  4.
  5. Blessed tidings Olethea, Euphony of the dark heart
  6.
  7. I wish you well, dear, as I find myself scribing this letter; this early
  8. mid-spring dawn. The Mistress's blessed garden, Her Glomdoring, grows
  9. from unexpected changes in the wake of Gurashi's departure. Her
  10. creations, the spiders, whisper your name within the seething shadows
  11. that surround me. Their crawling susurrations, from the canopy of the
  12. forest, draw my attention forth; towards you.
  13.
  14. Rarely have I seen such signs in my wanderings and invite you to join me
  15. in deciphering their words. If you seek the rose within the garden,
  16. reach out to me and we shall unveil your place within Her grand design.
  17.
  18. Shadows guide you
  19. -Her Spinner of Webs, Afollia Ebonrose
  20.
  21. =========================================================================
  22.
  23. Your soft voice reaches out to Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner, tickling their ear, "I
  24. received your letter.... I'm uncertain what to make of the spiders myself."
  25.
  26. Afollia tells you, "Well dear, if you have the time - perhaps we can discuss the matter a bit ?"
  27.
  28. Your soft voice reaches out to Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner, tickling their ear, "I
  29. am somewhat... in an out attentively, but I can certainly make time. A Manse may be best, though."
  30.
  31. Your soft voice reaches out to Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner, tickling their ear, "You
  32. are welcome in mine."
  33.
  34. Afollia tells you, "Certainly dear, there is no rush, would a bit of a later time this month be
  35. preferrable for stability of the spirit ?"
  36.
  37. Your soft voice reaches out to Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner, tickling their ear,
  38. "Honestly, the company will probably do me good. I haven't been in the best way. My manse is called
  39. 'Immolation', and I'll be just north of the portal room."
  40.
  41. Afollia tells you, "Your delightful manse it is then, I do look forward to being introduced to your
  42. work."
  43.
  44. Your soft voice reaches out to Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner, tickling their ear, "At
  45. your leisure; I am at home."
  46.
  47. Your soft voice reaches out to Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner, tickling their ear, "All
  48. of the Glomdoring can enter from our Aetherplex."
  49.
  50. You tilt your head back and look up at the sky.
  51.
  52. You say, "I wonder why the spiders..."
  53.
  54. A black widow spider with deformed skeletal wings scuttles in sideways from the south.
  55.
  56. Afollia's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.
  57.
  58. You get up off a lushly-cushioned backless chair.
  59.
  60. You curtsey gracefully before Afollia.
  61.
  62. The caw of a reclusive crow draws your attention toward Afollia, who whispers a barely audible
  63. prayer. She lays a palm on her heart, invoking an intoxicating scent of roses that suffuses your
  64. surroundings.
  65.
  66. You sit yourself down on a lushly-cushioned backless chair and make yourself comfortable.
  67.
  68. Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner says, "Blessings on you dear, thank you for taking a
  69. moment to assist me."
  70.
  71. You say, "I am happy to, though I confess I am as bewildered as you are...."
  72.
  73. You frown and say, "I am part of the Predator's Pack, and while I'm very aware of His link to Your
  74. Lady, I am uncertain why She would single me out, personally...."
  75.
  76. Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner says, "Quite so, while I normally tend to the young
  77. ones; rarely am I graced with their words."
  78.
  79. Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner says, "If you'll allow me, may I sit ? I would be
  80. delighted to discuss."
  81.
  82. You have emoted: Olethea toys with Tribal Prayer Beads of the Predator as she speaks, nervously
  83. twining them around her fingers.
  84.
  85. You say, "Please do, yes."
  86.
  87. You say, "Welcome to my garden, I suppose."
  88.
  89. Afollia features etch in a pleasant smile, dusting off her heeled shoes upon the doorstep for a
  90. moment, she seats herself in one of your lushly cushioned chairs.
  91.
  92. Afollia sits herself down on a lushly-cushioned backless chair and makes herself comfortable.
  93.
  94. Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner says, "One thing that I was rather puzzled about, can
  95. you think of any ripples in your life that may have extended to Her blessed web?"
  96.
  97. You crease your brow in a frown.
  98.
  99. You say, "After everything with..... Fang Xenthos' child."
  100.
  101. Afollia inclines her head politely in remembrance.
  102.
  103. You say, "I went and prayed to Her, to apologise for misjudging Her, for thinking Her actions
  104. unwarranted."
  105.
  106. You run a hand through your cascading, fiery red curls, stroking the tresses and tucking a lock back
  107. into place.
  108.
  109. You ask, "Accompanied by an offering of all the Gorgons I held. But nothing since...?"
  110.
