The Speedrun Top 100!

This is a challenge to play through the 100 most popular SNES games in the speedrunning community! I've been wanting to do a non-speedrun challenge for some time now, and had been eyeing the idea of a NESMania-type game gauntlet. But I wanted something that was a bit more personal, and one which involved much fewer terrible games, so I came up with the idea of playing the 100 highest-rated SNES games. With that idea came a problem, though: how would I find a good ranking for a bunch of games I mostly haven't played?

At first I checked a bunch of SNES top game lists, but they were all over the place quality-wise, and I wanted to avoid the bias of the top search results that would show through even if I averaged them out a bit. While searching for top SNES rankings, though, I came across a post that compiled the top downloads for the console from a ROM site, which was a much more interesting and complete way of ranking games. Unfortunately, it also had a few problems regarding general quality, but it gave me a good idea: what if I used popularity based on a community I trust to have much better taste? (most of the time lmao)

So this top 100 list is based on SRC player count! There's a bit of curation, though: I removed alternate versions of the same game, games with no actual end sequence, and anything that was trivially easy to complete. For games that were multi-platform on release/not originally a SNES game, only the SNES runners were counted.

Game choices will be raffled to subs or randomized from viewer choices depending on activity, and anybody who subs can also choose an extra game to add to a bonus list ❀

1. Rock n' Roll Racing - Veteran difficulty in 6:13:xx
	Definitely fun, good challenge, but a bit repetitive. Follin doing actual song covers was really neat to hear.
2. Dragon Quest 3 - 37:55:29
	Phenomenal game. Why have I been sleeping on the Dragon Quest series so hard? I might be hooked now lol
3. Aladdin - 1:09:30
	I had never come across this game at all as a kid, but it was a fun little romp. Can see why it's a solid speedrun.
4. Star Fox - 2:21:41
	Fairly tough, but I clutched out a victory on the last possible life, narrowly avoiding a third attempt.
	This game has a lot of good ideas hidden under frustrating limitations due to the time period. Fun, but I don't know how much I'd
	want to see the harder difficulties.
5. Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon R - 3:40:46
	Shoutouts to Jupiter. More frustrating than I expected, but it was alright. Desperately needs a run function.
6. U.N. Squadron - 9:59:21
	Harder than anything I've played so far in the challenge, but immensely satisfying to improve at over the few days I was
	playing. Easily among the best on the SNES—both the game and the soundtrack.
