It was 9:00 am on a cloudy Saturday, and Gene had already leapt over two logs, vaulting over a third.

He knew it had something to do with the bright flash of green he saw in his mind’s eye. One didn’t just go from walking to their job in the bustling city to the depths of green flora in an instant. That bright green… he hadn’t imagined it, it just came out of nowhere, without warning, and now he was running in the forest.

He heard a howl, before the sound of rustling and broken branches followed it.
Running from a wolf. Years of study and researched reminded him from the back of his mind that wolves were harmless for the most part, that they did not hunt humans, that they feared humans. Gene ignored it, all he knew was that there were a wolf chasing after him, and he wasn’t eager to stand around and wait to see what it did to him.

Luckily, he had ignored the dress code given to him today and wore his outdoorsy running shoes. Sure, it made running all the more easier, but he was still growing tired, the sounds of rustling growing closer and closer. Mysterious sudden transportation or not, he was still human and couldn’t outrun a wolf at close distance like this.
