  14. [Generic Misc dialogue while exploring]
  15.
  16. Trying to find your way through this stone labyrinth is truly maddening.
  17.
  18. Wish I had larger pockets to bring back most of the scrap we find here.
  19.
  20. [Generic greetings by pilgrim]
  21.
  22. - Good day, traveler!
  23.
  24. - Oh, hello, traveler! You do not intend to accompany me, do you? Mine is a long way.
  25.
  26. - Making our way to the many temples of the land, to convey our love to the gods and spread our charity to those who have the eight in their hearts.
  27.
  28. - There is so much evil in this world. Good thing there are places for the servants of the Eight to congregate.
  29.
  30. - It is idle hands that do the Daedra’s work, and idle feet that don’t stop them on time.
  31.
  32. - Sorry, I need to be on my way.
  33.
  34. - If you look into the gods worshipped in the Reach, eight becomes a laughable number.
  35.
  36. {I went to the cave and found some information about the direnni}
  37.
  38. - So you traveled to the den of those ill-begotten souls and lived to tell about it? I was doubting that anyone could make their way through that sinister cavern, let alone return with the favor I asked of them.
  39.
  40. - But the details you've spoke of reaffirms our accounts on those ancient elves, masters of trade they were called. There was no market in tamriel that wasn't influenced dramatically by the Direnni's dealings.
  41.
  42. - There trade was not only limited to our mortal realm, oh no, they even reached out to the vile princes of oblivion for goods that one could only dream of obtaining. Colossal gates found within many a direnni ruin linked our realms with those dark planes. No matter the consequence.
  43.
  44. - You could say the merchants of High Rock owe a thing or two to the ruthless ambition and greed of their ancestors. But now this begs the question, why are the witchmen fascinated with these structures?
  45.
  46. We've had theories, the most commonly spouted being that they're drawn to the residual magicka that lace most of that ancient architecture. Like moths to a flame, they gather around places that have had their presence, in some way or another, within oblivion.
  47.
  48. It would explain how the Direnni built many of their constructs, most seem to not be the effort of manual labor. But intense use of magicka and other dark arts. Such use of magics always lingers on, it's how we can date most relics we do manage to find.
  49.
  50. And a great many thanks again to you for helping us out with this research, I'll have your efforts known by the other priests of the Circle. Trust me, we're very valuable allies to have in this part of the world.
  51.
  52. - Trade with the Daedra, yes. With commendable control over the process, too, seeing how centuries later you and I aren’t slaves in Coldharbour.
  53.
  54. - Now to decipher this fascination the Witchmen seem to have with the Direnni ruins…
  55.
  56. - Those structures were seldom built by hand, so residual magicka and traces of Oblivion are the main culprits.
  57.
  58. - Oh, a lot. Probably enough to be a bit biased, truth be told.
  59.
  60. - Make no mistake – they were always savages who couldn’t stomach civilization and would sooner gut you then explain why...
  61.
  62. - …but their “ways” have sustained their lot for several eras, whereas we drift from one failed Empire to another.
  63.
  64. {Do you admire them?}
  65.
  66. - Know them too well for that. At the same time, I know enough to keep an open mind. It's the ones we are up against that are truly beyond redemption.
  67.
  68. {Can’t say the Forsworn are much different.}
  69.
  70. - They may be not different at all. Like I said, I’m very subjective regarding this matter.
  71.
  72. - Many people only see the Madmen of the Reach blades-drawn, but in my travels I was able to catch them just… going about their lives.
  73.
  74. - Like, little tykes catching frogs by the river, or young gals painting each other’s faces to look like wights. Imagine fighting someone like that!
  75.
  76. (delighted) - Oh, how I ran on that day.
  77.
  78. - It was all gone, however, when the kind of folks you’ve met started growing in numbers and slaughtered whoever wouldn’t fall in line.
  79.
  80. - But you know what? Those weren’t many. Some escaped, but it seems that most were genuinely interested in these new, even more dark and savage ways.
  81.
  82.
  83. [Rescued citizen]
  84.
  85. Thanks for risking your life for me.
  86.
  87. You have my blessings knight. Let's move!
