  1. [21:31] It was just around midday when it happened. The siege upon the southern territory. That would make for the best possible escape.
  2.
  3. When the chaos began and the shouting filled the air Elora followed through with her plan! She waited until the beasts were upon the masters camp. When they had reached the area and a few others broke from their binds and made a run for it!
  4.
  5. Eloras companions fell one after the other. First to the masters, secondly to the plagued demons. Despite this Elora continued to run. As fast as she could for as long as she could!
  6.
  7. Through the trees and shrubs she darted. Desperately trying to reach what she hoped was a road. With luck on her side the girl burst through the line of tall trees.
  8.
  9. Having jumped at the last second as she heard something thundering ever closer to her. When the girl hit she landed hard. Rolling to a stop, but having skinned herself in a few areas pretty badly.
  10.
  11. Behind her came a small group of the lesser demon.Growling, howling, snarling and all that as they charged for Elora. Who was more or less sitting duck at this point.
  12. (Elora Renae)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [21:43] The city was still in chaos, he'd just bested the mighty Kaor. Sending the beast into the darkness from whence it came. Now though? Well, he smelt like sewage and was starting to worry that his wounds from his endless crusade was starting to get poisoned.
  16.
  17. His worn slippers struck the ground with each step. His equipment in tatters, a pauper warrior using hand-me downs. Truly, he wasn't much to look at in the moment. Covered in the ichoric filth of the demon.
  18.
  19. Hopefully he didn't catch the Verona virus.
  20.
  21. It was then that he heard the scuffles not far ahead. His hand shot up to his rib, clutching it as he flinched in pain. No, wait that wasn't pain at all. It was unbridled wrath!
  22.
  23. There wings unfurled to there full length, slightly tattered but still an impressive sight. Turnign them downwards as they did so to launch themselves off the ground. Taking flight over the steep stairs.
  24.
  25. His form blot out the dim-rays from the sun above as he decended upon the scuffle. Landing with a heavy thud upon the cobblestones between the girl and the demons. Saucer-like violet hues looked between them.
  26.
  27. "Surrender, now please." As he spoke his hand reached to his blade. Wait, no these were just mindless lesser demons. Instead he laid a hand upon his forearm. Pulling free a mighty club from his own bones.
  28.
  29. It wasn't long before he brought the hefty club down, again and again as the lesser demons leapt upon him. His scales as hard as stones. Many of them piercing themselves upon the bony exrusions that coated his body.
  30.
  31. In the end though? The group lay bested upon the ground. Not truly a challenge for the draconic figure. With a wave of his hand cages of ivory encapuled them. Rending them locked away and no-longer a threat.
  32.
  33. But they all yet lived.
  34.
  35. Shifting back to Elora, the figure took a moment. His snarl lessening and his eyes slowly narrowing. Before he reached into a pocket and pulled out a hankerchief. Using it to wipe away the blood and ichor that covered his face.
  36.
  37. Taking the moment, as his lips curled into a mighty smile. "Sorry, about that! We're still tyring to round up the stranglers. Please, you look injured miss, allow me to tend to your wounds. I am quite adept at the healing arts."
  38.
  39. As he spoke, his body seemed to turn slightly red. As the heat around him rose exponentially. The ichor and blood upon him seemed to actually boil off. His own open wounds cauterizing closed.
  40. (Seneca)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [21:49] All Elora could do was cower. Curl up into a ball and fear for her life. Though, as the sound of combat filled her ears, the girl dared to peak.
  44.
  45. She saw a figure with wings and a massive bone club! One that was taking care of those demons quickly and thoroughly.
  46.
  47. When they were restrained and the immediate danger was gone Elora turned her attention to Seneca. To whom those forest green eyes stared at for a moment before shying away. She had even tilted her head a bit. So that her hair would hide her face.
  48.
  49. When Seneca spoke Elora flinched. As if she were expecting to be struck. Her arms had wrapped around her legs. Hugging them tightly and as closely as she could.
  50.
  51. "I.. I." Elora had began to say something but stopped. As if out of fear.
  52. (Elora Renae)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [21:56] Seneca waited, his body temperature slowly cooling back down. His scales starting to chill, and then fade away slightly. His horns shimmered, his wings and tail flickered. Then? They fell to the ground, useless constructs of mana-infused meat and bone.
  56.
  57. The bone club itself? He tossed to the side. Closing the cap, the meowling of the demons behind. He closed the gap, kneeling next to the girl. Softly he spoke, his words no longer containing the strain of battle.
  58.
  59. "Sssh, you don't have to speak. My name's Seneca, I'm a Cinder-Guard. You're safe now, none of those beasts can hurt you."
  60.
  61. As he spoke he'd reach out, settling a hand upon her shoulder. "Can I lift you up and take you somewhere deeper in the city. Is that alright?" As he spoke he looked back at the lesser demons.
  62.
