Afesotinuilar says, "Great t'be back, Head Shurator."

Shulamit holds up an archaic vibroshield for all to see, but especially the drone. "This rounded metal shield is covered in all matter of scars, scrapes, and dings from many years of active combat defense. Two loops chiseled into the back suggest this shield would be wielded on the arm and a small slot in the inner facade is the perfect shape for slotting a strangely humming blue crystal. A thin strip of woven plant fibers is attached to two points on its edge to string clear across the inside of the shield as some kind of sash."

Ahuli peers conspicuously about himself.

Afesotinuilar peers intently at Lupisentia.

Relkath tilts its head and utters a thoughtful, "Hrm."

Shulamit says, "Hoo, Lupisentia, I hoped you would join us! You exist."

Shulamit acknowledges the point with a grave nod of its head.

Relkath says to Shulamit, "I apologize if this is obvious, but where was this uncovered?"

Shulamit says, "Hoo hoo, we're all here!"

Lupisentia says, "Reporting for research!"

Afesotinuilar says, "Oh tha's a terrific question."

Ahuli nods.

Oipo tilts his head curiously.

Shulamit says to Relkath, "Oh yes. This vibroshield was unearthed on Gunurash! So ancient Krona design."

Poet says, "Yay research."

Comprehension flashes across Relkath's face.

Shulamit says, "As a vibroshield, it can take some damage, as you can see."

Afesotinuilar says to Shulamit, "Ye said it was from a specific locaiton though yeh? In th'highlands above Uryet."

Poet says to Shulamit, "I made us a table, if you think it'd be useful."

Shulamit taps it with a gauntleted tendril, causing it to spark slightly. "Okay, maybe a bit delicate."

Shulamit says, "Oh hoo."

Shulamit nods.

The corners of Ahuli's mouth turn up in a mischievous grin.

Afesotinuilar says, "Well, dang."

Shulamit carefully moves the vibroshield over to a table.

Shulamit says to Afesotinuilar, "Yes yes. In the...let me ponder."

Afesotinuilar says, "Loops, push m'chair over t'th'new table?"

Relkath says, "Kronan shield... Interesting. How many do you think they'd use? I wonder if some specialized in the shield and just used four at once."

With a roll of the eyes Lupisentia grabs a nearby chair and drags it loudly over towards the table.

Shulamit says, "Azme, yes. Old settlement, now abandoned."

Afesotinuilar claps his hands together merrily.

Svatlina scratches her head, looking for an idea.

Svatlina looks about herself, rubbing her chin thoughtfully.

Lupisentia says to Shulamit, "Have we already done any research on this type of object? A scan or a sampling of its surface material, for example?"

Afesotinuilar says, "Yer good t'an old man, thanks bunches."

Lupisentia chuckles a bit and pats Afesotinuilar on the back, peering over him to look at the item on the table.

Shulamit watches as a recording drone zooms around the room, the small thing struggling to capture so many people. "Hoo, maybe I should upgrade the drones when we expand the museum for the new wing."

Poet pokes at a paristeel lab table and various displays spring to life in the air above the table.

"Ooohhhhhhhhhh," says Lupisentia.

Svatlina says to Shulamit, "From engineering expertise, this one is very delicate to handle. Wire components were all succumbed to the ravages of time."

Shulamit says, "So the shield was found in the old settlement of Azme, on Gunurash. We didn't ask much about the shield when we took a field trip to ask...about the baby holder."

Lupisentia says to Poet, "A deceptively tactile and functional lab table you've got here, Poet. Did one of your Scatterbugs make this?"

Shulamit says to Svatlina, "Yes yes. I think the use of crystalline matrices helps!"

Poet says, "I made it. Or, well. Poetic Systems did."

Shulamit says, "Crystal can weather things a lot more."

Afesotinuilar says, "Is it still vibratin'?"

Lupisentia gives a 'No Canoodling' poster the once-over, eyeing it suspiciously.

Lupisentia nods her head at Afesotinuilar, showing her agreement.

Ahuli says to Shulamit, "Baby holder?"

Relkath directs some nanites to inspect the humming blue crystal, "Would this power disc?"

Lupisentia says to Afesotinuilar, "Seems we'd all be in a bit of danger if it was, wouldn't we?"

Shulamit says to Afesotinuilar, "It vibrates when shot, we found. Oh, baby holder, baby jail, cradle I think squishy called it."

