They chewed on their lip for a moment before sucking in a breath. "So uh, this is gonna be my last upload. I'm quitting. No more videos, no more social media."
Nime paused a moment to scrub at their face with their hand. "I'm not going to be deleting my accounts but I'll be abandoning them. I'll be turning off comments on my videos, locking my twitter and tumblr accounts, the whole nine yards.
"Now, I know you're expecting an explanation, and I'll give it to you. See, when I first discovered YouTube, it was exciting for me. I loved the attention, and making videos to make people laugh. But, uh..."
A small sigh. "The... the community I created isn't good for my mental health. As I'm sure you know by now, my older brother was recently convicted on charges of sexual assault. That asshole raped me. Several times. And I never told anyone because I was scared that he'd murder me if I did."
They took another moment to rub at their face again. "YouTube was meant to be, well, an escape from the memories and feelings of those experiences. But the, the fanbase has... turned me into a character. Something for them to play with and make headcanons and fanfic for. I'm a real fucking person, I-I don't, I don't appreciate that. Especially the smut. I was a minor for most of my time here, too, and that didn't stop you fuckers. Some of you still misgender me, on purpose.
"So yeah. It's triggering flashbacks and panic attacks and all sorts of nasty shit and I can't put up with it anymore. The association of the content with the abuse makes me associate YouTube with the abuse now. It's something that I can't do anymore if I want to stay safe." Their voice cracked slightly on the last word. "So, for those that actually supported me, and for those I helped with my videos, you're the silver lining in all of this."
They cleared their throat. "And, uh, those of you who drew smut of me with Indigo? Fuck you in particular. I hope you step on broken glass barefoot. So that's it." A small wave. "PallidSpectre, signing off."
With that, they reached over and turned off the camera.