  111. Afollia cerulean eyes gaze into yours, taking a measure of your truth. Voice lifting gently in your
  112. surroundings she speaks "That would explain much dear, She was very disappointed by the bumblebee's
  113. choices. She had grand designs for him and to see Her kindness thrown aside...I am certain you can
  114. understand what I wish to express dear."
  115.
  116. ===[[ Not even a little ]]===
  117.
  118. Very quietly, you say, "I hate them."
  119.
  120. Afollia gently folds her hands upon her waist. Gazing with a certain sadness in her eyes "I do hope
  121. you'll forgive me for asking, were you both close?"
  122.
  123. You have emoted: Olethea is silent for a time, her gaze shifting away from Afollia towards the
  124. garden itself, and the many unsourcable sounds of life therein. She nods, after a moment. "I had
  125. feelings for them."
  126.
  127. Afollia closes her eyes quietly, her fingers gripping the chair as a moment of silence stretches.
  128.
  129. Afollia's voice raises but a whisper upon the wind "I shan't ask none further of your feelings,
  130. thank you for sharing."
  131.
  132. Afollia lips part in a soft sigh before she continues " I am very much reflecting on the whispers of
  133. the spiders, they are very much Her children...an extension of Her will as they toil for Her
  134. design."
  135.
  136. You tilt your head and listen intently to Afollia.
  137.
  138. You have emoted: Olethea blinks, sitting up a bit straighter and tilting her head. "...Does She
  139. speak to you through them?"
  140.
  141. Afollia smiles pleasantly "At times dear, they are after all extensions of Her will. May I ask you
  142. a question?"
  143.
  144. You have emoted: Olethea nods, her wings quietly sagging. "You may."
  145.
  146. Afollia gently extends her hand to demonstrate our surroundings "This is a beautiful manse, have
  147. you toiled hard upon it? Do you care what comes of it as I take kindness from your hospitality?"
  148.
  149. You have emoted: Olethea's gaze returns to the foliage, a soft hum causing her veil to flutter for a
  150. moment. "That's actually a complicated question. Yes, I prune where I need to for safe passage, and
  151. I built all the furniture here...." Her head cants to one side, in thought. "But what grows, and how
  152. thickly seems to change with me, rather than by my hands. When first I built this place, it was all
  153. scorched earth, glass flowers, and jasmine."
  154.
  155. You say, "It.... became a garden, when I joined the Glomdoring. And it became this wild dark place,
  156. when I joined His Pack."
  157.
  158. Afollia nods gently, delight in her eyes she speaks once more "It does seem that it has had quite
  159. the transformation over time." Her gaze embracing our surroundings she rises in tone "In a similar
  160. manner dear, we are guests within Her blessed forest. Our presence within Her woods is a gift
  161. granted to us out of our devotion to serve."
  162.
  163. Afollia gently caresses one of the nearby roses as she entwines her own words "That permission is
  164. Hers to give...and take. You have prayed for Her wisdom but have not heard Her words yet. Has
  165. anything else occured recently?"
  166.
  167. You have emoted: Olethea frowns in thought, toying with a curl of her hair. "....Not that I have
  168. noticed? I understand why She's done what She's done, and.... I am regretful for being incharatable
  169. in how I interpreted Her actions. Um..." She sits up a bit straighter once more, her lilac gaze
  170. fixing on Afollia's. "When I first game to the Glomdoring, it required of me that I sacrifice my
  171. last link to my Lady Enchantress. Doing so was.... a very painfully emotional experience, for while
  172. many thing
  173.
  174. You say, "Gurashi was the one to convince me it was worth it, and for them to turn around and.... do
  175. this."
  176.
  177. You have emoted: Olethea's voice falters briefly, and she falls into a miserable silence.
  178.
  179. Afollia sighs softly as she continues "It is a deep pain I would not presume to understand as he
  180. has wounded you in a way none other could. Do you know of the bonds of the web dear?"
  181.
  182. You have emoted: Silent for another pause, Olethea's brow furrows for a brief moment, before she
  183. nods hesitantly. "I know.... of? Them?"
  184.
  185. You say, "The Lady Aleyah speaks often of such things."
  186.
  187. Afollia extends her hands towards you as she responds "Please do share what you know, perhaps it is
  188. time you were taught properly of Her weavings."
  189.
  190. You have emoted: Frowning further, Olethea all but guesses, "I know that Webs are.... actually, I
  191. don't know if they're a metaphor." She pauses a moment, wrinkling her nose. "But they are what bind
  192. people together and represent the effect we have on one another."
  193.
