- In this minor scene, Uri is shown to be recruiting for both his guild and Osilot, looking to better the potential within two lads he has met this day, also serving as a remedy to ease his mind from his recent concerns of the King and the coming war. But, Uri did not want to see such wasted potential on the battlefield constantly when they could be searching for the hidden widsoms of the world. And thus he took both Atilus and Elijah as Path Seekers for his crew, putting them through their first trial out of five. But, the two nearly had a dangerous run in with a jester and some group that lives underground within the sewers of Osrona... Just as Uri and Esbern was about to conduct a search, a miracle happened, the two recruits made it out alive. A great day to take his mind off things and display his concern, his care for the youth that will be apart of Osilot one day... Through guiding those around him Uri hopes to find the potential of himself deep within, so that he could enter battle without any regrets. Near the end, they enter a group meeting speaking of the settlement to be, and their concerns for the coming war and the questionable decisions of their King.
- [21:41] Uri turns to Atilus.. "Welcome, to the Soaring Phoenix, our little Path Seeker," he gave the new lad a welcome, and even turned to Elijah... "The both of you will enjoy, or might even hate the ride, due to us always traveling about... I wish to eventually hear from you, your goals...Because, the final trial is the specialty test..."
- He thought, it wouldn't be a bad time to try the Negotiation test...
- "Actually...Come with me..."
- (Uri Sanctum)
- [21:41] Uri Sanctum says, "Both of you, this will be brief..."
- [21:41] Elijah Azar exclaims, "Yes sir!"
- [21:41] Patting Armondt rather forcefully on the back! Arch was practically beaming with pride, all the while-.. reaching for his holster?! "Now..."
- "GET A MOVE ON AND DELIVER THAT LETTER!
- The Head Courier swiftly leveled the weapon with Armondt's feet before firing of a volley of shots. All to motivate the courier? How thoughtful.
- (Arch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:42] Atilus tips his head to Esbern to follow Uri.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:42] Elijah pat Thorns head.
- (Elijah Azar)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:42] Elijah Azar says, "Take care, don't get in trouble."
- [21:42] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "If it's the first test, I can't leave the city."
- [21:42] Thorn says, "Elly."
- [21:42] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "Or rather... I refuse to."
- [21:42] Uri waits for Thorn to say what she needed to Eli.
- (Uri Sanctum)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:43] Elijah waved back!
- (Elijah Azar)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:43] Atilus briefly glances at his old house in the slums.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:43] Elijah still lives in the slums.
- (Elijah Azar)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:43] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "...oh gods no."
- [21:43] Uri Sanctum says, "Alright..."
- [21:44] Uri Sanctum says, "Oh yes..."
- [21:44] Elijah Azar exclaims, "...Yay!"
- [21:44] Elijah Azar says, "...Aw shit..."
- [21:44] Uri Sanctum says, "You remember our ventures Esbern..."
- [21:44] Uri Sanctum says, "With the giant rat and all..."
- [21:44] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "I also remember being stuck down there for a week."
- [21:44] Elijah Azar says, "."
- [21:44] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "...and the smell."
- [21:44] Uri Sanctum says, "A test you passed..."
- [21:44] Uri Sanctum says, "Now then..."
- [21:44] Atilus Rosier says, "The sewers ser? "
- [21:46] Atilus remembers venturing through to collect materials during the war between Theria and Osrona. He shivers a tad from the thought of the rats again.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:47] Elijah smiled, he wondered what kind of test this would be...
- (Elijah Azar)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:47] Uri points down into the sewers... "Yes, the sewers... It is a maze down there, and this alone is part of your...Navigations test, for you must find your way out, not through this same hole, but through the exit part of it which lies on the other side of the Kingdom..."
- He looks to Esbern'o… "He's been down there for the longest... So, that's a record I do not want you to beat... I want you to escape as soon as you can and uhm…. One last thing..."
- Uri folds his arms, "Say you run into a Giant beast while you're down there... Might be best to stick together, till you find your way out.."
- He took out a pocket watch...
