Anti LGBT attacks:

Jan20: Executive Order 14151, aims to eliminate all federal programs and policies related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). This order directs the termination of DEI-related positions and initiatives across federal agencies.

Jan20: Executive Order 14168, titled "Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government." The order withdraws federal recognition for transgender people. It requires federal departments to recognize gender as an immutable male-female binary that cannot be changed, replace all instances of "gender" with "sex" in materials, cease all funding for gender-affirming care and the promotion of "gender ideology",  It directs federal agencies to rewrite policies and remove references to gender identity. Passports, social security records, and other government-issued identification documents will now be required to reflect only an individual’s sex assigned at birth. Schools, shelters, and workplaces that receive federal funding will no longer be required to accommodate transgender individuals’ gender identities. In prisons and detention centers, the order directs that transgender women be housed with men, regardless of their safety or lived identity.

Jan27: Executive Order 14183, titled "Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness." It directs the Department of Defense to exclude individuals who identify with a gender different from their biological sex from military service, citing concerns about unit cohesion and military effectiveness,

Jan28: Executive Order 14187, titled "Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation." The order acts to prevent gender affirming care for Americans under 19 years old

Jan29: Executive Order 14190, titled "Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling", aims to prohibit K-12 schools from teaching materials deemed anti-American or promoting "gender ideology" and critical race theory. It also directs law enforcement to investigate and potentially prosecute educators who facilitate the social transition of transgender minors.

Feb5: Executive Order 14201, titled "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports", to ban transgender women athletes of all ages from competing on girls and women's sports teams. The executive order threatens to revoke federal funding from any elementary, secondary, and post-secondary institution that allows transgender girls to play on girls' teams, claiming they are in violation of Title IX.

Feb19: A new HHS webpage titled “Protecting Women and Children,” enshrines Trump’s narrow definition of sex, erasing the existence of transgender, nonbinary, and intersex people from federal policy. It claims that federal agencies must now recognize only two sexes—male and female—and asserts that gender-affirming care is a form of child abuse.

Feb25: North Dakota legislators advance a resolution calling on the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges, the 2015 ruling that established marriage equality nationwide. It doesn’t carry the force of law, and it would take a marriage equality case coming to the high court for it to revisit Obergefell, although Kim Davis, the infamous anti-marriage equality Kentucky politician, and her lawyers are trying to set one up.

Feb26: Study: The majority of Americans support transgender sports and health care restrictions — yet they also support anti-discrimination laws protecting trans people. About two-thirds (66 percent) of adults in the United States support laws that require trans athletes to compete on teams that match their sex assigned at birth, according to a new survey from the Pew Research Center. Over half (56 percent) also support legislation banning health care professionals from providing gender-affirming care to minors, and 53 percent oppose than favor policies requiring health insurance companies to cover care related to gender transitions.

Feb26: The Department of Homeland Security has eliminated policies preventing the investigation of individuals or groups solely based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. The DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis quietly updated its policy manual earlier this month, as first reported by Bloomberg, removing LGBTQ+ identities from the General Requirements section that prohibit surveillance based solely on immutable characteristics. The manual now states: “OSIC Personnel are prohibited from engaging in intelligence activities based solely on an individual’s or group’s race, ethnicity, sex, religion, country of birth, nationality, or disability. The use of these characteristics is permitted only in combination with other information, and only where (1) intended and reasonably believed to support one or more of I&A’s national or departmental missions and (2) narrowly focused in support of that mission (or those missions).”

Mar7: Trump dismissed the board of trustees at the Kennedy Center last month and replaced the chairman with himself, saying that he was specifically motivated to overhaul the center so he could end the drag shows it occasionally hosts. Trump then appointed MAGA loyalist Ric Grenell as interim head.

Mar11: Republican lawmakers and conservative activists gathered in Washington, D.C., to celebrate “DeTrans Awareness Day,” a manufactured political stunt designed to undermine the legitimacy of gender-affirming care.

Mar14: Transgender people who have served the United States in uniform in the military will no longer be treated with dignity at Veterans Affairs facilities. The Department of Veterans Affairs on Friday afternoon rescinded Directive 1341, a policy that for years ensured transgender, nonbinary, and intersex veterans received respectful, clinically appropriate health care

Mar19: Texas has been quietly documenting every request from transgender people seeking to legally update their gender — and the state won't reveal why. The Department of Public Safety has recorded every time a resident requested to update their gender on their driver's license by scanning the information on licenses and sending it to an internal email account, according to documents obtained by Austin’s NPR affiliate The Texas Newsroom. This includes people who have simply asked for information about the process by phone or in-person. At least 42 inquiries have been reported within the last five months. The state has not said why it is gathering the data, nor whom it is being shared with.

Mar19: Capitol Police arrested Marcy Rheintgen and charged her with trespassing in the women’s room, a second-degree misdemeanor under Florida law. She ended up in the Leon County Jail and could face 60 days in jail, in the men’s ward, if her case goes to trial later this year.

Mar27: Executive Order 14253 titled "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History," aims to reverse what he describes as a revisionist narrative of American history and restore a focus on traditional values and achievements. It specifically targets institutions like the Smithsonian to eliminate what the administration considers divisive ideologies related to race and gender.

Apr3: A Texas teacher walked away from her education job this week after becoming the target of a coordinated online harassment campaign fueled by far-right influencers and politicians. Rosie Sandri, a transgender woman who taught English at Red Oak High School south of Dallas for three years, resigned after being inundated with death threats, hate mail, and violent rhetoric. Her resignation came just days after the far-right account Libs of TikTok shared a TikTok video she posted about being affirmed by her students.

Apr7: The Trump Administration has directed the National Institutes of Health to study "regret" among people who receive gender-affirming care for the purpose of transitioning.

Apr10: Melissa Calhoun, A Florida high school teacher has lost her job simply for calling a student by their chosen name. Melissa Calhoun, a teacher at Satellite High School in Brevard County, was denied a contract renewal for the school year after allegedly calling a student by their preferred name without their parent's permission.

Apr11: The Trump administration sharpened its campaign against transgender people by targeting their health care, issuing a new federal letter designed to help states eliminate Medicaid coverage for gender-affirming care for minors.

Apr11: HIV advocates and public health experts are raising alarms after the Trump administration moved to remove all members of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV and AIDS — a group that for three decades has provided critical guidance on federal HIV prevention, treatment, and care policy.

Apr14: During an Oval Office appearance with El Salvador’s president, Trump pivoted from immigration to attacking transgender women in sports, asking Bukele: “Do you allow men to play in women’s sports? Do you allow men to box your women and box? Because I know you have a lot of boxers.” “That’s violence,” Bukele replied, smiling as he acknowledged Trump’s setup. Trump went on to repeat long-debunked claims about trans women dominating women’s sports. Trump spoke of weightlifting competitions before seemingly admitting he prefers to save the subject of transgender rights as political fuel. “I don’t like talking about it because I want to save it for just before the next election.” Meanwhile, Trump openly floated the idea of expanding deportations to include U.S. citizens, saying he would like to send “homegrown criminals” to Bukele’s prisons.

Apr15: The Department of Health and Human Services, run by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has launched an online portal for “whistleblowers” reporting medical providers if they offer gender affirming treatment to trans people

Apr16: The UK is facing pressure from the US to repeal hate speech laws as part of negotiations for a trade deal with the US, which some argue could jeopardize protections for LGBT+ individuals.
