  313. >Have a conversation with her during all the sexy activities. Ask her what's happening, what she knows, get any information you can. If it helps you get information, take charge and really give it to her, as this will likely abate the magic that holds her somewhat, allowing her to talk.
  314.
  315. “...Colgate?” You manage to get out, before a low groan escaped your lips as she managed to get you to the point where she could resume bouncing herself up and down on your lap. “...did you visit... the hospital?”
  316.
  317. “...mmm, oh...” Colgate moaned as she steadied herself against your chest, even as her tight tunnel continued to squeeze your member. After a moment, her mind seemed to catch up with what you had asked her. “...oh... uh, yeah... first night it happened.”
  318.
  319. “Not at noon? Oh fuck... uh... you didn't check in at noon?” The question came as you tried to continue despite the distraction that was gripping you in her wet folds. Reaching up, you begin roughly groping her chest as she continued enthusiastically bouncing herself up and down your shaft. She shook her head, but you weren't sure if that was really a response to your question or not. Seizing her hips, you manage to force her to stop her motions and she gave a needy moan as you repeated the question.
  320.
  321. “Please, fuck me! I... I don't know what... ah... you're talking about. I checked in that night... Oh, yes!” She gave a scream of satisfaction as you forced her down your shaft again and she resumed riding you as soon as you gave up your grip on her hips. You briefly forget your own purpose as you thrust up into the wanting woman and you hold each other close as passion leaked into what had previous been purely a mechanical act.
  322.
  323. “Fuck... did... did you notice... something weird...” You pant out as you feel yourself approaching you limit.
  324.
  325. “Oh... oh, fuck... uh... they acted like... harder! Like... I had already been there...” She managed to get out before she gave a long scream as she tightened around you again. Any thought processes you may have had were put on hold as you feel your seed push up through your shaft and into her. You held each other close as she slumped forward onto you, panting in your arms. As she slowly came down from her high, you can see the crimson vanish from her eyes before she had to look away from you.
  326.
  327. “What's wrong...?”
  328.
  329. “...I'm sorry. I lost control of myself...” Colgate looked ashamed as she kept looking away from you. “I'm sure you didn't come here for... this...”
  330.
  331. What do?
  332.
  333. 5 or 0 decides your response
  334.
  335. >Report our findings to Twilight.
  336. >Also, if this is how ponies get if they don't get any, we better get back there before there's a whole library of rapists.
  337. >secretly hoping for library full of rapists.
  338.
  339. “It's alright... this thing doesn't give us a choice in the matter.” You reassure her, grasping her chin and turning her head toward you. “It's alright, I'm just glad I was able to help...I wasn't too bad, was I?”
  340.
  341. “It was... really good.” Colgate quietly admitted, before a thought occurred to her. “This... this doesn't make me a slut, does it?”
  342.
  343. “Absolutely not.” You reassure her as she slid off of your member and she was about to get off you entirely when she paused in thought. “You're Anon...”
  344.
  345. “Yeah... the one who appeared in a ball of magical fire...” You respond.
  346.
  347. “Well, that... and you canceled your last appointment then never rescheduled.” Colgate settled back down on your lap, keeping you pinned in the chair as she levitated over a tray of her tools.
  348.
  349. “Fuck.”
  350.
  351. ---
  352.
  353. One thorough teeth cleaning later, you find yourself setting out from Colgate's Dentistry Office with a clean feeling mouth and an appointment card. The sun's descent was giving way to the late afternoon as you pause to gather your bearings. Reporting in what you knew with Twilight seemed like the best idea you had at the moment, but you weren't sure of the best way to get back. Returning the main road and using it would take a while, but you weren't familiar with the side roads in this part of town.
  354.
  355. 2 or 9 decides
  356.
  357. >Use the main road, but go fast enough that everyone will see you're in a hurry, and not bother you. If they do bother you, keep running and say "sorry, busy." as you run off.
  358.
  359. Deciding that the main road was your best bet at not getting lost on the way, you weave your way through the streets back to it. There were plenty of people on the way, but they mostly kept to themselves as you stepped onto the main street and began taking the longer way back to Twilight's Library. Setting a firm pace, you ignore the odd cat call as you made your way to the library in a relatively undisturbed manner.