- "Esbern, you know where the exit drain is right? I'll be there, to greet them on the other side, want to come with?"
- "As for you two... You time to navigate your way through starts now, on my watch... You have a day."
- Which is 1 ooc hour.
- (Uri Sanctum)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:50] Esbern feels himself frowning eternally, but he can't help but let out a light chuckle, if only to see others suffer as he and Uri had.
- "Alright, Uri, I'll come with you. Let's see how much fortitude the new recruits have, eh?", he says with a grin.
- "Good luck Atilus", he says, giving him a meaningful look in an effort to express his high hopes, before turning to Elijah and saying; "Good luck, Elijah."
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:50] Atilus nods his eyes ablaze with confidence.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:53] Elijah also nodded, and rolled his sleeves up. "Alrighty then! Let's do this, Atilus! See ya guys on the other side!" And then without further or do, he jumped down, bringing Atilus along with him.
- (Elijah Azar)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [21:53] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "...let's head to the other entrance, lest they beat us to it and make fools of us"
- [21:54] Uri Sanctum exclaims, "Phew!"
- [21:54] Uri Sanctum says, "Looks like we made it."
- [21:54] Uri Sanctum says, "Let's hope they don't get too lost."
- [21:59] Uri would squat down by the exit, looking over at the exit point... "If they're lucky, they might run into a monster down there... From what I remember, the sewers is a dark, mysterious place... Not only does it test their navigation skills but also their bravery, for entering the unknown," said the Captain.
- (Uri Sanctum)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:01] "The giant rat? Before I was captured, I hadn't heard any news of it for years. Someone must've dealt with it", he comments.
- The hints of the stench coming up from the sewer were already enough for Esbern - he did not want to experience anything like that again.
- "Still, a skilled navigator would be good - Miura's forté is definitely not that, after all"
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:05] Uri chuckles lightly. "Well, he is more of a fighter than anything, but still, it's their spirits I'm after if anything... Hopefully, these kids will have just that... And from what I can see, they sure do have the drive, but how far will that take them?"
- He tosses a rock down the drain opening, "And as for the rat, I heard someone captured it yes.. But I like to hope that there's another one, another challenge to test my flames against... Been a while since I fought serious and at full power, not since my student Caila left."
- (Uri Sanctum)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:05] Esbern's face wrinkles. "Caila? The self-proclaimed dragonlord, one of theria's leaders? You know she works with Sythaerin, right?", he comments.
- He'd forgotten just how much information he'd been privy to in myllenoris that those in Osrona wouldn't be, but it was jarring to see how loose loyalties were here.
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:10] Marzius Volgin says, "You should be more careful."
- [22:10] Marzius Volgin says, "Not everyday there's people collecting the corpses you guys let go down there."
- [22:10] Uri Sanctum says, "----"
- [22:10] Uri Sanctum asks, "Who are you mate?"
- [22:10] Marzius Volgin says, "Resident of the sewer. Just tried to help the two lost guys over there, but they're uh."
- [22:10] Marzius Volgin says, "Probably going to step into the wrong part of town, if you get what I mean."
- [22:10] Marzius Volgin says, "If you get what I mean meaning- They don't take assistance and are lost."
- [22:11] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "Righ'"
- [22:11] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "Well, they've still got... twenty or thirty minutes"
- [22:11] Esbern Tyr Antioch exclaims, "..and hello again!"
- [22:11] Esbern grins and his eyes light up as he recognises the man.
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:12] Marzius Volgin says, "Well, good luck! And hello again, sir."
- [22:12] Marzius Volgin says, "Long time since I last saw you. I thinl."
- [22:12] Uri Sanctum says, "Hm.."
- [22:12] Marzius Volgin says, "Think! Think."
- [22:12] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "A month or so, back in myllenoris."
- [22:12] Uri Sanctum says, "It's a little navigation test."
- [22:12] Marzius Volgin asks, "Oh. You were released, or did you flee?"
- [22:12] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "I was a prisoner there for a year and a half, but was recently freed."
- [22:12] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "Released, thankfully."
- [22:13] Marzius Volgin asks, "Terrifying. Say, what happens if they fail?"
