  1. Smash Crossovers Information
  2. ---------------------------------------------------------
  3. - What is Smash Crossovers?
  4. Smash Crossovers is a Twitter account I suddenly had an idea of after seeing various memes of people juxtapositioning logos next to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I decided to maximize the potential of this idea and photoshop different logos from various game, movie, etc. franchises next to smash because it looked funny. Yes, this is just run by one person.
  5.
  6. - Do you take requests?
  7. Yes! Most of my posts are requests people have made.
  8.
  9. - Are you a bot?
  10. No. I don't use any special programs to make these things, I do them all manually. Sometimes I use twittimer to schedule some posts ahead, so, kinda?
  11.
  12. - What exactly inspired you to make this?
  13. It was somewhere around thinking about what the Smash Additions Bot does and then seeing a random image of smash crossing over with Bass Pro Shops. Then everything just fell into place.
  14.
  15. - How exactly do I make a request?
  16. You can just send me a DM to my profile. Most people can just tell me what franchise/series to cross over with and I do it. Other ways to help me with what exactly you want is providing me a transparent PNG file of whatever you want to be crossed over with. I would recommend you link said logo/thing instead of inserting a picture to me because Twitter has a weird compression system that messes some stuff up for me.
  17.
  18. - Can I use one of your posts for a banner/other thing?
  19. Sure! Go ahead. Whether it's for what smash crossover you really want to happen or something, feel free. I don't particularly care if you credit me. I guess I'd appreciate it? I don't really own any of these things.
  20.
  21. - My request is taking awhile. Are you going to do it?
  22. I get many requests throughout the day ever since my account became popular and I have been trying my best to go through everyones, but sometimes some other peoples requests get buried under someone else's request. My inbox is definitely in the hundreds by now. I need to scroll more. My computer slows down a lot when I do that. Sometimes I'm busy throughout the day and can't make posts all day. My best suggestion to you is to bump your request by submitting any other message after your initial request, which will move you up to the top of my inbox, which will make you more visible to me. Sorry about not getting to you as fast.
  23.
  24. - What templates do you use for making the crossovers?
  25. I usually do 2 variants for making the crossovers: The one with the white background and a black logo for smash followed by the red X and the black variant background with the white logo for smash and the white x. Sometimes I use the red background one too. The White background with the red X comes from the official Smash announcements where they announce a new fighter. So far this has been used for Dragon Quest, Banjo-Kazooie, and Fatal Fury. The black variant was the one where smash crossed over with Undertale. The red background one is from when smash first crossed over with Persona 5 specifically. These were all screenshots of the official crossovers a half second before the other logo popped in. There is also a variant with a white background and a black X that is used for mii fighter costumes, but I use the red X variant instead because I think it looks better. A red X is more exciting looking for a crossover context. Maybe someday I'll also use that one.

  27. - Were you really born on October 31st, 1899?
  28. I don't know, Luigi. You tell me.
  29.
  30. - Where do you get all these logos and stuff from?
  31. Google images, mostly. Sometimes I check Logopedia for cross referencing. I also check both transparent and non-transparent results so I can just grab the most relevant logo. Sometimes when I search for a logo and there's no results. No decently pixelated sized image. Nothing transparent. So sometimes I have to manually crop these images myself from other places to the best of my ability in order to make it work. Sometimes a logo is too big or small and I have to try to resize it.
  32.
  33. - Why Master Core for your profile picture?
  34. Master Core is pretty perfectly circular, which is perfect because all social media profile pictures nowadays are in the shape of a circle for some reason. Also relevancy even though its a Smash 4 thing. I was mostly inspired by a fake smash leak account with a profile picture of Master Hand on it.
  35.
  36. - What sites do you use for this?
  37. For cropping things, I use editphotosforfree.com which isn't the best cropping site out there, but it's easily accessible for me in terms of browser based photo editing tools. Recently I've also been using remove.bg which is working wonders for me. I'm not the best at cropping things and then also I get too perfectionist-like at scraping off all that bread crust on the images and it takes awhile.
  38. For putting the images side by side, I use sketch.io sketchpad version 5.0. It's useful for me for being easily accessible and browser based. It's also good for implementing hex code colors if I need to do anything to shave off some pictures or something.
  39. For grabbing a hex coded color from a particular image for something, I use html-color-codes.info/colors-from-image/. I usually do this for logos I just can't crop or it would somehow be better if I just had the rest of the background be the same color as the logo's background.
  40.
  41. - What will you do when Smash DLC finishes and the expiration date for this meme you're doing comes?
  42. Well, I'd have had a good run. I wonder if I'd still get as much traction or requests after that. It probably won't happen for awhile.
  43.
  44. - Hey, have you done (thing you've already done)
  45. I wouldn't blame you for not scrolling through my stuff first to see if I did a particular request already, so I usually link repeating requests with the one that already happened in my inbox. Sometime's it's a pain to scroll through everything though, since I already have over a thousand posts already. I have to save some links for easier access.
  46.
  47. - Hey, I did this meme before, did you STEAL my meme?
  48. I never go out of my way going through random places and stealing logo juxtapositions when I can just make them myself. I've gotten pretty good at doing this already. Sometimes I take submissions people give me, most of the time I google image search and do it myself. If something looks similar to what you made, then its probably a coincidence. In the end, it's all just assets clashing.
  49.
  50. - Do you sometimes repost some things you've already done?
  51. Sometimes I reblog some things for more exposure. Usually the ones from before my account blew up. Sometimes I delete some old ones and repost them either because the logo looked too blurry or that it would get a lot more visibility now than when I first started the account. I periodically pin different posts, too.
  52.
  53. - Who do you main in Smash?
  54. Mostly Pink Villager and King K. Rool. I also like to use Pac-Man. I juggle a lot of characters.
  55.
  56. - Why is your account from 2013 when you've only started making posts in 2019?
  57. I repurposed an old account I forgot I even had when I looked through which of my emails were linked to twitter accounts. There was barely anything on it and I don't think anyone ever saw it.
  58.
  59. - Who do you want in Smash?
  60. Ideally, Starfy. But he's an assist trophy. My runner up is literally any new Kirby character. At the rate the DLC is going, I'd just settle for Crash I guess.
  61.
  62. - Any regrets when making posts?
  63. I really hate it when I make a post and then I see I misspelled a title or off centered a logo. Really makes me wish I could edit twitter posts but twitter doesn't really do that... sometimes I delete it and redo it again, sometimes I just live with it. I usually carefully check these things to make sure I'm doing it right.
  64.
  65. - What interesting things have happened to you because of this account?
  66. Getting noticed by blue check mark people, I guess. A flex seal meme I did got me a whole bunch of free flex seal merch so that's certainly something. I also find it funny whenever I see my stuff shared on other social medias and discord servers, and then I'm like "oh yeah I put that one together". I also like the reception I get from the posts I do, either if its an obscure title or some franchise a lot of people really want in smash, or a funny meme thing. I get really surprised whenever I get over a thousand hits on one of my posts.
  67.
  68. - What will you do when you make Smash cross over with everything?
  69. I finally rest. And watch the sun rise on a grateful universe.
