 They had done it.

 They had defeated the mastermind, Junko Enoshima, without any casualties.

 They, as a group, had defeated the person who had caused The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History.Y ou could see some of them hugging, some of them crying, some of them laughing.

"We fucking did it, bro." The Bike Gang Leader yelled, wrapping his arm around the Moral Compass' shoulder and swiftly shaking him.
"Owada-kun, please refrain from yelling!" He answered, trying to hide the fact he was laughing and as happy as they all were.
"Man, that was booring! I was expecting more from someone who ended the world." Said a certain serial killer known as Genocider Syo, who looked disappointed but couldn't help but let out a smirk. "But hey, Byakuya-sama! That means we can now focus in our lo-"
"As I have said before, I have no intention of that." The Affluent Progeny walked towards the door, and she followed his steps.
It was now time for them to leave that terrible place. They knew the outside wasn't any better, but also that it they were together, no one would be able to stop them. They had already defeated the cause of it. They were ready for everything. But there was someone that wasn't quite ready.

 The red-haired boy couldn't help but feel anxious, even if he had just saved both his life and his friends'. It wasn't like him, being nervous like that. He was the cool guy, the lady-killer, the rockstar.

"Kuwata-kun, are you alright?" He heard a familiar voice, but since he was so focused in his own thoughts, he didn't really pay attention to it. "KU-WA-TA-KUN!"
"H-huh?" He snapped out of it and looked around, just to find behind him one of his classmates. "Hey, Maizono. I'm sorry, I was just lost in thoughts.”
"Were you thinking about them, maybe..?" Leon opened his eyes widely in shock. How could she have known? "You're wondering how was I able to know it? It's because... I'm an esper."
"H-hey, quit joking!" He gently pushed her, laughing nervously. It was typical from her to make such jokes. But sometimes, she would make you believe it wasn't actually a joke. "What will you do now, Maizono-san?"
"I was about to go back to my room and grab a few things. You know, if the world is really as bad as they say, I should have a piece of clothing or two!" Leon couldn't believe how calm she could be even in that situation. When Monokuma first told them they would have to kill each other and gave them a motive, Sayaka took advantage of his dream and tried to murder him. Leon managed to stop her and sort it out by talking, and thankfully, after carefully explaining her motives to him and everyone else, they all grew to forgive her and move on. It was, ironically, the thing that made them decide to fight against it. Even the most arrogant and selfish ones ended up working with the rest as a team.
"Yeah, you're right. I should probably get myself some good clothes. I have to be the coolest guy of the apocalypse!" He managed to smile. The Idol answered by smiling at him.
"That's good! Ah, I should get going. It'll kind of take a while to get all my stuff given that I have some.. technical issues." He had broken her wrist when he was trying to defend himself, and even if I was an accident, he couldn't help but feel guilty about it.
"Do you want me to help you? It's my fault that you're like that, after all. I'm.. sorry, y'know?" He sincerely apologized to her.
"Don't be silly! It was my fault. I'd ask Naegi but... he seems sort of busy." They both looked for the Lucky Student, who was talking to the mysterious girl who ended up being both a detective and the deceased headmaster's daugher. "Aaah! I guess I never really had a chance to begin with."
"They sure look good together, but I'm sure you'll find someone else! You are an idol! You are a pop sensation! Every guy would die for being with you!" He attempted to comfort her, even if she wasn't sad to begin with.
"Would you...?" Maizono blushed and nervously played with her hair, just for ending up laughing loudly. "I'm kidding! I know you have your eyes set on someone else." It wasn't actually a secret, but the fact that she mentioned it so boldly made him a bit flustered. He shook his head, attempting to hide his blushing and laughed.
"Haha, of course I do! In fact, I'll go see them right now!" He might have sound confident, but in reality he was a shaking. He was both excited and afraid.
"It's ok, you got this!" He thought to himself, as he turned around and walked towards the door. "Go for it, big guy." Sayaka closed her eyes and smiled. She believed in him, just like he had believed in her.

 Leon stopped for a second in front of the door. He suddenly remember that he didn't actually know where to go, but as he started silently panicking he heard a voice coming from behind.