  63. THen to the guards who'd started to arrive. He waved a hand towards them. No doubt they'd be taken away and used to better understand the threat.
  64. (Seneca)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. [22:01] A smile of gratitude would appear across his face.
  68.
  69. "Thank you Sienne, it's good to hear that you're doing someone a favor."
  70.
  71. After a moment, he would add.
  72.
  73. "Who's your friend?"
  74. (Kircheis von Astrea)
  75. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  76.
  77. [22:05] When Seneca spoke again Elora flinched again. Her entire body flexed as if preparing for pain. However, as the tone settled on her ears and the words cleared in her mind she'd slowly begin to look.
  78.
  79. That long red hair hid most of her face, but, Elora could see well enough. The Drakanite before her seemed honest enough. When prompted with the question Elora flinched again.
  80.
  81. This time though she managed to offer a single nod. To confirm that it was indeed okay for Seneca to do so. When he would go to lift her he would find it to be very, very, easy. She weighed much less than someone should for her age.
  82. (Elora Renae)
  83. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  84.
  85. [22:11] So it was, carrying ability activated.
  86.
  87. She was light, that much was easy to figure out. Though, that was a blessing to the battle-fatigued man. His entire body screamed at him the longer he kept going.
  88.
  89. It wasn't getting easier... But he'd known it would be hard from the start.
  90.
  91. "We'll go to the Flame-Keeper guildhall. Good people, you'll be safe little one. I'll make sure of it." He'd saved this one, but what of the others who even know needed him?
  92.
  93. His footfalls echoed softly upon the cobblestone. He was moving quickly, his focus fully upon delivering the youth to the guildhall or at-least any building that looked safe.
  94.
  95. Since he wasn't sure /where/ it was actually. Guess he should have paid more attention to Ashe.
  96. (Seneca)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [22:12] Seneca says, "... Wrong bar."
  100. [22:12] Seneca says, "But it'll do."
  101. [22:13] Wasn't the guildhall but he'd never spent time relaxing in the guild anyways. So this would have to do, he walked up the steps and sat the girl down in a padded chair.
  102.
  103. "Sorry, this isn't where I said but..." he didn't want to admit to being exhausted. So, he'd just collapse in a nearby chair. "Are you alright miss?"
  104. (Seneca)
  105. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107. [22:20] When she was hoisted into his arms, Elora pulled her hands in close. Holding them to her chest. She hid her face from the crowds by allowing her hair to fall in front of her.
  108.
  109. She could not see nor did she know of where they were going. Elora had never seen the city. Only the very tips of some of the tallest buildings from very far away.
  110.
  111. When she was sat down Elora pulled her legs up. Again the girl hugged them in close to herself. Keeping her head tilted toward Seneca but facing away.
  112.
  113. Looking herself over quickly when asked if she was okay Elora gave a single nod. The scrapes and skinned up flesh would heal in time. However, now that they were sat and still for the moment Seneca could probably see the healed scars.
  114.
  115. The multiple variations of what looked like lash marks, jagged cuts and even burn marks here and there. There were even a few cuts about her left cheek.
  116.
  117. "I.. I think so." Elora managed to say through a broken tone and in a very timid fashion. As if she struggled mentally to gain the courage to even say the words. Unbeknownst to Seneca this was simply the conditioning implanted upon Elora.
  118.
  119. "I ran. I.." as she tried to speak that time the girls voice faltered. Out of fear, sadness and a plethora of other emotions. Tears began to form in those forest green hues, though, she had shied her head away from Seneca once more.
  120. (Elora Renae)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [22:27] Slits of violet looked upon Elora closely, flicking over there form. They saw all that there was to be seen, absorbing the details with an intensity that bespoke of one used to violence.
  124.
  125. Then, in the blink of an eye. His grin blossomed into a wide smile. A hand reached out, resting it easily upon the scared girls shoulder. As he spoke, his voice came and reassuring.
  126.
  127. "And it brought you to me, didn't it? Don't worry, thy can't hurt you anymore. None of them can not the demons nor any others."
  128.
  129. The words drifted through the air with a steely resolve. Though normally, the Drakanite was known for there playful antics. This was something else, more serious as he tried to comfort the girl.
  130.
  131. "His gaze flicked across the scars for a few more moments and then he looked back up. His hand shifting up to cup her chin, gentle pulling her gaze back to him.
  132.
  133. "Hey, hey, you're alright... Don't cry. Please? Look, I've got them to." As he spoke a hand came to his chest, pulling aside the ragged clothing he wore, torn and shredded in battle.
  134.
  135. His chest was marred by burns, cuts, and great gouts where claws had struck. However, his shifted his hand further to his side, where the edges of a lash's kiss could be seen. Long since healed. Though, almost modestly he recoved himself fairly quickly.
  136. (Seneca)
  137. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  138.
  139. [22:32] * You have been awarded 2 Roleplay Points! *
  140. [22:35] As soon as the hand touched her shoulder Eloras entire body seized. Her heart dropped as she thought him to be striking her.
