- GENERAL QUESTIONS / OPERATING MENUS
- >Where do I get the game?
- 32bit (buggy)
- 64bit (stable)
- >Can I run this?
- If you're not using a computer made to run windows 0.9 then you should be just fine. Works on the toastiest of toasters.
- >Whats the difference between this and Retail version?
- The physics are slightly off
- Single Player mode is not available * though you can play alone in multiplayer mode
- Yoko, Simon, and Getsu Fuhma are not available
- Chapters 9, 10, and 11 are not available
- New characters are Albus (OoE) and Axe Armor
- New chapters 12 (based on SotN) and 13 (Based on OoE)
- >When do we run?
- We start roughly 10-11PM EST and end 3-4AM EST
- >How does hosting work?
- Peer 2 Peer
- >I can't find the game
- Be sure you set your server settings to US WEST in the options menu
- >My Controller won't work
- Make sure only one controller is plugged in THEN make sure your system recognizes that controller is the only one active.
- >How do I set a username?
- From the main menu > Howtoplay&Options > Settings > Others > Online Name
- >My FPS drops to -3 after awhile
- Regrettably this is a known bug that is believed to have something to do with damage numbers lingering in the game's memory for too long. It is ideal to close and reopen the game after 2 or 3 runs as a group. This bug does not seem to appear while playing alone.
- >I have the server set to US and still can't find you guys
- There are two possibilities.
- 1. The game is full. We'll usually lose a couple folks in between chapters for resets. No one holds a grudge over a lost spot.
- 2. The host disconnected for whatever reason and you've found yourself in the roughly 1 minute gap in between someone making a new lobby. Sit tight and keep looking or follow the thread's tags and make a lobby yourself.
- >How do I hear english voices/see english callouts ingame?
- Hold F/R2/Right Trigger when selecting your character's color.
- >My menu resets to JP whenever I go to the main menu
- You will need to change the language in the settings rather than the main menu's change to make it stick
- >Callouts are just a white box
- You will need to alter the windows in which they appear.
- From the main menu > Howtoplay&Options > settings > windows
- From there, fiddle with the colors to make the insides any color other than white.
- GAMEPLAY / GEAR / CHARACTERS
- >How do I level a character?
- Depending on the character, you will either need to rank up the weapons by hitting things with them or rank them up by collecting more copies.
- Leveled by hits:
- Vampire Killer
- Doves
- Agartha
- Axe Armor's Axe
- All Subweapons for Julius, Richter, Johnathan and Axe Armor
- Shanoa's glyph spells
- Maria's guardian animals
- Leveled by Copies:
- Shanoa's Weapon Glyphs
- Charlotte's Book Weapons
- Charlotte's Spells
- Alucard's Spells
- Soma's Soul Spells
- >How do I get loot
- https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uzK9BLoBpNHp0kpstrwvwPX_DoADGZO3J9aNJGadJGo/edit#gid=844279947
- Food drops from brown chests.
- Blue chests drop life water exclusively (Until a single player mode is put in. When it is, Blue chests will have the same as green chests.)
- Red Chests will only drop money.
- Mediocre loot will drop from green chests.
- Moderately useful loot and skills will drop from Purple Chests
- The best loot comes from Gold Chests from bosses.
- >What do that stats mean?
- Attack is your base attack plus whatever your weapon and equipment provide.
- Defense is your physical damage reduction. This includes contact damage.
- STR increases the damage of non-weapon and non-subweapon attacks. It also SLIGHTLY increases base physical damage but only at higher values is this notice-able.
- CON will reduce the knockback and hitstun caused by damage.
- INT increases your subweapon and spell damage.
- MND increases your magic defense.
- LCK increases your chance to crit slightly, your chance of getting item drops from monsters, and improved the chances of getting rare loot from chests.
- >I can't equip weapons onto *X*
- Characters are restricted to certain weapons without glitching. The same applies to certain pieces of armor
- >I can't use any of the skills in the skill list
- You will have to acquire them ingame to be able to use them. They will usually come from purple chests.
- >How do I make money
- You have two options
- 1. Cheat because this game has no cheat protection
- 2. Run expert chapter 7 constantly and pray for miser ring duplicates. They sell for a million each.
- >My mp isn't regenerating
- Same deal as the fps bug, reset your game
- >I'm a skeleton how do I turn back
- Another player has to throw a life water at you. Life water comes from blue chests and only LIVE PLAYERS can throw them. If you die with one or pick up one as a skeleton you're screwing everyone over. Welcome to the bonezone.
- >Can I get more loot faster?
- By playing with two or more people you can time opening chests to get multiple drops out of the same chest. This works for gold chests at the end of the stage but coordinating more than 2 people for it is rather difficult.
- >How can I increase my chances for rare loot?
- Get yourself plenty of +luck gear and then find some Thief Rings. Thief rings boost the chances of finding rare and super rare items and increase in effectiveness the higher the difficulty is.
- >Holy fuck legend is hard as shit
- But it also gives the +1 gear which have huge bonuses over the normal counterparts
- >When am I ready to move up from normal?
- When you find or buy a full set of armor and weapons from normal mode you could feasibly move up to hard as long as you hit about 30 per hit with your choice of weapon. If you use a character with a weapon that levels up, level 5 is ideal but do keep in mind that your weapon will level faster by playing higher difficulties. It might be worthwhile to grind up your weapon on legend for awhile on some enemies that either can't reach you or don't actually attack.
- >I pressed a button near a teammate and I posed and stood still
- You unwittingly attempted a dual item crash. You need 50 mp to initiate and it performs a powerful attack that has high damage potential if you can actually hit a boss with it. Most dual crashes are really only effective on large and/or flying bosses like puppet master or 3rd form Dracula. There is also a bug with Maria where you can't stop the initiation animation without someone actually dual crashing with you.
- >Chapter 3 boss is bullshit
- There are things you can do to help in the fight if you don't have lots of ranged attacks or high mp regen. Firstly you can go to the top of the stage and use the level to smack the boss in his face for a shit load of damage and knock him down so the players at the bottom can wail on him for a bit without having to worry about being stepped on. You can wind up the hammer again by going into the room toward the right of the lever and smacking the gears til it locks back in place. Second, you can dive kick off the boss' foot to give you the height you need to smack his knees. This is usually pretty dangerous and not worthwhile for non melee characters. Third, if you do have some ranged attacks or are playing a strictly ranged character, you can line yourself up with his head or chest weakpoint and lay into him. Albus, Shanoa (ice), Charlotte, Jonathan (daggers), Soma, and any belmont (daggers) have a ranged attack that can make the difference. It is recommended that you invest heavily in mp regen and int if you need to use subweapons to reach the weak spots.