"Kuwata-kun! Hey!" He immediately recognized that voice. It came from his classmate, Makoto Naegi, the Super High School Level Hope, the boy who never stopped trusting his friends and lead them to victory against Enoshima. "I.. I know someone told me to tell you something, but I can't remember exactly what..."
“Naegi-kun, you might be our hope, but we certainly can't trust your memory." The detective smiled a bit and teased him, who blushed and kept repeating how mean she was. "If I recall correctly, it was something about Fujisaki in his room."
"Kirigiri-san! Stop teasing me!" Makoto kept crying over being teased, but seeing Kyoko smile like that at someone made Leon notice how much they had grown up in such little time.

 The red-haired boy finally left the gymnasium and made his way to his classmate's room. He was really nervous, but determined. He found Mondo along the way, who gave him a pat on his back before going back to hugging his close friend Ishimaru, who kept telling him to behave. He stood in front of Chihiro's room. He knew he could trust the Super High School Level Programmer, but he still felt uneasy about it. Was it really okay from him to ask his classmate to do something like that? Did his talent go that far for him to be able to make such a thing? But asking questions when he was in front of the answer was stupid. He scratched his head and sighed.

"Okay, no turning back now. This is it." He pressed the doorbell. After some seconds that felt like forever, the door opened.
"K-Kuwata-kun.. I did it!" Leon closed his eyes and felt the urge to hug his classmate tightly, but he wasn't sure if he would like that and refrained from doing it.
"Man, you are the coolest!"
"H-hehe!" The small boy laughed a bit. Even though he couldn't change his weak appearance, he had managed to overcome his insecurities and became strong by himself. "I've already packed my things... I'll leave you both alone."

 Without further instructions, Chihiro quickly ran out of the room and closed the door. He leaned on it and laughed. He was so happy he could face his fears and help someone. He ended up joining Owada and Ishimaru, who welcomed him with open arms.
It was now just the two of them. The love of his life and him. But it wasn't what it used to be anymore. Chihiro had brought them to life once as a laptop, and now he had given them a body. Chihiro created Alter Ego for getting information on the school using a laptop he found in the library. It was an Artificial Intelligence that resembled him. But that wasn't what Leon fell in love with.
Leon was a cool guy. He was handsome and the girls fought over him. When he was a baseball player, all matches would have sold out all tickets because of his fans. Even his cousin was madly in love with him. He wondered if she was okay many times and was the reason why he wanted to get out as soon as possible. But Alter Ego didn't care for his looks nor his baseball talent. They cared for what Leon really cherished: his dreams. Leon could have easily become the best baseball player in the world, but he decided that was not what he wanted and denied a life of guaranteed success in order to do what he really liked: being a rockstar. Leon spent nights talking to Alter Ego about his music and he even composed a song for them. Alter Ego, who had started as a simple AI, spent a lot of time getting to know every student, but they had definitely become more interested in Leon.

 When he first asked Chihiro if there was any chance of giving them a body, he didn't expect Chihiro to say that there was indeed a way of doing that. Using the Monokuma they had dismantled, he could get parts crucial for building Alter Ego's body. Chihiro spent days and nights trying to do it. It was both a challenge for himself and something for his beloved classmate's sake.

"B-babe...?" Leon moved forward, trying to find them.
"A-A-Alter Ego. V1.1037. Initializing." After a few steps, he finally found them. They were standing next to the table, which had bottle of wine and a glass.

 He was speechless. In front of him was a robot who resembled them. Their appearance had been kept a secret from Leon, but they also wanted to keep it similar to the original, so they ended up with both Chihiro's face, hair and body structure, but they decided to go for another look regarding their clothes. They had a white shirt with a short green jacket on top of it, resembling their creator’s uniform, with brown shorts and suspenders, and white kneesocks. Leon couldn't help but blush a bit. Normally, he would have felt embarrassed. But he cared more about the fact they were finally meeting face to face.