  194. Afollia eyes gaze pleasantly upon you as she listens. As you finish, she picks up the conversation
  195. "The bonds of the webs are an ancient design that you will most certainly learn as you grow within Her
  196. blessed garden. They link each of us to each other, weaving upon three circles. The immediate heart:
  197. Family, dear friends and loved ones; the commune or middle web: Friends, guilds and people that
  198. revolved around us and last but not least ; the outer web: the cities, outsiders and many more."
  199.
  200. Afollia gently continues "Your gifts, your family and those you have met since you arrival are
  201. slowly spun from Her eternal web. Each a strand that nurtures Her blessed garden and brings Her
  202. commune closer." Allowing the silence to stretch for a moment..." I am certain you can see the
  203. threads of Her work."
  204.
  205. Showing that you understand, you nod your head slowly towards Afollia.
  206.
  207. ==== [ I understand nothing ] ====
  208.
  209. Afollia inclines her head in acknowledgement. "My dear, after all this hard work and dedication on
  210. Her part. How She included You within her blessed weavings and attempting, as heartbreaking as the
  211. unfolding events were, to weave you a happy life... only to see it break apart. Would you not feel
  212. that meat and words, earnest though they certainly were, might not be enough to have Her extend Her
  213. forgiveness?"
  214.
  215. You have emoted: Olethea frowns briefly, puzzled. "Ah....?"
  216.
  217. Afollia gently folds her hands upon her waist, her gaze falling upon you as she waits patiently for
  218. your words.
  219.
  220. Bemusedly, you ask, "I'm.... not sure I follow?"
  221.
  222. Afollia smiles pleasantly as she responds "I do not know for you dear, but if someone had fallen
  223. from my favor. I may prefer to see some acts posed instead of poetry and a candlelight dinner.
  224. Perhaps that is the reason the spiders whispered within my ear as I tended to them a few months ago?"
  225.
  226. Afollia extends her hand towards you in compassion as she whispers "Would you wish to hear the
  227. words of the spiders ? It is after all your choice dear."
  228.
  229. You have emoted: Olethea nods, brow still furrowed. "Please."
  230.
  231. Afollia nods gently once before she begins "The spiders must have sensed your sorrow, when they
  232. whispered your name they asked you to learn of Her crow. Within Her son, black sorrow grows being so
  233. strong as to take shape as one of K'ian Doim's aspects. The skittered about my garden, advising of
  234. the beauty of Her wyrd; advising in the comming year to remind you of the reason why black roses
  235. bloom."
  236.
  237. Showing that you understand, you nod your head slowly towards Afollia.
  238. -
  239. Softly, you say, "I see."
  240.
  241. ==== [ I do not see. ] ====
  242.
  243. Afollia sighs softly, her cerulean eyes fixated upon you as she finishes "The notion of a year from
  244. the moment you heard their words was particularly strong. I would advise you to carefully feel the
  245. wave your heart weaves in the coming year; a choice may well be upon you and an occasion to
  246. demonstrate your dedication to Her. The chance to earn Her forgiveness lies before you dear or so it
  247. seems Her web whispers from within my garden."
  248.
  249. Showing that you understand, you nod your head slowly towards Afollia.
  250.
  251. You say, "Thank you, then, for your advice."
  252.
  253. ==== [ ????????? ] ====
  254.
  255. Afollia inclines her head respectfully "With that dear, I shall take my leave. I believe you have
  256. much to consider, I pray you make the correct decision."
  257.
  258. You have emoted: Olethea nods, rising to her feet again.
  259. You get up off a lushly-cushioned backless chair.
  260.
  261. You curtsey gracefully before Afollia.
  262.
  263. Afollia rises from the seat, standing before you.
  264.
  265. The caw of a reclusive crow draws your attention toward Afollia, who whispers a barely audible
  266. prayer. She lays a palm on her heart, invoking an intoxicating scent of roses that suffuses your
  267. surroundings.
  268.
  269. You have emoted: Though her face is largely hidden by a veil, the impression of Olethea's tired
  270. smile is nevertheless tangible.
  271.
  272. Spinner Afollia Ebonrose, the Grand Diviner says, "May Her blessing accompany your reflection and
  273. Her wisdom guide your actions. I suspect we may meet again."
  274.
  275. Afollia smiles pleasantly and slips away.
  276.
  277. You nod your head at Afollia.
  278.
  279. ==== [ Good-bye, Afollia! ] ====
  280.
  281. Quietly, you ask, "....Baffling. Black Sorrow, hm....?"
  282.
  283. You run a hand through your cascading, fiery red curls, stroking the tresses and tucking a lock back
  284. into place.
