  1. I finished casually playing Reshef of Destruction today with the mod that removes the cursor, and I'm amazed at how fun the game is with that change. I'd say it's the second-best Yu-Gi-Oh! game I've played, behind Forbidden Memories. The duel mechanics, deck construction, difficulty, and story all hit the spot for me. It's a big improvement over The Sacred Cards.

  3. I definitely want to speedrun this game soon. I will be running it without the cursor, without manip, and in English. I think it will be more similar to FM than any other Yu-Gi-Oh! game. You have to make a lot of decisions about farming, managing your deck, and deciding when to heal your Life Points, and each run will be different because of the drop, duel, and card shop RNG. Since FM is very popular, I'm hoping Reshef will catch on as well.

  5. From what I've heard, it is extremely easy to manip duels in Reshef. Even if you're not trying to manip, you will start to see the same duels as you replay the game multiple times. In order to create a proper no manip experience, I am going to start the game at a random time (as determined by a random number generator).

  7. If this category gains more runners and a leaderboard, runners will have to rely on an honor system to prevent cheating. Just like in manipless FM, a runner could easily cheat undetected if they wanted to. The details of this can be worked out later.

  9. Alternatively, someone with programming knowledge could create a ROM that randomizes the RNG. This would be ideal and wouldn't take anything away from the run (remember that it's already modded to remove the cursor).

  11. To anyone who enjoys Forbidden Memories runs, I highly recommend playing Reshef (without the cursor) if you haven't yet. Here is a download link for the cursor-less ROM: http://www.mediafire.com/file/w6z2fg73di6envd/ReshefIsActuallyTolerableNow.zip

  13. Happy dueling!
