- It was a warm spring day and Anon and Kagura were both walking together. It was somewhat strange though, as on this day Kagura had decided to walk around in her teenage form. Anon had barely seen this version of her, Kagura usually went from child to adult but never the state in-between. To go along with this, Kagura had been somewhat depressed lately. As to why, even Naraku wasn't sure and any attempts by her to figure it out were brushed off by Kagura, who instead wanted to wallow away in her misery.
- Anon couldn't stand that
- He much more enjoyed Kagura when she was smiling as a child or when she had that seductive, confident grin on her adult form. The constantly moping and crestfallen face was something he had to turn around, even if it meant he had to inflict grievous harm on himself. In an attempt to cheer her up a bit, Anon decided to take her to an ice cream stand. After paying for the them, the two sat down at a nearby bench. While Anon happily ate away at his cone, Kagura barely touched hers, a depressed look on her face as she remained deep in thought.
- This was bad, Anon wanted to cheer her up, but he didn't really have any idea on how to go about it. Maybe he should try a joke? Pinch her cheeks? All of his ideas were sounding like really bad ones so far.
- "Anon...?" Kagura asked making him jump a bit in his seat
- "Oh uh...hey Kagura, what's up?"
- "Can I...tell you something?"
- "Sure...what do you wanna tell me?"
- "Well...I had...a memory?"
- "A memory...? You mean you remembered something from your past?"
- "Yes, I do not know how long ago it was. But I knew someone, his name...I can't remember it...and yet for that very fact, I am filled with such immense sadness. It's...almost like I've betrayed that person."
- This came out of nowhere, Anon wasn't expecting this, but given Kagura's situation, he could somewhat understand her pain. Not being able to remember someone fully sounded awful to him.
- "I think you're wrong." Anon said simply
- Kagura raised her eyebrows at this blunt response from him. To see him say it like that had surprised her
- "Is that's what's been bothering you Kagura? Look, I won't pretend to know what happened between you and this guy from the past...but I don't think he'd want you to beat yourself up over not remembering him. Tell me, do you remember anything else about him?"
- "Well, I remember he showed me cherry blossoms and he would always say I had a nice smile...Oh and I think he gave me mochi once!"
- "That's better than nothing I guess...now ask yourself honestly...do you think he'd be happy if he saw you so sad?"
- Kagura was silent for a moment, processing the question you'd just asked her "No...no, he would never wish for me to be so sad. I just...I wish I could see him again."
- "I understand that Kagura, but you can't let the past weigh on you like this. So live your life to the fullest now okay? I'm sure that guy would love it if you did that."
- "I...yes you're right. Thank you Anon, I should honor his memory the best I can." She said with a smile
- "Now there's the smile we I know and love." Anon said with a laugh "Come on, eat your ice cream before it melts."
- Kagura let out a giggle and did as she was told. It was odd, but she felt a similar feeling while being with Anon, it was the same as her memories. Perhaps being with him would make dealing with things like this easier as time went on.
