戦争を仕掛けてくるとなると厄介だ。
地球にはアルドノアドライブがないからね」
Banjo: At any rate, we’ll be in trouble if Vers intends to fight us in earnest now. Earth has no Aldnoah Drives to make use of.

Beauty: Banjo! We found a message Lieutenant Marito left behind!

Yuki: I knew it, the Lieutenant really did leave us a message...!

Yagarai: Yes, I was the one who found it.

Yuki: You, Doctor?

やっていましたから…どこにどうやって
メッセージを残すか、見当が付きますので」
Yagarai: I was his physician and his counselor, you see. I had a pretty good idea of where and how he’d leave a message behind.

Calm: So, where was it at?

Inko: What’s more important is what the message said.

Daisuke: What did it say, Doctor?

「大尉たちは強襲揚陸艦わだつみに乗り、
まずは浜松を目指すとのことです」
Yagarai: The Lieutenant and the others boarded the amphibious assault ship Wadatsumi, and are making Hamamatsu their first destination.

Nina: That’s kind of far...

「行くのに時間が掛かるな…」
Calm: It’ll take us a while to get there...

「ダイファイターで全速飛行すれば、そうでもないが…
目立つからヴァースの手先と接触する可能性が高い」
Banjo: If we fly at full speed on the Daifighter it wouldn’t, but... We’d stand out, and more than likely end up running into Vers minions.

「とはいえ、早く行かないと
わだつみが浜松を離れてしまうのでは?」
Daisuke: Then if we don’t leave soon, will the Wadatsumi leave Hamamatsu?

「それは、その艦が無事に
辿り着いていたらの話でしょ」
Rayet: That’s assuming the ship made it there in one piece to begin with.

Calm: Don’t say that, you’re gonna jinx us.

「希望的観測だけで動きたくないのよ」
Rayet: I’d just rather not take action based on wishful thinking.

「気持ちはわかるが、浜松へ行こう。
揚陸艦は、今の僕らにとって貴重な足場となる」
Banjo: I know how you feel, but we should still go to Hamamatsu. Right now, a landing craft would be invaluable to us as a base.

Beauty: And if it’s a battleship, it’s sure to have a bed and a bath.

Reika: You shouldn’t expect too much from a military ship’s accommodations.

Cruhteo: However, he could not have left the castle just yet. Once he is found, he will be executed on the spot.

アルドノアの研究について問い質したいことがある。
生きたまま捕らえてくれぬか」
Saazbaum: That boy is the son of Dr. Troyard... I would like to interrogate him about his Aldnoah research. Might I trouble you to take him alive?

あの者がどこへ行くつもりか知りたい」
Saazbaum: Should he notice he is being pursued, he may deem to change his destination. I would like to know where he intends to go.

Cruhteo: For what purpose?

「貴公は何故、あの者が謁見の間を使ったと思われる?
もしスパイであれば、仲間がいるであろう」
Saazbaum: Have you considered why he sought to use the audience chamber? If he is a spy, he will no doubt have cohorts.

Cruhteo: Hm... Then we shall allow him to fly freely for the time being. Once we can ascertain his likely destination, I will send Trillram there to lie in waiting.

アルドノアって、どんな物なんですか?」
Inaho: Before that, there’s something I’d like for you to tell me. What exactly is Aldnoah?

あなた方が火星と呼ぶ惑星の古代遺跡で見つかった
超文明のテクノロジー…」
Seylum: It’s technology that was found in ancient ruins on Vers... The planet your people call Mars. The legacy of an ancient, highly advanced civilization.

「それに初めて接触し、目覚めさせた地球人が
レイレガリア・ヴァース・レイヴァース博士…
私のおじい様、現ヴァース皇帝です」
Seylum: The first Terran to make contact and awaken it was Dr. Rayregalia Vers Rayvers... My grandfather, and current Emperor of Vers.

「遥かなる時を経て起動したアルドノアは、
おじい様を正統な後継者と認識し、
起動因子を遺伝子に焼きこんだのです」
Seylum: Upon being activated after a considerably long time, Aldnoah recognized my grandfather as its rightful inheritor, and wrote the activation factor for it into his very genes.

Inaho: Which means...

セラム
「はい、生まれながらにアルドノアを起動できるのは
おじい様とその子孫だけ…」
Seylum: Yes, the only ones with the innate ability to activate Aldnoah are my grandfather and his descendants...

「おじい様は、騎士たちに主従の契りを交わすことで
アルドノアとその起動因子を貸し与えました」
Seylum: In exchange for pledges of fealty from his knights, he gave them Aldnoah, along with its activation factor.

「騎士たちはその力を利用して、
強大な城と[カタフラクト]を作り.…
植民地を統治しました」
Seylum: The knights used that power to build grand castles and [Kataphraktos], and to rule over the colonies.