- [22:13] Esbern looks over to Uri.
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:13] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "I guess they get a different test."
- [22:13] Marzius Volgin says, "Then just pass them straight away."
- [22:14] Uri Sanctum says, "Slightly different."
- [22:14] Uri Sanctum says, "Mmm.."
- [22:14] Uri Sanctum says, "They'll learn."
- [22:14] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "Well, this one is for navigation. It'd just prove they aren't capable navigators."
- [22:14] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "There are other roles, after all."
- [22:14] Marzius Volgin says, "That, or that they met the wrong person down there."
- [22:14] Uri Sanctum says, "They still have the negotiation test as well."
- [22:14] Esbern Tyr Antioch asks, "How many 'wrong people' down there would you say there are?"
- [22:14] Uri Sanctum says, "-----"
- [22:14] Marzius Volgin says, "Uuh."
- [22:16] Marzius looks over to Esbern. He blinks, and then shrugs. "It's the sewers. The place is filled with rats, and then there's the underlady."
- "I'd be more afraid of the fact that if she finds them? You won't be seeing the bodies anytime soon. She devoured like, an entire pack of rats whole. And no one really got even to scratch her skin without her shrugging it off."
- He lets out a brief chuckle, and then looks down the drain. "Oh, boy. They did go that way."
- (Marzius Volgin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:17] Esbern scratches his chin. Rats were nothing, but an underlady? Sounds like... someone who'd have a bounty on them.
- "Well, if this underlady's head is worth something, then their test may just be even more worthwhile than we expected, eh, Uri?", he says with a confident grin.
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:20] Uri would rub his chin. "Yes, but at the same time, they are our responsibility... tell ye what, if they aren't out soon, when the timer ends... Then we'll go and look for them... "
- Clearly, they were not very good if they failed the test, but, even Esbern'o was stuck for a week or so under the surface, deprived of sunlight whilst, there was actually a civilization down there it seems, more than what he remembers.
- (Uri Sanctum)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:20] Elijah Azar says, "Huff... Huff... Huff...."
- [22:20] Uri Sanctum exclaims, "Oh!"
- [22:20] Uri Sanctum says, "Looks like we don't have to go find them after all."
- [22:20] Atilus rubs his head... It had been a while since he had ventured through the sewers.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:21] Elijah Azar says, "We... We did it..."
- [22:21] Atilus Rosier says, "Memory seems to not have served me too well this day ser. Fortunately tenacity wins in the end."
- [22:22] Marzius Volgin says, "You just kept to a wall and came here. I did the same path in half the time."
- [22:22] Atilus turns to the jester and bows his head lightly.
- "Forgive our rudeness earlier ser, twas a right of passage, to solicit your assistance was implied to be forbidden."
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:25] Uri stood up with his arms folded. Giving the two a hearty laugh, "Ahaha, I see you didn't run into any trouble whilst you were down there! Good job! You both survived a potential threat and successfully navigated your way out of the sewers from start to finish!"
- The Captain made his announcement, walking over to pat them both on the shoulders. "Congratulations, you passed the very first test to earning your promotions as a pirate within the guild.. Now, onto the next test, this one actually, might be a little tricky or the easiest test in your life, depending on what you do with it..."
- He looks to Marzius, "First, I must thank you sir, for your aid in this... Had you not tell me and my Vice Wing here about the situation, we might've ran into a major misunderstanding!"
- (Uri Sanctum)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:27] Esbern has his arms crossed, and gives an appreciative nod to the two that just exited the sewers.
- "Good work, you two.", he says shortly in a partly authoritative, part warm tone.
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:27] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "...also, privateers, Uri, please. I can't be known as a pirate."
- [22:28] Uri Sanctum says, "I enjoy the reactions at times."
- [22:30] "Eh, it could be worse! You shouldn't turn out a stranger's help." Of course, he did try to spook them occasionally. What was the fun if he didn't? It was their fault for walking into his house like that.
- And for missing the right exit. "You should also be careful with the cultists. They walked right into their spot- But luckily, none of them were around." Well, he was there to make sure they'd come out okay, or to at least record the story!
