  1. Is there a way to remove the option to "safely remove" USB flash and media cards?
  2.
  3. It has caused nothing but problems on recent distros, even on different machines, especially for internal media card readers.
  4.
  5. It powers off the device, so that you cannot mount any more cards until you reboot. So not even the kernel nor udev comes into play after you use "safely remove".
  6.
  7. So I was wondering if there's a wayto get rid of this context menu in GNOME 2.30. "Umount" was plenty good enough. "Safely remove" doesn't add any benefit and it causes issues with internal media card readers.
