Minions Stuart, Kevin, and Bob are recruited by Scarlet Overkill, a supervillain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb, hatches a plot to take over the world.
Ever since the dawn of time, the Minions have lived to serve the most despicable of masters. From the T-Rex to Napoleon, the easily distracted tribe has helped the biggest and the baddest of villains. Now, join protective leader Kevin, teenage rebel Stuart, and lovable little Bob on a global road trip. They&#39;ll earn a shot to work for a new boss, the world&#39;s first female supervillain, and try to save all of Minionkind from annihilation.
(There are spoilers for &#39;Despicable Me&#39; and its sequel).<br/><br/>MOST kids will love this movie - there is no doubt about that in my mind. &#39;Minions&#39; will provide them with plenty of cuteness, laughs, and a wacky adventure. You&#39;d be doing your children a huge favour by taking them to this movie. The only kids who won&#39;t like this movie will be the ones who have gotten sick and tired of seeing the yellow critters everywhere.<br/><br/>Adults/teenagers who have fallen in love with the main characters will most likely enjoy this movie.<br/><br/>Now that I&#39;ve gotten the obvious out of the way, I beg the question: Why do I (along with many others) think that this is by far the worst movie in the &#39;Despicable Me&#39; franchise?<br/><br/>The answer is simple (at least, for me): this movie lacks heart - something that even its predecessors had. In &#39;Despicable Me&#39;, we see Gru and his three adopted daughters grow fonder of each other - up to the point where they accept each other as family. This relationship dynamic was what made the film so funny and memorable. In &#39;Despicable Me 2&#39;, Gru finds himself falling for Lucy Wilde and admits his feelings after a daring rescue attempt. It addresses the problem of the girls not having a mother, Gru being afraid of rejection and also lead to some pretty hilarious situations. In &#39;Minions&#39;, we have... the Minions constantly trying to fulfill their purpose in this world?<br/><br/>Although I will admit that I had my fair share of laughs while watching &#39;Minions&#39;, I just didn&#39;t have the same experience of watching the &#39;Despicable Me&#39; films. Don&#39;t get me wrong - there are some great new characters introduced here (especially Scarlett Overkill), but they didn&#39;t seem that well-developed either.<br/><br/>While I can find myself watching both &#39;Despicable Me&#39; films over and over again, I just won&#39;t be doing the same for &#39;Minions&#39;. Besides, it&#39;s not a film to be taken THAT seriously, anyways.
If the Minions can&#39;t succeed at speaking English how can there be a full movie about them. This is what really bothers me. Even if their taught English they refuse to understand. I know it&#39;s supposed to be for Comedy, but I still think it&#39;s unnecessary to make a movie about the Minions you want them to speak English. I&#39;m not good at long posts, since I&#39;m more used to the 500 character limit YouTube used to have, But the minimum on here is 10 lines. So yeah, the minions don&#39;t need a full movie unless they can speak English. I know I said it many times in this post, but at least I had a reason to say it. I don&#39;t have too many things to say about this movie. The movie itself could be better.
The breakout stars of the Despicable Me franchise seize the spotlight in an enjoyably demented off-shoot that is guaranteed to send their young fans bananas.