  360.
  361. As you approach the library, you see two figures standing around the door. The ever vigilant Flare Watcher was standing guard, as always, and you briefly wonder when she allows herself to rest. You couldn't see any changes in her form, but the enchantment would likely cover that up. The Guard was the complete opposite of the woman leaning against the side of the tree library. Vinyl Scratch had a cigarette pressed against her lips, the cherry briefly glowing as she took a drag off of it. Her changes were more modest than most and you briefly wonder just how the Heat determined what changes to make. Her shirt had been rendered a little tighter than it normally would be and her loose cargo pants hung lop sided, revealing one of her bare hips and not a sign of panties.
  362.
  363. Coming closer to the library, Vinyl spots you and began waving you over to her.
  364.
  365. 4 or 8 decides
  366.
  367. >Rush into the Library.
  368. >Tell Vinyl to come in when she's finished smoking as you rush by.
  369. >Before you tell Twi what you learned, see if she has any info for you. You might be able to put the pieces together yourself
  370.
  371. “Hey, we'll talk inside!” You wave at Vinyl when you pass her on the way to the door. You feel her grab a hold of your hand as you reach for the door and you turn to look at her.
  372.
  373. “Hold it, Anon... I gotta talk to you about 'tavi.” Vinyl sounded uncharacteristically serious as she flicked away her cigarette. Her grip on your arm wasn't a vice grip by any means, but it wasn't something to easily shake off, either.“It's important.”
  374.
  375. Flare Watcher was trying to seem disinterested in this conversation, but you could sense her sneaking a glance at you every so often.
  376.
  377. 2 or 0 decides
  378.
  379. >Listen to what Vinyl has to say.
  380. >But if she starts to ramble on, let her know we MAY be close to finding a cure, and you cannot delay.
  381.
  382. “Alright... what is it Vinyl?” You stop and lean against the wall next to Vinyl.
  383.
  384. “I just have to tell you something... and ask you something.” Vinyl paused, lifting up her shades to rub her eyes briefly. “You may know a little about me... a bit of a party animal, plenty of one night stands. 'tavi's different. Every relationship she's been in has been serious and she may be making some assumptions about you... especially about when this Heat business is over with. So, I have to know... was that first day a one time deal?”
  385.
  386. You attempt to speak, but Vinyl raised her hand to silence you. She reached down into one of her pockets to pull out a flask and she took a swig of whatever was contained within.
  387.
  388. “What I mean is... I know what it's like to be the one left standing there. I...” Vinyl took another swig from her flask. “...I can deal with being heartbroken. Octavia... hell, most of the girls in there, may be pinning more on you than you think. So I have to ask... are you okay with this? You can handle this group arrangement? If you aren't... I need to know, so I can start softening the blow for 'tavi.”
  389.
  390. You had paused to consider her words. The realization hits you that this is the first time anyone had asked you if you were okay with what was going on... even the most considerate of the girls you've encountered so far had assumed that you, being a hot blooded male, would be perfectly okay with such an arrangement. Vinyl seemed keen to hear you answer...
  391.
  392. 1 or 9 decides
  393.
  394. >"I don't know the answers to that until we solve this Heat problem. None of us can possibly know our real feelings til then. If Twilight has made some progress, I just might have an answer for you very soon."
  395. >Now go inside and find out what Twilight knows.
  396.
  397. “I don't know the answers to that until we solve this Heat problem. None of us can possibly know our real feelings til then.” You respond and Vinyl offers you her flask. You take a swig of the burning fluid before returning it. “If Twilight has made some progress, I just might have an answer for you very soon.”
  398.
  399. “I guess that's a good answer...” Vinyl admitted, pocketing the flask. “I'm just... worried about 'tavi, you know?”
  400.
  401. You nod at her with a knowing smile, while she pushes off the wall and joined you as you entered into the library. Looking around, you note that it still looked mostly like a library. A few of the whiteboards had been cleared away, but the remainder were still covered in those strange circles that Twilight had been mapping the spell upon. It looked like she had started narrowing down the possibilities to a select few... but there was something odd about them. Something you couldn't quite put your finger on right away.
  402.