Ahuli peers intently at Relkath.

Afesotinuilar says, "Us Nanoseers could try t'sap th'energy outta th'crystal so it's still."

Afesotinuilar says, "Might be more destructive than we want though."

Shulamit watches as the vibroshield hums at the nanites, gem crackling with ancient powder.

Afesotinuilar ponders the situation.

Shulamit coughs softly.

Lupisentia visibly stores something inside a box which looks surprisingly similar to a pipe bomb.

Svatlina ponders the situation.

Lupisentia says, "Ah yeah, bein' all delicate and such. Right."

Afesotinuilar grins mischievously at Lupisentia.

Oipo peers at the vibroshield, "I've done a dig at Golpur for fossils so I thought that might be helpful in the creatures that may need shielding from. But I've just found some sorta tree there, so that's not really useful."

Afesotinuilar says, "If we do a session where Lupi throws a bomb at it t'see if it deflects it, I -gotta- be there."

Ahuli raises his eyebrows at the gem's reaction.

Shulamit ponders the situation.

"Heh heh heh," Poet chuckles.

Acknowledging Oipo's point to be true, Shulamit nods its head gravely at him.

Relkath says, "I'd be hesitant to sap anything at this point. Can we demo it? Or is it likely too fragile given it's age? I'm curious the protection it'd offer."

"Heh heh heh," Lupisentia chuckles.

Svatlina ponders the situation.

Poet says, "Maybe we do that one outside somewhere."

Shulamit says to Oipo, "Yes, Gunurash requires much protection. The capital still has those walls."

Afesotinuilar snickers softly to himself.

Shulamit says to Relkath, "We can shoot it, it's survived before. It'll survive again."

"Ahah!" Relkath exclaims triumphantly.

Comprehension flashes across Lupisentia's face.

Oipo nods.

Afesotinuilar claps his hands together merrily.

Shulamit seems to believe that it will survive intact from a single shot.

Poet says, "I think we have to try to blow it up at some point though. For SCIENCE."

Relkath says to Lupisentia, "Would you mind shooting it?"

Afesotinuilar says, "I'll hold it, an'Loops can shoot me!"

Lupisentia raises her PIECE slowly with an inquisitive quirk of the brows.

Ahuli chuckles long and heartily.

Shulamit carefully sets up the shield, not allowing Afesotinuilar to hold it, instead placing it in a stand.

"Heh heh heh," Lupisentia chuckles.

Afesotinuilar makes grabby hands towards the shield from his high chair.

Shulamit then backs up several steps, to be nowhere near firing line.

Oipo quickly ducks down.

Relkath sends out a small cloud of nanites to watch from every angle.

Lupisentia raises the PIECE past her chin, then lowers it down to point directly at the shield.

Lupisentia says, "Last chance for everyone to duck into cover..."

Ahuli crawls under the table to watch.

The drone zooms around the room, trying to get a good angle at Lupisentia 's shot, making sure to stay near Shulamit as it does so.

Poet says, "Negate, check."

Svatlina ducks.

Poet nods.

From behind cover Lupisentia re-aligns and fires two quick blasts off at the shield.

Shulamit watches as the drone loses Lupisentia behind cover before it finds them again.

Afesotinuilar claps his hands over his hears with a wail as the shield rings out loudly.

Shulamit winces in pain.

Relkath turns its knotty face bump up and grimaces awfully.

Lupisentia says, "Ah, how's it lookin?"

Ahuli peers from behind a table leg.

Lupisentia rubs a small spot on her forehead with a woozy stance.

Shulamit slowly trundles over to the shield, looking it over slowly.

Shulamit says, "Hoo. It appears to have survived, the shielding flaring at the last second. So weak we couldn't see it in the moment."

Ahuli wipes the back of his hand across his brow in relief.

Comprehension flashes across Lupisentia's face.

Svatlina ponders the situation.

Shulamit says, "Although, it did take damage."

Afesotinuilar says, "Didn't like THAT thanks very much."

"Heh heh heh," Lupisentia chuckles at Afesotinuilar.

Lupisentia says, "Sorry Sot, y'know I'd never intend to harm ya!"

Oipo unducks peering about before straightening.

Afesotinuilar says, "Stupid Kronish vibrotech."