- "You should come around and actually meet the Underlady someday, though."
- (Marzius Volgin)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:34] Atilus was used to shady characters and those with strange attunements to the occult.
- "I agree, however a stranger's aid is not always as it appears no?" Atilus smiled at the jester.
- "We are not so dainty, to be felled by cloaked daggers in the dark. Though your Underlady seems a character of interest."
- Atilus jots down a note in his journal.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:40] Elijah wiped the sweat off his forehead, and nodded. "Yeah, well, I was against havin' the guy help us but... Sorry about that, Jester sir."
- He dusted himself off and stretched. "Yup. We just bolted the rest of the way, and I put my nose into overdrive. And this underlady… Sounds weird."
- (Elijah Azar)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:41] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "Oh, so the underlady is worth meeting? I thought she was another one of the hunts, by the way you described her."
- [22:41] Atilus Rosier says, "Such fasinating titles this land has."
- [22:41] Uri Sanctum says, "Alright, let's head back to the market, our meeting will begin soon."
- [22:41] Atilus continues jotting notes in his journal.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:42] Esbern Tyr Antioch exclaims, "Farewell!"
- [22:42] Uri Sanctum says, "Take care guy."
- [22:42] Elijah Azar says, "See ya Jester."
- [22:45] Uri Sanctum says, "Well... Alright..Raisa, follow along if you're done."
- [22:45] Esbern stares at the food on the ground. House Salis was being associated with floor jerky.
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:45] Raisa Amor says, "Sure, sure."
- [22:46] Uri Sanctum says, "Sorry to cut it short."
- [22:46] Raisa Amor says, "It's not a problem, I was more-so just tossing in opinions idly."
- [22:48] Esbern Tyr Antioch says, "Should've had the meeting at Artisan's Guild, there's more space."
- [22:48] Elijah just started to idly eat one of his crystals.
- (Elijah Azar)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:49] Uri Sanctum says, "Well, this came to mind... Been the most recent place for meetings."
- [22:49] Raisa Amor says, "It's got enough seats."
- [22:49] Raisa Amor says, "And if that changes, I'll just take a stand."
- [22:51] Atilus retrieves herbs and wild flowers from his bag, delicately plucking the leaves and petals from them. He placed the ingredients into wooden goblets pouring cool water over the mixtures.
- Steam begins to rise from the cups as Atilus places them out onto the table for company.
- "Tea sers?" He asked with a bright smile on his face.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:51] Esbern shakes his head, his habit of not drinking anything anyone else offers him still ever present.
- "No thank you, Atilus.", he says plainly.
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:51] Uri would have first greeted Xyth, "Hey there old friend... Sorry to intrude so suddenly, been giving exams of entry to our newest crew mates... Elijah and Atilus, both of which had just passed the Navigations test, finding their way in and out of the labyrinth like sewers..."
- He takes up the offer of tea, "Of course, I'd be delighted for some," he would turn to Esbern and the others...
- "First and foremost, we are here to inform everyone of our goals as a crew and the goal we will support our dear friend in, Xyth and his finding of the settlement Osilot, and most importantly... How we will grasp it," said the Captain.
- (Uri Sanctum)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [22:57] Xyth waved off Uri when he brought up apologizing for the intrusion, but he didn't mind it really.
- "No worries Uri, though hearing that you gained more Crewmates sounds nice. Though for those who don't know, Im Xyth.
- When it comes down to the settlement, me and Uri are constantly at a stalemate with the King of Osrona. Anytime I speak with him, he wishes for the city to become that of a Vassal State for the reason of a mutual defend with one another.
- The city itself shouldn't be linked up too much to one side to not promote favoritism. Though, the entire city plan was to be that of a dream to most, making our laws and conditions to be based around the people and keeping them our of war unless we ourselves are attacked. Though being a Vassal state puts a target on our back. Even if the League does or doesn't know of us, doesn't matter since its either friend or foe to 4hm,no friendliness is required from them."