  403. Several of the tables had been moved to the side and the floor of the library had several blankets and pillows spread out. It seems that a lot of your new lovers had gathered in the library for some unknowable reason and were occupied with a variety of things. Slowly you make your way over to where you see Twilight sitting in a chair with her skirt hiked up. Kneeling between her legs, Rarity was burying her face between Twilight's thighs and delighting in the sounds she could cause the librarian to make. You give greetings to a few of the girls as you pass them, but made it clear that you had to check in with Twilight before you could afford to have any fun. As you reach her, Twilight gave out a long, shuddering moan as she came under Rarity's ministrations and the fashionista leaned back and visibly licked her lips.
  404.
  405. “Mm... Anon...?” Twilight dreamily asked as she came down from her high. Rarity vacated her place between the librarians legs to laze upon one of the nearby pillows to slowly stroke herself as she watched you.
  406.
  407. “Hey, Twilight...” You settle down next to her chair as she gently brushed her lips against yours. “How are things going...?”
  408.
  409. “Mm... Rarity is so good at that...” She admitted, before a thought occurred to her and she looked embarrassed for a moment. “Oh, you mean... the Heat. Sorry, I just needed to take the edge off. I've managed to narrow down the possible spell matrices... I should be able to start roughing out a potential counter spell soon. But... it still feels like I'm missing something. I don't know what it is, though...”
  410.
  411. 3 or 7 decides your next action
  412.
  413. >Tell her what we know, see if it helps.
  414.
  415. “Well... I'm not sure if I can help you with that, but I did do some fact finding on our potential Patient Zeroes.” That got Twilight's attention as you settled down in a chair next to her. “What I found out is really worrying me...”
  416.
  417. “What is it?” Twilight tilted her head, smoothing out the hem of her skirt.
  418.
  419. “The first three instances of the Heat was a group of people checking into the Hospital at around Noon. Bon Bon... Lyra... Colgate...” You count them off on your fingers. “The problem is... they also checked in again later that day, without having checked out the first time.”
  420.
  421. “A paperwork error...?” Twilight shook her head. “No... not only does Nurse Redheart keep impeccable records, you wouldn't be bringing it up if it were something simple.”
  422.
  423. “You're right... I went ahead and followed up with all three of them.” The statement came evenly from your lips. “None of them checked in at the original check in time.”
  424.
  425. “Do we have any idea of who they actually were?” Twilight asked curiously.
  426.
  427. “Although Nurse Redheart didn't personally check them in, she assured me that they seemed to be who they claimed to be.” You pause to consider your next words. “You once told me about the Changelings... do you think they might be behind this...?”
  428.
  429. “Hm... it's a possibility. It is kind of risky to stage something this big after the losses they incurred last time...” Twilight tapped her finger against her chin. “While I don't want to rule out non-Changeling imposters, it is a strong possibility. They could easily feed in the confusion but they would have no way of getting out of the Quarantine to return to their Hive. And they wouldn't be able to build one here without us noticing. Especially since I worked out a detection spell...”
  430.
  431. “A detection spell...?” You ask and Twilight nods in response before you can feel the tell tale feeling of magic briefly fill that air before suddenly stopping. Everyone in the room looked confused as they were glancing around wondering what just happened.
  432.
  433. “Limited range and a little taxing... but if there were any Changelings here, they would be illuminated by the spell.” Twilight calmly explained after glancing around the room. “I was trying to work on a more efficient and effective version of this when the Heat hit.”
  434.
  435. “Is it possible to cast it on the entire town?”
  436.
  437. “Theoretically, but it would practically burn me out and it wouldn't be very effective.” Twilight took on a explanatory tone. “There isn't any real feedback from the spell other than the visible glow. So we'd have to let a lot of people know what we were doing and every person we do tell has the risk of tipping off any Changelings.”
  438.
  439. “Kind of defeats the purpose of it then...” You admit. “Is there anyone you are suspicious of?”
  440.
  441. “Some time after the Quarantine went up, a messenger claiming to be from Canterlot arrived. He asked about the situation and my progress before leaving... but Flare Watcher had no idea what was going on in here.” Twilight continued. “We think that messenger was a fake... we're just waiting for him to show up again to try to get more out of him.”
  442.