「そして、荒れ果てた火星の大地を開拓した者が
次に求めたのが…地球です」
Seylum: And having settled the barren wastelands of Mars, they next set their sights...on Earth.

「光を屈折し、海と空が青く見える程の
たくさんの水と空気を持つ
私たち人類発祥の地…」
Seylum: The birthplace of mankind, a land possessing water and air in such abundance that they refract light, turning the sea and sky blue.

「それは違います」
Inaho: That isn’t right.

セラム
「え?」
Seylum: Huh?

伊奈帆
「空が青いのは屈折じゃなく、レイリー散乱の影響です」
Inaho: The sky isn’t blue because of refraction; it’s caused by Rayleigh scattering.

セラム
「でも、光の屈折だとスレインが…」
Seylum: But, Slaine said the refraction of light...

伊奈帆
「空が青いのはレイリー散乱、
雲が白いのはミー散乱…その人の勘違いです」
Inaho: The sky is blue because of Rayleigh scattering, and the clouds are white because of Mie scattering. Your friend was mistaken.

Seylum: ...

(Seylum is pouting. There’s a unique expression for this one scene.)

Eddelrittuo: Princess, it’s nearly time to depart... Oh.

Eddelrittuo: What are you doing with the Princess...!?

「いいのです、エデルリッジ。参りましょう」
Seylum: Its fine, Eddelrittuo. Let us go.

Magbaredge: Then we’ve evaded them for the time being.

「だが、島影に隠れていたおかげで
だいぶ時間を食っちまった」
Marito: But thanks to that, we’ve wasted a lot of time hiding in the shadow of the island.

「あの円盤が何者なのか、未だに不明…
孤立無援の状態で、戦闘は可能な限り回避すべきです」
Magbaredge: We still don’t know anything about those flying saucers... That’s why we should avoid fighting them while isolated as much as possible.

連絡は取れないのか?」
Marito: I get that, but what about Hamamatsu? Have we still not been able to reach them?

「相変わらずジャミングがひどく、
遠距離通信は不可能です」
Mizusaki: The jamming is still too disruptive, making long distance communication impossible.

「あのじじいの映像は、延々と流されてるってのに…」
Marito: Meanwhile they just have that old guy’s recording playing on loop forever...

「ともかく、急いで浜松へ向かいましょう」
Magbaredge: At any rate, we will depart for Hamamatsu posthaste.

(そこに敵がいたら、俺は…)

(Scene starts at Hamamatsu. UE Soldiers are battling Trillram in their Aeirons.)

「これ以上、あの火星カタフラクトを接近させるな!
撃て、撃てぇ!!」
Union Soldier: Don’t let the Martian Kataphrakt get any closer! Fire, fire!!

(The soldiers fire on Trillram, to no effect.)

トリルラン
「ふん、[アルドノア]を持たぬ雑魚どもが」
Trillram: Hmph, more small fries that lack [Aldnoah].

連合軍兵
「こ、攻撃が効いていない!!」
Union Soldier 2: O-Our attacks aren’t having any effect!

(Trillram moves to the soldiers.)

トリルラン
「奴らが来るまでの時間潰しにはなったが…」
Trillram: You were a convenient means to waste time until they arrived, buuut...

連合軍兵
「う、うわあああ!!」
Union Soldier 3: W-WAAAAH!!

トリルラン
「もういい。死ね」
Trillram: I tire of this. Die.

(Trillram destroys all of the Aeirons.)

トリルラン
(さて…)
Trillram: (And now...)

(Banjo, Inaho, Heero, Eunice, Duke, and the armored car appear.)

トリルラン
「来たか。ザーツバルム様からの情報通りだな」
Trillram: They’re here. It’s just as Lord Saazbaum said.

デューク
「一足遅かったか…!」
Duke: We were too late...!

カーム
「あいつ、リベンジしに来やがったのか!?」
Calm: Is that guy here for revenge!?

万丈
「僕らは全速力で飛んで来たからね。
行き先を読まれると思っていたが…」
Banjo: We flew here as fast as we could. I considered they may read or movements, but even so...

万丈
「浜松に到着するまでの間、
ヴァースが仕掛けてこなかった点は
腑に落ちないな」
Banjo: It doesn’t make sense that Vers would be able to beat us to Hamamatsu.

伊奈帆
「もしかして、わざとここに来させようとした…?」
Inaho: Maybe they intended for us to come here to begin with...?

万丈
「その可能性は高い。
理由は不明だが、奴の目的は変わらないだろう」
Banjo: There’s a good chance of that. But whatever the reason, their objective won’t have changed.

