  1. Hi! If you would like me to scrape a tournament signup sheet for you, please fill this out and include it in your PM. Please close signups at least 12 hours before the auction and notify me when the thread is locked.

  10. -------
  11. FAQ
  12. -------
  13. Q: Why 12 hours, does it take you that long to make the sheet?
  14. A: No, it only takes a few minutes, but I might be like... asleep or outside when you PM me.
  15.
  16. Q: Will you update the preliminary sheet so we can do mock drafts?
  17. A: Sure, I'll try to periodically update a preliminary sheet as requested, though I will probably not do an update if there have only been a few new signups since the last update.
  18.
  19. Q: Should I give you my email address?
  20. A: Probably not. By default I will set the signup sheet to View Only access, and you only need to give me an email address if you really need to have Edit access to the sheet for some reason.
  21.
  22. Q: How strictly do people have to follow the signup format?
  23. A: If you want additional columns like tiers, availability, timezone etc. to get processed perfectly, then people should follow the format strictly. If you only really need the list of posters in the thread, then it doesn't matter what people are posting (also, in that case, please check if you can just use https://www.smogon.com/bracketmaker/ ).
  24.
  25. Q: I edited my signup post. Can you fix my row in the sheet?
  26. A: The record in the sheet will reflect your edit the next time I update the sheet. I scrape the entire thread each time to catch any edits or deleted posts, so you don't need to tell me if you edit your post.
  27.
  28. Q: How do you make these signup sheets?
  29. A: I use Python's Scrapy framework to get the raw data from a thread and then I make the tier columns in R. I wrote the code back in 2016ish as practice for a college class and now I am eternally beholden to make these tournament signup sheets...
  30.
  31. Q: Where can I contact you?
  32. A: I'll respond fastest at pluviometer#0350 on Discord, but feel free to VM or PM P Squared on Smogon if you prefer that.
