- A newbie so bare with me
- I can't enter mariadb at all and I've tried multiple solutions for this in google but I can't seem to make it work. Thing is, most of those are when there's a socket detected, in my case, I write a 'find / -type s" and I get no results for the socket in question. Also checked the 'my.cnf' file and the path locations point to '/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' as well
- Below is what happens when i'm trying to configure mariadb
- -----------------------------
- [sudo] password for #######:
- NOTE: RUNNING ALL PARTS OF THIS SCRIPT IS RECOMMENDED FOR ALL MariaDB
- SERVERS IN PRODUCTION USE! PLEASE READ EACH STEP CAREFULLY!
- In order to log into MariaDB to secure it, we'll need the current
- password for the root user. If you've just installed MariaDB, and
- you haven't set the root password yet, the password will be blank,
- so you should just press enter here.
- Enter current password for root (enter for none):
- ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2 "No such file or directory")
