  1.
  2. As soon as I awoke I new I was different, there wasn't anyone like me, I am Yew. I felt the sun creep
  3. upon my back bringing it's warmth and nutrients, I let out a yawn and begin stomping my way through
  4. the forest until I came upon a raccoon that began to speak to me. “Ahh, watch where you're going!”, he
  5. yells in fright of being stepped on. “I am yew.” I say in a solemn tone to which he replies, “I've never
  6. met a tree that can walk let alone one that could speak, i'm Rooket.”. “I am Yew” I reply. “Yea, yea I
  7. know you've told me already is that all you can say!?” he replies hastily. “I am Yew.”, I reply nervously.
  8. “Well you have quite the colorful vocabulary, quite the conversation starter.” he says sarcasticly.
  9. “Would you mind if I climb on your shoulders for a better view?”, says Rooket. “I am Yew” I reply.
  10. “Oh yea, forgot about that, well I'll take that as a yes, it's okay if it's consensual!” says Rooket happily.
  11. I feel his tiny claws crawling up my leg onto my shoulder and laugh a little as it tickles quite a bit.
  12. As we are stomping throughout the forest, I come upon a old man with quite the peculiar hat and robe.
  13. “Ah haha, I haven't seen a walking tree in ages, I'm Greydolf the Gand I am a wizard you see.” he
  14. continues, “ I know this might sound weird, but I am in need of a new staff as I misplaced my old one.”
  15. I scratch my head curiously wondering what he's on about.
  16. “I'd like if I could perhaps take part of your arm to use as a staff.”, asks Greydolf the Gand.
  17. “Why would you want to cut off his arm, are you insane!?”, says Rooket in my defense.
  18. “I am Yew” I say nervously. “I'm not quite sure what you mean by that, but I'll respect your wishes and
  19. not take your arm, have a nice day then.” Greydolf the Gand says dissapointed, but before he left
  20. wanted to shake hands with me and when he did I felt a sharp pain in my arm but I couldn't locate the
  21. precise area. It was getting darker and I decided to take a bit of a rest to gain energy for the next day
  22. but as night fell, a small circle on my arm with a weird pattern started to glow on my arm.
  23. “I don't think that's supposed to be happening.” says Rooket nervously. I hear a scuffle of footsteps in
  24. the distance and I try to locate them and I feel Rooket climb to the top of my head quickly, looking for
  25. the location of the sound. Suddenly I am knocked over by a strong force and they quickly tie my legs to
  26. the ground by putting stakes through my legs and tying them down with strong rope.
  27. “We are sorry to do this” says one of the tiny men, “Yea, we are indeed very sorry” chimes in another
  28. tiny man. “Greydolf the Gand really needed a new staff and your arm is perfect for it!” said what
  29. seemed to be the leader of the tiny men.
  30. “Now you just wait a minute!” screams Rooket. “How would you like it if I came to you while you
  31. were sleeping and just cut off your arm and said I did it because some old man that claims to be a
  32. wizard asked me to.”
  33. “I suppose I wouldn't like that very much.” says the leader of the tiny men.” , I try to struggle against
  34. the stakes but the pain is too much to bear with, “I am Yew” I scream loudly. “By the gods, he is one of
  35. their kind!”, says the leader of the tiny men in astonishment. “We must take him to see the others!” ,
  36. says another tiny man.
  37. “The others?”, says Rooket curiously. “There is a group of walking and talking trees in our forests that
  38. look similar to your friend here--.” “I am Yew” I interrupt with excitement. The tiny men start to untie
  39. me and when they pull the stakes out of my legs I feel instant relief and I stand up and look at the group
  40. of tiny men around me . “We are dwarfs.” they say, as they can tell I'm curious as to why they're so
  41. small. “We understand what it's like not having others like yourself, there are no other living dwarfs
  42. besides what you see here, we will make for the others by daybreak.” says the leader of the dwarfs.
  43. I feel the sunrise and awake the others, “I am Yew” I say happily, the others yawn and groan at being
  44. awoken so early. After some time we make for the trail and at last, I come across a vast forest and the
  45. dwarven men stop and the leader looks at me smiling and says “Go on, walk into the forest.”
  46. I nervously walk into the forest fearing for a trap but to my astonishment I hear a loud rumble and
  47. shaking of the ground. “I am Yew!” I say as I see the trees around me move, and come to life before my
  48. tree eyes. “We are Yew” says the group of trees.