"What do you think, Leon-kun?" Their voice still sounded a bit robotic, but he was sure that with time, they would be able to talk normally.
"You are... beautiful." He wasn't really sure about what to do. He was feeling so many things at that moment. It was the newly reborn Alter Ego who run towards him and slipped, making Leon have to grab them before they fell, and used this opportunity to hug them tightly. He started crying out of happiness. "Babe..." He said sobbing. Alter Ego couldn't really get what he was saying since the sobbing affected their voice analyzer, but they hugged him back tightly.
"Leon. I love you!" Leon let them go for a second. He grabbed their chin, lifted it and smiled.
"Ego. I love you. You've changed my life." Tears were still coming out from his eyes, but his voice had stopped cracking. "I promise I will take care of you as long as you are okay with me."
"Leon... I see you are crying. I don't understand. Are you not happy?" Alter Ego caressed his face and wiped away his tears.
"I'm crying because I'm happy, babe. These are tears of joy." With his other hand, he grabbed their waist and pulled them closer. "I'll show you how happy I am."

Leon closed his eyes. He tilted his head forward slightly, inches away from Alter Ego’s face. He smiled and pressed his lips against theirs, while gently caressing their back. Even if Alter Ego had an idea of what a kiss was like, experiencing it was obviously totaly different to what they could have imagined. But they didn’t want to start an analysis on it, because they knew the most important thing: they were doing it with the one they loved most. The one they loved enough to make them get a body. They simply closed their eyes and enjoyed the moment. He got away from them for a second, since even if they didn’t, Leon needed to breathe. Alter Ego laughed a little, making him blush.

“H-hey, it’s not my fault I have to breathe!” They  couldn’t stop laughing, making even him laugh a bit. “Come here, you silly-!” He rushed towards them and hugged them all of a sudden, making both of them fall on the bed. “Oh shit, I’m sorry!”
“Sorry for what?” Alter Ego, as much as they knew about human beings, still obviously lacked a lot of experience. But they had asked everyone for advice, so they could be prepared for when they got their body. Specially Toko, since she was the one who wrote romance stories in spite of her own lack of experience.  “Don’t you… like this?” They said, as they wrapped their arms around Leon’s neck.  “I don’t want to do anything you don’t want me to… master.”

 The way Alter Ego said that sent shivers down Leon’s spine. How did they call him? He felt the urge to throw himself at them, but he did his best at refraining to do so. As much as he wanted to, they didn’t really have enough time. He cleared his throat and glared at them.

“Hey… don’t tease me like this. I’m just a normal boy, y’know?” His eyes were fixated on theirs. “And there’s nothing you could ever do to me that I wouldn’t love.” He really meant it, but it wasn’t really like him to be that serious, so he laughed it off. “Well, as long as you don’t try to kill me or any-“ Alter Ego interrupted him with another kiss by pulling him closer with their arms. “Hey, who taught you that!”
“Hehe, it’s a secret!”
“Alright, I’ll show you who’s boss her-“

 They heard a knock on the door. Since the bedrooms were soundproof, there was no way they could tell them to go away. Leon sighed and got up from the bed, walking towards the door. He opened it a bit, just to find Makoto outside, blushing and trying not to make eye contact.

“H-hey… I hope I haven’t interrupted… anything.” Next to him was Kyoko, who was silently laughing at Makoto’s attempt to apologize. “It’s just… that we’re leaving now.”
“Of course we are…” Leon scratched his hair and sighed once again. “Alright, I’ll… we’ll be there in a minute.”

 He closed the door and turned around, finding that Alter Ego was behind him. He gasped in shock, and they giggled at his reaction.

“H-hey, you scared me!”
“Hehe!” Their smiled turned into a frown. “We have to leave soon… right?”
“Yeah… I’m sorry babe.”
“It’s okay! After all, we’ll be together from now on!” Even though that was true, they weren’t really sure of what was waiting for them in the outside world. Could they really be happy? Would they really be okay?

 But it didn’t matter. As long as they were together, he would face the world. Leon grabbed Alter Ego’s hand.

“Let’s go! We’ll make it, I promise!” He showed them his biggest grin.
“Yes… If it’s with you, I know we’ll be okay.” They smiled back, with a confident look on their face.

 They opened the door, and took a step outside.
