  1. [18:25] Xog'thadoth says, "Tototl..we're sure your wondering why we'd..ask you to come to this strange area."
  2. [18:25] Tototl says, "... Very much so, yes."
  3. [18:26] Xog'thadoth says, "We're...going to give it one more rather..unqiue attempt to connect with the..ah "lunar star" as..Perceus called it."
  4. [18:27] Tototl asks, "Take it you'll need a fair bit of blood then- Or do lunar stars work differently?"
  5. [18:27] Xog'thadoth asks, "Not..exactly sure, you had lessions with Ohtli on..spirits right?"
  6. [18:28] Tototl says, "Of course, yes."
  7. [18:29] Xog'thadoth asks, "Perhaps..that could work here?"
  8. [18:29] Tototl asks, "Ah... Perhaps? There's bound to be a spirit up there somewhere- You'll be setting up runes then?"
  9. [18:29] Xog'thadoth says, "Indeed...just a..a moment."
  10. [18:45] Phu..A light huff escaped the swarm of rats as they seemingly seperated to reveal the giant rat once more. A faint pause in the distance as they seemingly turned towards the moon in all its radience before focusing at the task at hand. Dipping both paws into its maw a gleam of light was seen shimmering from it before they removed them. One cloaked in pure starlight as the other was cloaked in the hottest flames. Laying down a fiery star-infused pattern into the ground around him, Forming a circle fitted with runes of fire and cosmic together. After a few seconds the swarm of rats soon kicked into gear. Spreading more lines criss crossing the spanning field before it soon became a spanning circle with outward curves.
  11.
  12. Seemingly plastered in the middle of it all the rat seemingly sat on its hauthes as it in turned gave Tototl a nod as it smiled its ever the less eary smile. Though it ment to harm...usually.
  13.
  14. "We...are ready whenever you are Tototl."
  15. (Xog'thadoth)
  16. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  17.
  18. [18:53] Tototl floated idly by as the swarm of rats divided and conquered. Slowly he descends, ginger footsteps landing among that boggy ground. How strange - The fifteen years he'd been here he'd never seen this place before. Those brown hues watch the diligent work of Xog, paws coated in cosmic mana and scorching flames.
  19.
  20. With the symbols set in the ground and the order given, a sacrificial steel dagger is withdrawn from the cloth about his waist. Carving a jagged cut into the forearm of his right arm, he begins the slow and arduous process of what he knows as Spirit summoning. Two more marks were carved into his skin to allow the crimson liquid more flow. First came the distraction circle, to ward off those ever hungry Spirits from the intended communication.
  21.
  22. With the large blot of offering made, he begins to slowly walk about to each rune. A generous helping of blood is let out among each marking. The Chieftain was nearly staggering once he finished offering his blood, each mark filled. Half-lidded, glowing eyes then look towards Xog as wisps of cyan drift towards each of those crimson-coated areas.
  23.
  24. "Call ah... Call them forth." A weak muttering, but the man would recover given time. His vision shifts towards the distraction circle, noting the forming menagerie of Spirits.
  25. (Tototl)
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27.
  28. [19:08] A worrying glance towards the chieftain as they spilled a rather generous offering of blood...to say the least the rats were deathly worries about. Though there was something strange about this place.. They seemingly found it on their way back to Gehenna but..something about it held a strange mystery too it. But with the rather pale loking gehennan. Cyan whisps drifting towards each of the crimson blessed areas. It was now or never..And so they started, Calling forth to the same star that lended their strength ages ago.
  29.
  30. "Phu..Hear us today, We beseach you once more..for what we need only you can give. The strength to protect our home..we were kicked out once, We wish it to never happen again. To protect our home from all those that oppose Gehenna..please...We need you're power now more than ever.."
  31.
  32. Seconds...minutes..hours seemed to pass as nothing seemingly happened. A faint blowing of wind before that too died down. There was..some new feeling within Xog..Dissapointment.
  33.
  34. "We..we are sorry Tototl, It seems..we've wasted you're time as well as ours."
  35. (Xog'thadoth)
  36. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  37.
  38. [19:15] That plea towards Xog's cosmic Spirit is initially not heard. Perhaps it was the loss of blood that had forced such confusion, or perhaps it was the amount of focus he had to place in shifting his mana into each sigil. That time was spent merely standing there, his breathing slowing down as the wounds eventually began to slowly halt their flow.
  39.
  40. His teeth grit as Xog spoke up, and with a slow breath in he merely mutters a few words. "Keep. Going." Simple, but the Chieftain wasn't about to up and quit over the lack of two-way communication.
