  2. This is the WordPress solution for Gamers Paradise Blackburn e-commerce;

  6. **Prerequisites**
  7. If you plan to self-host this website yourself first you will need to install a software to transfer the files to the server,
  8. software such as FileZilla or CoreFTP are free to use and will operate correctly;
  9. You will then need to create a Word Press account by visiting www.wordpress.com and registering an email address;
  10.  
  11. **Installation**
  12. Upload the file named shop and all its contents inside the ‘public_HTML’ or www folder on your server through one of the above
  13. file transfer applications;
  14. Once the files are uploaded if you type in a browser the URL to the folder shop and add '/wp-admin' this will take you to a
  15. log in page, enter your user name and password;

  20. will grant you access to the account management page;

  22. plugins to install include:

  24. • Alpha Store Woo commerce theme;
  25. • CMB2: creates custom fields and forms, required for alpha store theme;
  26. • Elementor: drag and drop page builder, allows building the front end without the need for HTML or CSS code;
  27. • Insert Headers and Footer: Allows insertion of code and text into the headers and footers;
  28. • Jetpack: Multi tool plugin which allows self-hosting word press users to receive the same tools wordpress.com members receive, blocks malicious log in attempts and improves performance when loading images;
  29. • Kirki Toolkit: A customisation toolkit required for alpha-store theme;
  30. • Login Lockdown: restricts the number of failed login attempts from the same IP address range;
  31. • Order Delivery Date: Allows customers to choose their preferred order delivery date;
  32. • Page Builder: Drag and drop page builder;
  33. • Quick and Easy FAQs: Quick way to add FAQs to the site;
  34. • Simple Custom CSS: Allows a simple way to add your own CSS code;
  35. • WooCommerce: an e-commerce toolkit for selling things;
  36. • WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips: Creates PDF invoices and packing slips which can be printed or emailed to the customer;
  37. • WordPress Backup & Security: backup and secure the word press site;
  38. • YITH WooCommerce Compare: Allows a button which allows the customer to compare products based upon the description;
  39. • YITH WooCommerce Quick view: a button which allows the customer to view information about the product without the need to change page;
  40. • YITH WooCommerce Wishlist: customers can create their desired products wish list;
  41. • Yoast SEO: Search engine optimisation analysis tool.

  44. **Further Managing**
  45. additional plugins can be installed through the account page by clicking plugins on the left-hand side
  46. additional products can be added through the products page on the left-hand side and filling in
  47. the appropriate information;
  48. Too see the order status, click Woo-Commerce, click the order to see the customers details, from here you can
  49. accept the order, print recipes, email invoices etc;

  51. **Test**
  52. you can test changes to see if the site has installed correctly by typing in the URL for examples:

  54. **How to test current build**
  55. from the landing page, you will see a navigation bar, not all these categories contain products,
  56. if you hover over monitor this shows how a category can have sub categories, in this case involves both size and manufacture;

  58. CPU, GPU, monitor and virtual reality all contain at least one product, you can also search for these products by typing key words
  59. in the search bar, such as manufacture or category;

  61. you can quick view any available product by hovering over the image and clicking the eye icon, you can also compare products
  62. by clicking the product, then click the compare button, you will need to click of the black screen, find a second product and click the
  63. compare button; this can be done for multiple products;

  67. you can sign up and log in to the website, to save address information and add items to your wishlist;
  68.  
  69. you can purchase any item and follow the steps through the check out, the option robert hill is a test option and will send the order through
  70. waiting to be processed;
