  1. I joined IFunny in the fall of 2013, and I used it to just find some funny stuff, some of it I shared with friends, some of it I saved to laugh at later. In 2014, around August, I got involved in one of the largest fan communities that was on the app at the time, the FNAF community. I followed along with this, most of us laughed at updates, we didn’t think just saying ‘nigger’ was funny, but if you didn’t know you could post actual Porn back then, the posts were just automatically locked for

  3. only your followers to view. Around the time the second game came out I was using the app less, the communities were still great, there was even a FNAF feature which made everyone happy. It was a nicer place back then, only a few trolls trying to annoy you by saying your fandom was shit. But yes, shortly after the second game, I think even before the teasing of the third game, I left the app. I returned last year. 2017, after some on and off with the app every now and then, and it has gotten so

  5. much worse in that time, you no longer have those wholesome communities that just want to talk about their game, share theories and strategies. No, now you have the Political side of Ifunny, the NATSOCS who think they’re always right, the Incels who hate women, the fact you can barely have an opinion, or even say something without getting in an argument, and there really is no more friendly debate, only some somewhat friendly discussion. It is getting worse with the mods banning anyone they

  7. disagree with, and memes have become universal, there isn’t much more ‘in joking’ since it’s pretty well understood based purely off the memes, it’s just the same memes with copying and pasting the figures of your community on them. The app that was meant to be funny has turned into a meme itself, it’s a bog standard cut and paste of other meme sites, but it’s memes are the same. The whole ‘meme economy’ is true, we burn through the original ideas fast, and since everyone wants to post memes,

  9. There is less and less originality, all the normal concepts of the meme have been done, even if you think you did it first. People always accuse you of stealing their meme, and there is no three ways about it, either you admit you stole it or you don’t, and both will lose you public opinion. Comedy used to be trying to actually make people laugh, make them smile, make them feel good. Now it’s just calling the owner of the app a nigger and copy pasting memes into comments. What happened, Ifunny.