  443. Pausing in thought, you take a look around the room. Vinyl Scratch and Octavia were sitting next to each other and the Cellist gave you a slightly blushing smile as she noticed your eyes upon her. Rarity was lounging on a set of pillows, glancing seductively at you. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were chatting quietly with each other, even as Fluttershy kept shooting glances at you whenever she thinks you aren't looking. You can't help but notice that unlike the other women in the room, Pinkie seemed almost entirely unchanged by the Heat. Off in the corner, Gilda was set on being as anti-social as possible despite Dash trying to prod her to join the group.
  444.
  445. As you spot Applejack, you had to do a double take as she was the most radically altered person you've encountered thus far. She had already been a tall woman, but she'd grown to match her elder brother's height. Her frame had generally grown to match her new height, but her chest, hips and ass had grown much larger than proportion would require. She was reclining against a pillow set against the wall, a newer looking milking machine tugging at her teats but it looked like she was now producing something.
  446.
  447. 2 or 8 decides
  448.
  449. >If Twilight can give you some kind of Changeling detector, you could scan most of the town without arousing suspicion.
  450. >This would give us an excuse to visit most of the town, and we'd know who we could trust.
  451. >Also, if such a detector is possible, hospital first.
  452.
  453. “Do you think you could build something that could detect Changelings?” You ask after a moment, wheels turning in your head.
  454.
  455. “Not right away... the spell is still very much a work in progress. And you aren't a mage, so I'd need to spend time building a device to cast if for you...” Twilight paused to think. “If I did, it wouldn't be able to hold more than a handful of casting charges either. You'd have to come back often to get it recharged. Too many inefficiencies... and I won't be able to work on it and the Heat research at the same time, either.”
  456.
  457. “Every moment spent on it is a moment spent not working on the counter spell...”
  458.
  459. “That being said... I'm hitting a wall on the Heat research.” Twilight admitted. “Maybe I could work on it when I have to take a step back to gain a new perspective. Does that sound good?”
  460.
  461. 4 or 9 decides
  462.
  463. >How about we try to communicate with Zecora with magic so we can make a potion at the treehouse. We have a lab in the basement. Surely there has to be something chemistry related.
  464.
  465. “Hm... I don't really like the idea of taking you off the Heat research, not when you are so close to a break through.” You reply. After a moment, you start thinking aloud. “Do you think a potion could do something similar to your spell? Maybe Zecora could help?”
  466.
  467. “Maybe...” Twilight admitted, “But she lives in the Everfree Forest and that's outside the Quarantine Zone... I'm not sure if we could contact her through the barrier...”
  468.
  469. “...you can...” A quiet voice interrupted you, and you turn to look at Fluttershy standing in front of you with Pinkie Pie looking curiously around her.
  470.
  471. “What do you mean?” Twilight asked, curious herself.
  472.
  473. “I've seen my little friends pass through the barrier in and out of the Everfree...” Fluttershy continued. “If you want, I could ask one of them to pass a message to her...”
  474.
  475. “They made the barrier Human exclusive?!” Twilight seemed a little agitated at this. “What were they thinking? What if the spell jumped the species barrier? This isn't the kind of screw up the Guard typically makes!”
  476.
  477. “Relax, Twilight... this works to our advantage here.” You raise your hands in a placating manner.
  478.
  479. “...the barrier didn't use to be like that.” Fluttershy quietly stated. “It used to keep anything from getting through, but they changed it.”
  480.
  481. “But... why?” Twilight wonder aloud, before shaking her head. Levitating over a piece of paper, she scribbled out a note. “Regardless, can you see if you can send this to Zecora? And... can any of your animals make it to Canterlot?”
  482.
  483. “Um... my friends come and go... and Canterlot is high up on the mountain but I'll see if any of them can make the journey.” Fluttershy replied, accepting the letter. “But... Anon... can you... walk me back home? It's... getting late...”
  484.
  485. 1 or 7 decides
  486.
  487. >Real quick, why did they change the barrier? That sounds really important.
  488.
  489. “Uh... just one thing, how did you know they changed the barrier?” You pause to ask Fluttershy. “Do you know why they did it?”
  490.
  491. “Um... it's just, the first day I noticed my chickens trying to get through the barrier but they couldn't. When I got back the other day, I saw that they weren't in their coops again and I followed their tracks to the barrier.” Fluttershy nervously explained. “I don't know why they changed it...”
