See I don't even know what you're talking about with the Hound/Cat/Marshal stuff, it was that long ago and if I did something bad no one told me that was a bad thing. I just remember I had alot of paranoia against Pillowsalt because he was actively meta gaming against my players
I feel no one wanted to tell me I was doing bad things so I don't learn and straighten up so I'll keep doing bad things so they can sabotage me.

Then why does the entire group seem to believe Marshal is a paramilitary freedom fighter organization with political goals?
Why was being 'the law' in the under city ever on the table as an option?
Why was the Junk Hound troll toll attacked when no one paid Marshal to do it?

Because people stretch out things and don't bother looking for the truth. Marshal attacked the troll toll because it was retaliation at that time Hounds were attacking our people and prevented our people going between base and colony. We were 'the law' in the Undercity because we were bored at the time and needed stuff to do.
Tsume was the one that wanted to attack the troll toll and lead the attack. And I even decided to give up and pull out from the UC.

And why were hounds fighting Marshal? Because Marshal agreed to a defensive pact with the cats, someone leaked the GL chat, and war 'started' .. that the cats then backed out of.
Why would Marshal not stop it immediately? It's expensive and bad for business.

WHen the cats backed down we made no actions we were confused on what was going on. Yeah we had people barking they wanted the war but I didn't dive into it. But it was around this time both of us were being bullied and attacked by hounds and then there was PIllowsalt which didn't make matters easier. We were being pushed around and it's not good for player morale if we let people push us around and not fight back.
I admit the whole incident was a mess. On everyone's part.
Even still that was so so very long ago, many months back

Tsume also marketed it as the toll was bad for business. It c ost money to go through that toll, and operatives needed ease of access.
But wouldn'tcha know that the freedom fighter / independent faction attitude instilled in the rank and file meant they didn't give a shit about the cost
They wanted revenge only.

I never instilled any freedom fighter attitudes, anarchist sure because I had to appeal to both 'lawful' and 'criminal' players, but I still maintained that we were a job group. When another group murders one of our own for no reason, people are gonna want revenge no matter what.
I was actually against the people that kept saying Marshal should be a faction for the longest of times. I only reconsidered like a month and wanted to go for the faction angle, talked to melna, got denied and I quickly gave up that route

Honestly, this will only continue, it's been a thing since before I even became the GL. Like I said I was against Marshal being a faction angle since I joined. Eventually I shrugged and asked melna to give people what they wanted, after I was denied I figured people would think "Well the GL finally ask Melna and got denied, people would stop."

Some people prioritized the job over their faction because they just felt Marshal was more fun that's what people are after. I actually felt there were ALOT more people who were loyal to their faction than their job which is understandable

Even if it was a bad idea, Tsume never told me, no one ever did.
Imagine how broken trust would get if we allowed a Marshal pursue a bounty on another Marshal.

If Marshal is hired to engage with a faction, any marshal folk in that faction are not permitted to defend.

During the whole Junkhound fiasco, one of our commanders and head of armory is a Junkhound.
But let's say it is true that I won't promote people in certain factions. How come it's alright for CSEC to prevent any of their members from joining Marshal? Is it because CSEC is a faction and not a job?
I understand a ruling has been made, but it was never communicated to me so that I could change.