Shulamit shows off new cracks in the crystal and shield itself, thin lines. The antiquity appears fairly strong overall though, as if it could stand a few more shots, although a volley would certainly destroy it.

Relkath says, "To hold up after all this time, makes me wonder what they could withstand at time of construction. I've seen what Lupi's PIECE can do."

Shulamit says to Relkath, "Huuuuuuge bugs."

Afesotinuilar says, "Oh! Maybe that's it!"

Ahuli tilts his head curiously at Relkath.

Lupisentia says, "I wonder what'd happen if I punched it... think it'd shoot me across the room?"

The corners of Ahuli's mouth turn up in a mischievous grin.

Lupisentia flexes her knuckledusters with a mischievous grin.

Shulamit says, "Might throw your arm back, but probably not the entire you."

Shulamit ponders the situation.

Shulamit nods slowly.

Oipo blinks.

Svatlina ponders the situation.

Afesotinuilar says, "Stuff that's sensitive t'th'sound would shie away from the vibration."

Lupisentia says, "Seems only right we do some proper testing of the hypothesis, right?"

Relkath says, "I'm also curious about what would happen if it was used as a weapon, swing it AT someone."

Lupisentia gives Relkath a look of comprehension.

Afesotinuilar says, "I guess it goes 'bong'"

Poet tips her head, as the readouts above the table flicker with new data showing a minor power fluctuation in the shield which stabilizes after a moment.

Relkath says, "I can envision a Kronan ancestory wearing four of these for a formidable defense AND offense."

Afesotinuilar nods at Relkath.

Lupisentia stands up tall and gestures to Shulamit.

Shulamit says, "Hoo, the door to the museum proper only opens for Scatterhome citizens."

Lupisentia says, "I'm feelin' tough. Go ahead and swing it at me."

Afesotinuilar says, "I can imagine -Akmara- going nuts w'these."

Afesotinuilar darts up to hang in the air inside a fast vacsphere.

Shulamit says, "Hoo, me?"

Lupisentia nods her head slowly, looking very wise.

Lupisentia says, "I'm not sure Sot there could swing it high enough to avoid snappin' my knees."

Shulamit says, "I think someone else should, my tendrils are not very good at the swinging."

Lupisentia says to Afesotinuilar, "No offense, of course."

Svatlina says, "I'm wondering, what about kith reactions?"

Afesotinuilar moves his lips as if speaking inside the vacuum and makes a rude gesture at Lupisentia.

Ahuli blinks incredulously at Svatlina.

Shulamit says, "Oipo, Ahuli, Svatlina, Relkath?"

Ahuli nods at Shulamit.

Lupisentia looks at Afesotinuilar, attempting to stifle her amusement but laughing aloud anyway.

Ahuli says, "I could try."

Shulamit urges Ahuli onwards.

Lupisentia says to Svatlina, "That's another good thought, yes. Though I worry a potential kith rebound could ignite us all in a rather large fireball."

Comprehension flashes across Lupisentia's face.

Oipo says, "The vibro-part of the shield might mean it pushes piercing damage off centre, so blunt damage might not be impacted by the vibro-mechanism."

Svatlina ponders the situation.

Shulamit ponders the situation.

Relkath says to Lupisentia, "Void kith would more likely freeze you."

Shulamit nods slowly at Oipo.

Lupisentia says, "Aim for an arm, will ya? I'm used to them breakin'"

Svatlina slowly nods her head in agreement.

Shulamit stares at Lupisentia, tilts its head quizzically, rubs its chin thoughtfully, raises its eyebrow and says, "I see..."

Shulamit says, "Do not send you bracelets, I see."

Afesotinuilar begins to turn blue, waiting for the attack to conclude before lowering his vacsphere.

Svatlina says, "I guess it's pretty dangerous."

Afesotinuilar is forced to drop the protective silence of his vacsphere, and audibly gasps for breath.

Shulamit pats Afesotinuilar in a friendly manner.

Afesotinuilar says, "We not doin' th'bonking thiing?"

Shulamit says, "I think Ahuli is, but slowly! Takes time to ponder the shield."

Shulamit acknowledges the point with a grave nod of its head.

Lupisentia opens one eye to peer curiously about the room.

Ahuli crawls out from under the table and turns to face the shield. He crooks a finger in its direction in an attempt to frost it over.

Afesotinuilar says, "Well ye let me know, I ain't subjectin' m'self t'that frequency in a hurry."

