- So for the last couple of weeks or so I've been generally pretty unfocused with my stream and speedrunning in general. I've been learning a new game and its going more slowly than I had expected, and I've lost a lot of the momentum that I was getting from that to motivate my speedruns and stream in general.
- As such, in an effort to get myself streaming more as well as having something to stream always, I'm going to change up my priorities a little. First is the list, then the explanations/other random stuff after.
- Main Weekday/Shorter Run (Streams will almost always start with this) - Ty 100%
- Main Weekend/Longer Run - Tales of Zestiria (Relearning first then runs)
- Secondary focus if attempts die - Strider (Any%/All Bosses/RBO) or non-speedrun stuff (Fangame playing/dev/fighting games/idk)
- Shorter Learning project - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (almost done with this) / Rabi-Ribi (Was going to be my 12hc game but that fell through)
- Longer Learning project - Secret game that I've been working on offstream recently.
- This list will be reviewed on or after September 10th (So that I'm working on the same things for a while)
- OK so why these in particular?
- Ty 100% is a very fun category for me, and some route changes have happened over the last however long it's been since I did my current PB, including the PC version. I want to get back to running this seriously and go for a good time (At least sub-2:20 but further seems likely because PC).
- Tales of Zestiria was a game I really enjoyed, and the run was pretty fun for me. However when I initially did it, I only managed to do 1 run before getting caught up in other things, and I'd like to get back to it and get a good time. It's going to take me a while to relearn stuff but once I do I'll try to do one run a week or so. (Plan is to do at least one long stream a week, most of the time it will be this) If after relearning or a couple of runs I decide I don't want to continue with this, then I'll probably go back to LR NG+DASH as the longer run (>6h) for a bit while I learn my new long run.
- Xenoblade isn't coming back for a while because the route is in a bit of a weird place right now with some stuff getting worked out, and I only relearnt the whole game recently, so I'm waiting for things to settle a bit before jumping back in. Also I would like to possibly go to RPGLB next year, and would offer up XC, so I don't want to start working on the game too early so I get burned out by the time that rolls around.
- Strider is still a fun game to run for me, and I could see myself taking it more seriously, but for now I'm happy just doing runs for fun. Also doing lots of attempts is pretty intense on my hands so I don't want to overdo it.
- Metroid Prime 2 is a weird one. Learning is pretty hard, and while I'm sure I could get better at everything, right now I'm not sure I want to put the amount of required effort into getting good enough to do runs, so I'll finish learning it and then probably just leave it for a bit and randomly do work on it every now and then.
- As for non-speedrun content on my stream, while its not something I want to prioritise, it is something that I can use when I don't feel up to doing a run, or if an attempt of my main focus crashes and burns horribly. This content will include stuff like Fangame playing/development , Fighting game stuff (Mainly XRD most likely), and occasionally some casual games, but it won't be a main focus, and usually won't be what I start my stream with.
- Hopefully you guys understand that I can't run everything all the time, and choosing what I want to work on is pretty tough, especially since I don't have a clear idea of what I'm doing IRL at the moment, now that I'm done with University and stuff. The plan is to be streaming more regularly and try to keep a focus up, and we'll see how it turns out I guess.