「でも、あの火星カタフラクトの攻略方法は
もうわかってますよ!」
Eunice: Luckily, we already know how to beat that Martian Kataphrakt!

万丈
(さて、同じ手が通用するかな)
Banjo: (Well, we’ll have to see if the same method still works.)

トリルラン
「前回は不覚を取ったが…
奴らを近づけず、隙を見せねば良い。
鷹の目も倍以上用意してある」
Trillram: I was defeated last time... But if I don’t let them draw near, they won’t be able to see the chink in my armor. And I’ve prepared twice as many eyes in the sky to keep watch of them.

トリルラン
「さらに…!」
Trillram: Furthermore...!

(Benmel and several Aiais appear.)

ベンメル
「トリルラン、連中のメカは吾輩がもらい受けるぞ」
Benmel: I’ll be taking their mechas for myself, Trillram.

トリルラン
「構わんが、役目を忘れるな」
Trillram: That doesn’t concern me, so long as you fulfill your role.

ベンメル
「わかっておる。
なんなら、吾輩が連中を皆殺しにしてやるわ」
Benmel: I know. If I have to, I’ll slaughter them all myself.

トリルラン
(スレインがここへ来る前に
アセイラム姫と破嵐万丈を始末できれば、
それに越したことはないが…)
Trillram: (Now if I can dispose of Princess Asseylum and Banjo Haran before Slaine arrives, all will be well...)

ビューティ
「ちょっと!
あのメカフェチまで現れたわよ!」
Beauty: Hang on! The guy with the mecha fetish just showed up!

万丈
「なるほど、ベンメルで僕らの足を止める気か」
Banjo: I see, so Benmel hopes to put an end to us here as well.

ユニス
「あの火星カタフラクトへ接近させないために…!?」
Eunice: Is he here to keep us from getting to close to that Martian Kataphrakt...!?

万丈
「だけど、脆い盾だ。
ダイターンとグレンダイザーで火星カタフラクトに
肉弾戦を挑み、ひっくり返そう」
Banjo: If so, he’s chosen a poor shield. Daitarn and Grendizer will take on the Martian Kataphrakt and turn this situation around on him.

伊奈帆
「それだと少なからずダメージを受けますし、
挟み撃ちになる可能性もあります」
Inaho: That would result in considerable damage being taken, and could potentially lead to a pincer attack.

万丈
「なら、どうする?」
Banjo: Then what do you recommend?

伊奈帆
「前回と同じ手…
あいつのバリアの隙間を狙います」
Inaho: Same plan as before... We target the gap in his barrier.

万丈
「しかし、それは奴も…」
Banjo: But things are different for him this time...

伊奈帆
「今回はこちら側の条件が違いますよ。
…ヒイロ、ウイングガンダムゼロのライフルを
最大出力で撃った場合、威力は?」
Inaho: The condition of our side is different as well. ...Heero, how powerful is Wing Gundam Zero’s rifle when fired at maximum output?

「一撃でスペースコロニーを破壊できる」
Heero: One shot can destroy a space colony.

「マ、マジかよ!?」
Calm: It can do WHAT!?

「じゃあ…」
Inaho: Then...

ヒイロ
「…お前が考えていることは実行可能だ」
Heero: ...Your plan can be executed.

伊奈帆
「射程と命中精度もクリアだね。
そして、ウイングガンダムゼロの運動性能なら…」
Inaho: Range and accuracy won’t be a problem. And considering Wing Gundam Zero’s mobility...

万丈
「すぐさま奴の背後に回って、撃てるわけか」
Banjo: So we just need Heero to circle around him as fast as possible, and fire.

伊奈帆
「そのチャンスを得るために、
ベンメルの動きを止める必要があります」
Inaho: And to have a chance at that, we need to stop Benmel in his tracks.

万丈
「わかった」
Banjo: Understood.

伊奈帆
「ヒイロ、狙撃ポイントのデータを転送する。
僕が指示したら、撃ってくれ」
Inaho: Heero, I’ll forward the data on the sniping point to you. Then just fire when I give the order.

ヒイロ
「了解した」
Heero: Roger.

万丈
「じゃあ、みんな! 作戦開始だ!」
Banjo: Alright, everyone! Commence operation!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(This line triggers if anyone attacks Trillram.)

トリルラン
「隙さえ見せねば、貴様らの攻撃など効かぬ!」
Trillram: If you can’t find my weak spot, your attacks won’t so much as scratch me!

(This exchange triggers if Heero battles Benmel.)

ベンメル
「おお、見れば見るほど美しい…!
何としても入手し、吾輩のコレクションに
加えてやるわ!」
Benmel: Ah, the more I look, the more beautiful it appears...! I have to add it to my collection, no matter what!

ヒイロ
「お前の趣味に付き合う気はない」
Heero: I don’t  approve of your hobby.