- (Xyth)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:01] Atilus sips his tea while waiting for his turn to speak and ask questions.
- He is surprised at how many people he knew at the table.
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:01] Esbern squints at xyth, finding something odd about the entire scenario.
- "Why're you discussing it with the king if you don't want to be a vassal state, then?", he queries.
- "If independence is what you want, just set up independently", he adds on, leaning back in the chair slightly.
- (Esbern Tyr Antioch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:02] "It should be completely neutral, free from political obligations and free to reside peacefully without the threat of impending war or wars. The problem lays in the fact that by refusing to be a vassal settlement you'll be targeted by Osrona more than likely. If neutrality is to be maintained you'll need to somehow deter Osrona from seeking out an attack on this would-be settlement when Osrona regains its strength.
- And doing that may be easier said than done without some serious preparation."
- She didn't provide any solutions, opting instead to lay out the problems that were present with what she had heard regarding the situation as a whole. To grant solutions was not really her style, preferring to lay things out and make suggestions so that a conclusion is made that's agreed upon by the majority as opposed to a singular voice deciding for everyone present.
- She's never been one for singular rulership anyway. Complete neutrality was easier said than done and the Kitsune knew this all too well.
- (Raisa Amor)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:03] Atilus chimes in with his question.
- "How large is this settlement ser for it to be able to resist Osrona?"
- (Atilus Rosier)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:05] Raisa Amor says, "- As an aside, nothing says you really - need - an established settlement..."
- [23:05] Raisa Amor says, "You could simply band everyone together who wishes to be neutral and drift wherever there's work and food to be had. Like a roaming band of migrants living off the land and making the best out of mutual protection by numbers."
- [23:08] He nods his head to this...
- "The only issue is that Esshar itself wants us to pick a side, and that's where things become complicated...We don't want to pick a side.. Hell, even offered to settle on Los'tal but that might be an issue with a number of bandits who could be lurking there..."
- He then looks to Xyth, "Luckily, we won't go without a plan to make sure that a 'draft' won't happen and that we eventually break from Vassalship and become our own settlement..."
- (Uri Sanctum)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:21] Xyth sighed for a moment, taking the time to reply to everyone's questions.
- "When it comes down to the fact of being a Vassal State or not, its more so on the fact of not if Osrona would attack, but for what reason. I have tried to talk to the king in a few ways on why he shouldn't bother with attacking the settlement. Not to mention Uri is his childhood friend, so he knows full well that I have no 'devious' plans or anything of the sort.
- On the matter of how large the settlement was suppose to be. I have about Twenty Magi who are willing to move into the settlement. A few most noteable people are Thalis, Bo, and Lady Elora. Not to mention we have a ship already to set sail to any destination that we need. I wanted to get one closest to the water to ensure that the city has shipments for supplies like stone, metals, food, and other acute goods. Though on the matter of picking a side, I wanted Osilot to remain neutral with all cities. Even those of Lionheart and Illburg. Though Ilburg fought for their land and won. I don't want to fight with bloodshed.
- The king wants us to be a Vassal state so that he can request help from us during wars. Though I essentially told him that if that were the take we would only help on a Defending side of the war. If Osrona fought against another city offensively I wouldn't raise a finger.
- Uri came up with the idea of having the city be a Vassal State for a few years before breaking off in that of a Treaty, but giving the king power to draft citizens is basically false hope.
- Not to mention, If I plan to put this settlement anywhere on the map, I would need the King's permission even though he himself is backed into a corner. He made his bed."
- (Xyth)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:27] Uri nods his head to this.
- "I figured, it would be a good use of insurance in the events that we actually needed to be vassals...And it seems that Esshar wants to enforce just that... It's a conflict of interest..."
- He looks to Raisa, "I want for you and the others to move there but, in order to do so.. We have to succeed in being neutral first, yes?"
- He stands up from the table, "I'll be in my study for now... Please, pass on the information to me, if any plans of ours happens to change.."
- He bows his head in a fashion where he's slowly cast his arms out aside from his hips. A gentlemens bow, "Take care everyone, and good night."
- (Uri Sanctum)
