  1. A newbie so bare with me
  2.
  3. I can't enter mariadb at all and I've tried multiple solutions for this in google but I can't seem to make it work. Thing is, most of those are when there's a socket detected, in my case, I write a 'find / -type s" and I get no results for the socket in question. Also checked the 'my.cnf' file and the path locations point to '/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' as well
  4. Below is what happens when i'm trying to configure mariadb
  5.
  6. -----------------------------
  7.
  8. [sudo] password for #######:
  9.
  10. NOTE: RUNNING ALL PARTS OF THIS SCRIPT IS RECOMMENDED FOR ALL MariaDB
  11. SERVERS IN PRODUCTION USE! PLEASE READ EACH STEP CAREFULLY!
  12.
  13. In order to log into MariaDB to secure it, we'll need the current
  14. password for the root user. If you've just installed MariaDB, and
  15. you haven't set the root password yet, the password will be blank,
  16. so you should just press enter here.
  17.
  18. Enter current password for root (enter for none):
  19. ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2 "No such file or directory")
  20.