(This exchange triggers if Banjo battles Benmel.)

ベンメル
「今度こそダイターン3を吾輩の物にしてくれるわ!
新顔のメカもな!」
Benmel: This time, Daitarn 3 will be mine! And the new mecha as well!

万丈
(その様子じゃ、火星カタフラクトとの連携は
推して知るべしだな)
Banjo: (It couldn’t be any more obvious why he’s working with that Martian Kataphrakt.)

(Battle 1 ends when Benmel is defeated.)

「ぬうう、まだ勝負はついておらんぞ!」
Benmel: Ngh, the fight isn’t over yet!

トリルラン
「ベンメルめ、自分の役目を理解しているのか!?」
Trillram: Benmel, do you not realize what you’re here for!?

「今だ…!」
Inaho: Now...!

「ベンメル、何をしている! 奴らを引きつけろ!」
Trillram: Benmel, what are you doing!? Lure them away from me!

「ええい、わかっておるわ!」
Benmel: Agh, I know, I know!

Inaho: Heero.

「ああ」
Heero: Right.

(Heero moves behind Trillram.)

トリルラン
「な、何!?速い!!」
Trillram: Wh-What!? He got behind me!!

ヒイロ
「背後を取ったぞ」
Heero: Your back is wide open.

トリルラン
「!!」
Trillram: !!

(Heero uses Twin Buster Rifle Maximum Output against Trillram. A battle animation begins.)

「目標確認、任務を遂行する」
Heero: Target confirmed. Executing mission.

ヒイロ
「ターゲット・ロックオン…」
Heero: Target locked on...

ヒイロ
「攻撃開始!」
Heero: Commencing attack!

トリルラン
「ぐぬううう! 貴様らなんぞに!」
Trillram: Gwaaagh! You cur...!

ヒイロ
「任務完了…!」
Heero: Mission complete...!

(The battle animation ends. Trillram receives significant damage.)

トリルラン
「うぐうっ! なっ、何という威力…!!」
Trillram: Ugggh! H-How is it that strong...!?

伊奈帆
(狙撃ポイントを教える必要はなかったな)
Inaho: (In hindsight, I probably didn’t need to set a sniping point for him.)

トリルラン
「ま、またしてもバリアが! おのれええええ!!」
Trillram: Th-They got through my barrier again! You MISREABLE WRETCH!

(ウイングガンダムゼロのライフルの威力は、
僕も聞いて驚いたけど…)
Inaho: (I was surprised when I heard how powerful Wing Gundam Zero’s rifle was, but...)

伊奈帆
(あれに耐えたのはさすがだな。
アルドノアの成せる業か)
Inaho: (It’s also impressive that he withstood it. Aldnoahs are really quite resilient.)

万丈
「うまくいったな、伊奈帆」
Banjo: Well done, Inaho.

伊奈帆
「ヒイロとウイングガンダムゼロのおかげです」
Inaho: It was all thanks to Heero and his Wing Gundam Zero.

トリルラン
「な、何者なのだ、あの翼付きは!?」
Trillram: J-Just who—what is that winged machine!?

万丈
「これであの火星カタフラクトに
ダメージを与えられる。
みんな、一気に勝負を決めるぞ!」
Banjo: Now we can deal damage to the Martian Kataphrakt. Everyone, let’s finish this in one fell swoop!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(This exchange triggers if Inaho battles Trillram.)

「威力はともかく、ウイングガンダムゼロの
翼とライフルの形状を見れば、運動性と射程、
命中精度に優れた機体だと予測できる」
Inaho: Power aside, you can judge by Wing Gundam Zero’s wings and rifle that it’s a machine with excellent maneuverability, range, and accuracy.

「なのに、警戒が足りなかったな」
Inaho: And yet you underestimated it anyways.

トリルラン
「オレンジ色め!
バリアが不安定でも、地球のカタフラクトごときに
後れは取らんぞ!」
Trillram: Orange bastard! Even if my barrier is unstable, I won’t let a Terran Kataphrakt surpass me!

(This exchange triggers when Benmel is defeated.)

ベンメル
「ええい、またしても…!
じゃが、吾輩は諦めんぞ!」
Benmel: Agh, not again...! But I still won’t give up!

ベンメル
「手に入りにくい物こそ、
コレクションに加えた時の喜びが増すからな!」
Benmel: You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find things I love to add to my collection!

(Benmel leaves the map.)

They were first developed by the Vers Empire, when reforming planetary work robots into weapons.
There is a great difference in performance between Earth’s and Mars’s Kataphraktos, due to Martian Kataphraktos being equipped with Aldnoah Drives, which enables just 1 machine to be powerful enough to sway the flow of battle.
