- As soon as I awoke I new I was different, there wasn't anyone like me, I am Yew. I felt the sun creep
- upon my back bringing it's warmth and nutrients, I let out a yawn and begin stomping my way through
- the forest until I came upon a raccoon that began to speak to me. “Ahh, watch where you're going!”, he
- yells in fright of being stepped on. “I am yew.” I say in a solemn tone to which he replies, “I've never
- met a tree that can walk let alone one that could speak, i'm Rooket.”. “I am Yew” I reply. “Yea, yea I
- know you've told me already is that all you can say!?” he replies hastily. “I am Yew.”, I reply nervously.
- “Well you have quite the colorful vocabulary, quite the conversation starter.” he says sarcasticly.
- “Would you mind if I climb on your shoulders for a better view?”, says Rooket. “I am Yew” I reply.
- “Oh yea, forgot about that, well I'll take that as a yes, it's okay if it's consensual!” says Rooket happily.
- I feel his tiny claws crawling up my leg onto my shoulder and laugh a little as it tickles quite a bit.
- As we are stomping throughout the forest, I come upon a old man with quite the peculiar hat and robe.
- “Ah haha, I haven't seen a walking tree in ages, I'm Greydolf the Gand I am a wizard you see.” he
- continues, “ I know this might sound weird, but I am in need of a new staff as I misplaced my old one.”
- I scratch my head curiously wondering what he's on about.
- “I'd like if I could perhaps take part of your arm to use as a staff.”, asks Greydolf the Gand.
- “Why would you want to cut off his arm, are you insane!?”, says Rooket in my defense.
- “I am Yew” I say nervously. “I'm not quite sure what you mean by that, but I'll respect your wishes and
- not take your arm, have a nice day then.” Greydolf the Gand says dissapointed, but before he left
- wanted to shake hands with me and when he did I felt a sharp pain in my arm but I couldn't locate the
- precise area. It was getting darker and I decided to take a bit of a rest to gain energy for the next day
- but as night fell, a small circle on my arm with a weird pattern started to glow on my arm.
- “I don't think that's supposed to be happening.” says Rooket nervously. I hear a scuffle of footsteps in
- the distance and I try to locate them and I feel Rooket climb to the top of my head quickly, looking for
- the location of the sound. Suddenly I am knocked over by a strong force and they quickly tie my legs to
- the ground by putting stakes through my legs and tying them down with strong rope.
- “We are sorry to do this” says one of the tiny men, “Yea, we are indeed very sorry” chimes in another
- tiny man. “Greydolf the Gand really needed a new staff and your arm is perfect for it!” said what
- seemed to be the leader of the tiny men.
- “Now you just wait a minute!” screams Rooket. “How would you like it if I came to you while you
- were sleeping and just cut off your arm and said I did it because some old man that claims to be a
- wizard asked me to.”
- “I suppose I wouldn't like that very much.” says the leader of the tiny men.” , I try to struggle against
- the stakes but the pain is too much to bear with, “I am Yew” I scream loudly. “By the gods, he is one of
- their kind!”, says the leader of the tiny men in astonishment. “We must take him to see the others!” ,
- says another tiny man.
- “The others?”, says Rooket curiously. “There is a group of walking and talking trees in our forests that
- look similar to your friend here--.” “I am Yew” I interrupt with excitement. The tiny men start to untie
- me and when they pull the stakes out of my legs I feel instant relief and I stand up and look at the group
- of tiny men around me . “We are dwarfs.” they say, as they can tell I'm curious as to why they're so
- small. “We understand what it's like not having others like yourself, there are no other living dwarfs
- besides what you see here, we will make for the others by daybreak.” says the leader of the dwarfs.
- I feel the sunrise and awake the others, “I am Yew” I say happily, the others yawn and groan at being
- awoken so early. After some time we make for the trail and at last, I come across a vast forest and the
- dwarven men stop and the leader looks at me smiling and says “Go on, walk into the forest.”
- I nervously walk into the forest fearing for a trap but to my astonishment I hear a loud rumble and
- shaking of the ground. “I am Yew!” I say as I see the trees around me move, and come to life before my
- tree eyes. “We are Yew” says the group of trees.