  492.
  493. “I know it doesn't make any sense, Anonymous...” Twilight sounded wary. “It's not unprecedented to make an alteration like that, but they shouldn't have done it based on the information they had.”
  494.
  495. Feeling a slight tug on your sleeve, you see Fluttershy nervously awaiting your answer to her request for escort.
  496.
  497. 4 or 9 decides
  498.
  499. >Just a moment Fluttershy.
  500. >Who's in charge of the barrier?
  501. >This could all be part of the evil plot.
  502. >There's no reason t change the barrier like that except to spread the Heat.
  503.
  504. “One more thing...” You begin. “Who is actually in charge of the barrier?”
  505.
  506. “Usually, it would be a representative of the Disease Control Center or High Mage's Circle, depending on them knowing who's jurisdiction it should be.” Twilight spoke up. “Although, actual authority would be with the Commanding Officer of the Equestrian Guard unit assigned to maintain the Quarantine. I don't know who that would be, though... not much information is coming in or out of the barrier.”

  510. >No one in here knows anything. Ask these important questions to Flare Watcher.
  511.
  512. “I bet Flare Watcher would know...” You perk up at the thought and Twilight nodded at the suggestion.
  513.
  514. “Yes, she was the last one of us to be in contact with the outside...” Twilight stood up and made her way to the door. A moment later, she returned with Flare Watcher in tow. “Now Flare... who exactly was in charge of the Quarantine?”
  515.
  516. “At the time of my departure, the CO was Colonel Iron Sides...” Flare Watcher replied evenly.
  517.
  518. “Is he a rational officer?” You ask just as evenly. “Not the kind to do something uncalled for?”
  519.
  520. “The Colonel is a stickler for following procedures...” Flare seemed a little curious at this line of questioning. “...is something the matter?”
  521.
  522. “The disposition of the barrier enforcing the Quarantine has changed from all exclusionary to Human specific.” Twilight stated.
  523.
  524. “But... that's impossible!” Flare couldn't hide her shock at Twilight's words. “That's in flagrant disregard for our standing orders... the Colonel would never authorize such a thing unless the order came from the top!”
  525.
  526. “So there's no way that he would alter the barrier unless the order came directly from the Princesses?” You ask for clarification.
  527.
  528. “Effectively. There are procedures in place for such a thing to occur without the Crown's involvement, but those would take several days to process. Especially since this is a Quarantine Barrier.” The Guardwoman now looked incredibly worried at the prospects of what was going on.
  529.
  530. Is there anything else you'd like to ask Flare Watcher? Or would you like to take Fluttershy home or something else?
  531.
  532. 2 or 6 decides
  533.
  534. >Walk Fluttershy Home and take Flare with you to get more info.
  535.
  536. “Thank you, Flare Watcher...” You nod as you acquire this tidbit of information, before standing from your seat. “Fluttershy and I will be heading out to take a look at a portion of the barrier outside of her cottage.”
  537.
  538. “...I shall escort you.” Flare volunteered herself to join you. You ponder the pros of having a Guard at hand to explain why you were attempting to bypass the Quarantine when you heard something unexpected.
  539.
  540. “...fuck...”
  541.
  542. “Huh, did you say something?” You curiously turn to Fluttershy, uncertain if you'd heard what you thought you heard.
  543.
  544. “Nothing!” She nervously cut in, before turning to head to the door. Shrugging, you turn to head that way as well when you feel Twilight's hand on your shoulder. Turning back to her, you find her pressing her lips against yours quickly before pulling away.
  545.
  546. “I'll see you soon...” Twilight said with a blush on her face.
  547.
  548. “Ooh, me too!” Pinkie cheered as she wrapped her arms around your neck and planting a sloppy kiss on your lips. As you were released from her lip lock, you can see the rest of the girls being to stir from their resting positions.
  549.
  550. ---
  551.
  552. “Popular, aren't you?” Flare mused as you recover from the sudden attack of the girls. The three of you continue on your way toward Fluttershy's cottage, a casual bit of conversation passes between you and Flare as you make your way through town. Nothing truly consequential had come up, but perhaps you had something specific to discuss on the way?
