- A SQUIRREL'S GUIDE TO A MODDED FREEDONIA
- Step one: install Prism Launcher (https://prismlauncher.org/), objectively the best MC launcher. It allows for the creation and management of multiple MC instances, has in-built mod (mod loaders included!) and resource pack installers, and is just based generally.
- Step two: log into your MC account via Prism. Ta-da! You're almost there.
- Step three: create an instance (as of December 2025, my MCO-specific MC instance runs on version 1.21), then select Fabric as your mod loader.
- Step four: steal my mod-list! If any mod does not appear when looking it up on the Modrinth page of the Prism mod-fetcher, try looking in the CurseForge page.

- Q&A
- Q: How do I use/navigate Prism? How's [Prism X function] work?
- A: The Prism Wiki (https://prismlauncher.org/wiki/)'s the place for ya!
- Q: What's with all the seemingly useless/unexplained mods?
- A: Probably dependencies, utils, coremods, optimization -- all that sweet sweet makes-your-game-and-mods-run stuff.
- Q: How can you connect to a 1.12 server from MC 1.21?
- A: Go over the mod-list again :3
- Q: Why don't you use JEI?
- A: Don't like it. You can add it to your own instances, though!
- Q: Why don't you use Optifine?
- A: Got annoyed the first time I tried to add it to a mod-pack some ten years ago, never bothered again. You can add it to your own instances, though!
- Q: Why don't you...
- A: Let's move on already.
- Q: How did you pick these mods specifically?
- A: I thought, during one play sesh or another, "wouldn't it be cool if [whatever]?" -- and whichever mod scratched that itch, I picked.
