  1. Hello my Social Media Group Friends:
  2.
  3. I have put together a few ideas that I believe will help organize the Group and help us move forward into the next phase. By splitting up into various groups we can specialize our efforts and move toward being a more productive group.
  4.
  5.
  6. WORKING GROUPS
  7.
  8. Occupy Working Group: This groups will determine how Occupy Social Media can support Occupy camps throughout the State, and implement pertinent plans .
  9.
  10. Government Working Group: This group will monitor our politicians and government agencies. Report findings and suggested actions to the OSM group. The Government Working group might be split into Federal and State teams. We are all responsible for holding our local politicians accountable and reporting findings and suggested actions to the OSM group.
  11.
  12. DNC Working group: This group will monitor, report, and suggest direct actions to the OSM group regarding The Democratic National Convention.
  13.
  14.
  15.
  16. RESEARCH GROUPS
  17.
  18. Small groups of 2-5 ppl who are internet proficient, can research a specific social media outlets, as well as be willing to teach others. These groups will design and implement various strategies to promote the Occupy Movement.
  19.
  20.
  21. DECENTRALIZE
  22.
  23. This is perhaps the most important of my proposals. I propose each member, or small group of members, start their own group (FB, Twitter, in your garage, at school, whatever...). Occupy Social Media Group, as a whole, will support and assist fellow member groups in any way possible. This will give us a broad range of topics and increase ways to grow the OSM Group and support OWS.
  24.
  25.
  26.
  27. The Occupy Social Media Group can take these findings and suggestions made by our members and decide, if and how, we should support them. We should not limit ourselves to supporting just members of our group. If someone in our group finds a protest or group the Occupy Social Media might want to support, that person can suggest that action.
  28.
  29. As always these are my opinions and discussion is welcome.
  30.
  31. Due to a family engagement I will not be attending the meeting on Dec. 20 in Raleigh. It was my original plan to make these proposals this at the meeting, since that is impossible, I have posted this now with the hope of it being brought up at the meeting.
  32.
  33. Take Care,
  34. @OCCUPYNC77