  141.
  142. It took her to moment to relax and even when she did, Elora wasn't fully so. She still retained that timid demeanor. As Seneca spoke and his assuring words met her ears the girl began to slowly look toward him.
  143.
  144. Her eyes were still swelled with tears, though, they were not falling. At least for now. She examined the scars displayed before her. Her mind immediately assuming that Seneca had been through a similar Hel as she.
  145.
  146. "Th-thank you. I.. you saved m-me."
  147.
  148. She stammered out. After which Elora somewhat flung herself on Seneca. In as tight of a hug as she could offer. Which given her current state was not much of anything really.
  149. (Elora Renae)
  150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  151.
  152. [22:42] Oh jeez, oh fuck.
  153.
  154. This hurt more than he wanted to say, like it hurt so bad. Yet, he couldn't exactly push her off or refuse the affection. After-all she needed someone right now and he was there.
  155.
  156. His hands wrapped about her, returning the hug. Gently making sure she wasn't hurt by him. He'd holder her for a few minutes. Simply letting her cycle through her feelings before he started to speak again.
  157.
  158. "You saved yourself young one, I simply happened to pass by."
  159.
  160. He took a few moments, before he brought a hand up and patted the back of her head. After a few more moments he spoke once more.
  161.
  162. "Who are you young one?"
  163. (Seneca)
  164. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  165.
  166. [22:46] Elora had no idea that Seneca was in pain. She was completely oblivious to the fact. Instead the girl wrapped her arms around them a bit tighter. If she even could at all.
  167.
  168. But, when he spoke Elora sat back in her chair. Again going on to draw her knees up and hug her arms around them. That long red hair of hers had again fallen over her face. In the direction closest toward Seneca.
  169.
  170. Her conditioning certainly ran deep. Despite her safety.
  171.
  172. "Th-they called me Red. Mother called me Elora." the girl said with that same broken tone as before. "My name is Elora." she confirmed.
  173. (Elora Renae)
  174. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  175.
  176. [22:52] Seneca listened, a hand returning to his face. Reaching up to brush some of his own ashen bangs backwards. Tucking the flowing lockes behind his ear.
  177.
  178. "Red, such a lovely color isn't it?" As he spoke his smile widened, it was a good trick to take the things that made you feel small and use them in a way that'll make you feel big.
  179.
  180. "Though, I think Elora's even prettier and it was the name given to you by your mother. Name's hold power and matter. So, let's say I call you Elora now shall we?"
  181.
  182. As he spoke he'd shift his own hand, shifting his hand out shifting her fiery hair back out of her face. Cupping it behind her ear. "I do this, so that people can see my smile. I'd like to see yours, think you can help make that happen?"
  183. (Seneca)
  184. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  185.
  186. [23:01] Red was the name given to her by the masters. It was their way of identifying her when speaking at her, yelling or what have you.
  187.
  188. If it was not said with an order given after or before, it was said before or after pain as inflicted. When Seneca said the word Elora flinched again. For a moment after the girl struggled to look back.
  189.
  190. As the Drakan spoke of her real name, Elora, the girl listened on. She found the name to be much more pleasant than red. Given it brought her fond memories of her time before the masters. Her time before the pain.
  191.
  192. That aside Elora wouldn't speak again until Seneca had parted her hair. To which she flinched again as if she were expecting to be struck.
  193.
  194. But the girl dared to peak at him again. Those forest green hues locking with his. A very broken, very forced, smile took her expression. Though it was short lived as she again shied away.
  195.
  196. "They wouldn't let me smile. They wouldn't let me do anything Theydidn't tell me to." Elora paused then went on. "I don't even know where I am."
  197. (Elora Renae)
  198. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  199.
  200. [23:05] Seneca, was tired. That much could be seen in his face. Yet, at the sight of the smile? His own features lit up, a soft glow radiating from behind his eyes.
  201.
  202. "You can smile for yourself now. Alright?" As he spoke he'd shift himself a little back. Leaning deeper into the chair. "You're with me, in the sleeping siren bar. Eastern Osrona I got lost trying to get to the guild."
  203.
  204. As he spoke his eyes fluttered softly as he focused on staying awake. "So long as your near me you're safe. Alright?"
  205.
  206. (Seneca)
  207. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  208.
  209. [23:10] While Seneca assured her Elora did her best to see it as truth. However, her conditioning certainly ran deep. Given the girl did not come to fully believe in the words. At least not yet.
  210.
  211. When their location was revealed Elora didn't nod or speak. She just stared, sort of, at Seneca. There wasn't even a hint of recognition on her face.
  212.
  213. "I don't know where that is." the girl admitted. After such she watched as Seneca began to drift to sleep. Even as his last question was asked Elora wouldn't respond.
  214.
  215. Instead the girl just watched as he fell asleep. Upon which she drew her knees in close and hugged onto them for a moment.
  216. (Elora Renae)
