  5. Nine! Fantastic work drawing inspiration from real world myth and applying it with the very core premise of the strat. The character writing facilitates this well, Mio very clearly forgoing her usual approach to things for one going straight for the throat with little messing around. The anger toward what the Leviathan represents to her and the need to put it in its place vicariously through its crew comes through extremely well with most of her narrative sections as well as her tech throughout; they don’t deserve a direct fight or a chance to defend themselves, they deserve to simply be put down. Wanderlei is somewhat weaker in this regard, admittedly not the type of guy to usually enact wrath of his own let alone the ocean, but I think he contributes through a more physical means. Lightning, fog, painful rain, and treacherous footing, the man insists on embodying the ocean as much as physically possible and bringing it to bear. Very good work here!

  9. LKA had a bit more of an esoteric assignment here than the more easily connected one of their opponents, but I think they pulled it off very well. Chix and Kylian both have an unstoppable confidence in their own abilities, insisting that the only proper approach is one of a cataclysmic event: fast, inescapable, and damning. They intend to end things immediately with no compassion, as if this was the natural way of things. There’s some self-reflection on what each character sees in themself and how they intend to enact that on the world around them as if it’s just how things should be, an unavoidable truth in what they are. Could use maybe one or two more direct tie-ins with actual tech on display, but the weave into the mechanical side of things is done well enough. The narrative bits here are delightfully melodramatic with overly philosophical dialogue, very very Jojo in execution. Love it to bits. Eight.

  15. Starting with LKA, I think that you take an obvious but well executed route to accomplishing your jojolity. The uncompromising nature of Kylian's play especially does a great job of reinforcing the concepts that you set up early in the match, and your narrative sections do a good job of breaking things up and setting a tone of bemused indifference. The difference in how Chix and Kylian represent the uncompromising forces of nature is a nice contrast and everything feels both well integrated and executed. However nothing here particularly blows me away, and while I am happy with your efforts it feels like there are directions you could have taken both narratively and mechanically that could have pumped up the wow factor. As is though, I feel that a high 7/10 feels justified here.

  17. Moving on to CARC I feel that you guys did an amazing job with this jojolity concept. Springing for specific monsters that come with inherent contrasts and narrative beats was an excellent choice, and the way that those beats are integrated into the story you tell and the tactics you play is executed well on basically all fronts. I especially appreciate the way that Wanderlei and Mio’s behavior and body language are described during combat maneuvers that gives them a visceral punch that makes your jojolity plays felt in every move. This is an excellent example of taking a jojolity, defining it on your terms and maximizing it. Overall I think a solid 9/10 feels more than earned.

  25. Your narrative and mechanics came together very well here. From the very start, it felt like the philosophy of your combat embodied a raging ship-capsizing storm. With Mio’s already very ocean-wrath-esque Stand, I feel like you put in the work needed to not just fall back on that, but to really let your plays empower the narrative. Vicious clouds of thunder and lightning, two dangerous predators roaming in the fog, and forcing your enemy to submit through attrition like a desperate crew in a fierce, open ocean. I found all the imagery very evocative, and I think that kind of cohesion between the story you wanted to tell and the way you carried out combat is perfectly befitting a 10/10.

  29. You start your strat with a solid thesis statement and follow through with it to the end. For what it’s worth, the points I thought were cracks in the quality of the strat were at least a boon to jojolity, you show a clear intent to be ruthless and efficient in your offense. I thought your defensive plays with Rigamortis also played very well into this, with your bit about the beginning about the ocean simply dashing against the rocks, I found that fit in quite well with the defensive weight of your “immovable objects”. Well executed all around, 7/10.