Shulamit says to Ahuli, "Ah! We did not mean to hit it again. We wanted you to pick it up and smack Lupisentia with it."

Shulamit nods its head slowly, looking very wise.

Oipo ducks, out of an abundance of caution.

Afesotinuilar says, "Oh, I like that."

Svatlina carefully checks the status of the shield with her Automata toolkit in hand, then a red warning beeps signifying a failed attempt.

Shulamit's eyes bug out as it boggles in amazement.

Lupisentia raises an eyebrow questioningly.

Afesotinuilar breathes a sigh of relief as the frequency dims.

Relkath says, "Perhaps it really was specialized for physical defense. Those bugs might not be kith masters."

Relkath ponders the situation.

Svatlina ponders the situation.

Shulamit says, "Hoo, dangerous interactions possibly. We must be careful like in the future with this one."

Shulamit says to Relkath, "Bugs specialized in kith are very scary."

Afesotinuilar says, "Makes sense. If I think o'Kronish kithmasters, I think Fury before I think Seer."

Ahuli blinks at Shulamit. "Oops."

Relkath nods its head in agreement.

Lupisentia nods her head in agreement.

Ahuli says, "Do I still smash?"

Ahuli chuckles long and heartily.

Poet chuckles long and heartily.

Poet says, "Someone should."

Poet nods.

Oipo tilts his head curiously.

Shulamit says to Ahuli, "Please do. Although now it's quiet, it might just smack Lupisentia. We can accept this."

Lupisentia re-braces for impact, just in case. "Ahhh if y'want, but maybe give a heads up!"

Shulamit nods its head slowly, looking very wise.

Afesotinuilar says, "A curious bit 'protection."

Ahuli nods at Lupisentia.

Ahuli carefully picks up the shield.

Afesotinuilar says, "Oh, we smashin'? Lemme..."

Ahuli hands it over!

Relkath says, "No I want to see a krona perform some kith stances and movements with a shield like this."

Lupisentia eyes Afesotinuilar warily.

Afesotinuilar inhales deeply before a vacsphere blooms around him, protecting him from the sound.

Oipo tilts his head curiously at Ahuli.

Afesotinuilar shakes his head inside the sphere as his lips move. He hands the shield back to Ahuli.

Svatlina ponders the situation.

Lupisentia wipes the back of her hand across her brow in relief.

Comprehension flashes across Shulamit's face.

Shulamit watches as the shield clatters to the floor suddenly.

Shulamit says, "...hoo."

Poet says, "Whoops."

Shulamit says, "How about we smash next session."

Lupisentia flinches at the sound of the shield rolling about on the ground.

Shulamit picks the shield up, dusting the now worse for wear shield up, placing it back onto the table next to it's lock box.

Relkath nods.

Oipo nods at Shulamit.

Afesotinuilar looks down at the shield, than back at Shulamit, his lips moving soundlessly.

Lupisentia says to Afesotinuilar, "Oi, y'gotta drop the sphere, Sot."

Lupisentia says, "You're on mute."

Shulamit says, "I think we have done much to the shield this session! We have found out one new thing! It doesn't like kith. Er. Hoo. It doesn't protect against kith well!"

Shulamit nods its head slowly, looking very wise.

Relkath beckons Afesotinuilar to it.

Afesotinuilar makes a cupping gesture to one ear in Lupisentia's direction.

Svatlina nods.

Shulamit says, "Shall I put it away and we go have cookies in the gift shop?"

Relkath nods.

Poet says, "At least not the freezy kind of kith. We shall have to test something warm."

Acknowledging Poet's point to be true, Shulamit nods its head gravely at her.

Poet says, "Paskal-2491 has the colossal and restless abilities."

Shulamit says, "Next session as well. Heat and banging."

Poet nods.

Relkath says, "All I can picture now is a Krona wearing one on each arm, and cartwheeling through a hoard of giant bugs."

Poet says, "Tethan-2338 has the toxic ability."

Afesotinuilar drops the sphere with an audible intake of breath.

"Heh heh heh," Lupisentia chuckles.

Afesotinuilar says, "We still... not?"

Svatlina's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.

Poet says, "We have decided to wait."

Shulamit carefully packs away the vibroshield back into a museum display box, putting it up on the shelves for the time being to be placed out on display in the future.