  41.
  42. Steady mutterings pass under that breath of Tototl as the cyan wisps continue to pour out of his form. Sigil by sigil is filled with virulent, cyan mana while the distraction circle is practically a blue blaze. The menagerie of Spirits were restless near the fake summoning circle, but they were at least distracted for the time being. "My man with yours- Trust me. It'll draw something near I believe-"
  43.
  44. A slight hiss of pain erupted from the snow-haired Gehennan; An hour long session of expulsing mana was far too draining for most, but for Xog he'd stick through it.
  45. (Tototl)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [19:42] Xog seemingly stared at Tototl. The whispy strands of cyan mana continued to pour out like a flowing river. Filling up each sigil with mana. A haunting blue blaze encrouching to distract the spirits near his distraction circle...but that blue blaze...It soon lit a fire that was visible in the demons beady eyes.
  49.
  50. Even the chieftain was trying his hardest..and so would the demon. A deep breath would expand through the demon as it let it go, Fire and cosmic mana seeming to dance across the runic circles on the ground as they merged even further. Runes practically leaping off the ground as they continued to create more and more symbols. Almost a comclave dome of runic energy seemed to float around them..like a glass dome. Once more the rat called out. And with this..the rats own eyes shined with its twin mana. Fire and cosmic pettering out through both eyes as it gazed towards the moon.
  51.
  52. "Phu..We ask of you again. No..we REQUEST That you heed us! We..wish to chose our own path as a demon. One much less of carnage, one that simply joins in a semi harmony..to defend what we know is right. Phu, Lunar spirit of the blue star..beseach us with your power!"
  53.
  54. For a moment..everything felt still, Too still. Thats when the wind picked up slightly, to a much more dramatic pace, Billowing winds shifting the lily pads that surrounded the marshy ground. Even the clouds themselfs parted to reveal the moon in its brighter radiance, But something was happening..changing within the rats. Their cosmic mana that cloaked them took that ever familar hue of icy blue to an ocean deep blue. The moons ever acurate beams of moonlight seemingly landed on the outer edges of the runes before one landed on were Xog was. The giant rat kept its gaze focused into the beam of moonlight as a voice rang out like crystal. An ever chilling drop of ice into an endless depth.
  55.
  56. "We have watched you for some time now..Giving tiny snippets of our mana when we felt that you deserved them..But now I think that..you're ready. We'll communicate with you as long as you uphold an oath to not disturb the dead. For their souls have already met a fate you cant save them from..do you agree?"
  57.
  58. For a second they seemingly fell silent. Debates and swirling questions entered their head for a moment before turning their eternally burning gaze to Tototl. A man who saw things differently..A mortal, A friend.. With a deep inhale the giant rat was finally clear cut on an answer. An answer that it in itself..felt truely right.
  59.
  60. "We..Are ready to accept that oath. The dead will be left to rest around us, For they..deserve to enjoy their eternal slumber."
  61.
  62. Another second as the moonlight grew stronger than before, an almost unbearable scorching was sent throughout the rats as they endured all of it. A testiment to their truth..
  63.
  64. "We have looked into you're being..and see the honesty that we need. We..shall help you."
  65. It seemed..that Phu was satisfied for now. But they're would be many tests it seemed..even as the giant rat collapsed to the ground within its runes as the moonlight faded away. Leaving smudges of mana across the ground.
  66. (Xog'thadoth)
  67. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  68.
  69. [19:51] The swamp was a dance of cosmic flames and mana, the world slowly spinning about the Chieftain as Xog continues his own incantations. Whoever this 'Phu" was needed to hurry up - Spirits, he could barely stand at this point. Gingerly Tototl teeters there, brown hues lazily scanning the lightshow they'd created. If he were more conscious, he'd probably let out a huff of amusement - All he could manage was a wheeze.
  70.
  71. Then that icy blue mana creeped on Xog, overtaking that yellow glow. Staring he'd watch closely as that voice rang out about the gathering. Those icy words were half-regarded mainly due to the fact he was barely able to stay awake! As Xog's gaze shifts towards himself he lets a tired, exhausted smile decorate his mug.
  72.
  73. Moonlight continued to shine down on that small island in the swamps, gradually concentrating on the demon and its swarm. The Chieftain swore he could see the muggy grass singing ever so slightly, and as the rat king fell to the ground the cyan flames and wisps die away in the wind.
  74.
  75. Then the Chieftain falls to his knees, exhausted. He believed they had done it, but Spirits at what cost of his own mana? An exhausted, dry chuckle passes Tototl by - What a strange course of events.
